He is incredibly talented and truly listens to what you're hoping to achieve. Every dress he has resized for me fits beautifully, and you would never know it had been altered. He has also brought dresses back to life that I thought were ruined because of broken zippers. His craftsmanship is exceptional, and the quality of his work consistently exceeds my expectations. On top of that, he offers dry cleaning, which is such a wonderful convenience to have right in the neighborhood. It's rare to find someone who combines this level of skill, attention to detail, and genuine care for their customers. His work is worth every penny, and I recommend Lu the Custom Tailor without hesitation. If you're looking for someone you can truly trust with your favorite clothes, this is the place to go.

He had a quick turnaround (less than two weeks!) without sacrificing any quality or detail. His craftsmanship is incredibly precise, and he clearly takes pride in his work because my dress had beads and complex lace! Where shall I begin…read more Okay, excellent customer service from a lady from Puebla, Mexico. She's very nice and attentive; unfortunately, she's possibly the only good thing this establishment has going for it. I appreciate a nice person taking my work; however, I prefer quality when I'm having things dry cleaned. I took in 14 shirts to be cleaned and pressed. ALL of the 100% cotton shirts were done with wrinkles pressed into them; this wasn't an issue of the shirts getting wrinkled after they were pressed; clearly the shirts were poorly pressed. The small pleats near the cuffs were all wrinkled and there were some "dents" in the fabric from some clamps that they used while pressing the shirts. The collars were poor. As a whole, the only part of the shirts that was well done were the cuffs, alone. The pants were poorly pressed. The correct way, I shouldn't have to say, to press pants is to have the crease merge into the main pleat. The pleats were done one way and the pant crease another and they didn't merge. Now, if the shirts had been delivered nicely pressed, I would've been able to overlook the absence of creases on the sleeves and the absence of a nice crease in the back pleat of the shirts. I took them to this cleaner because I was hoping they'd do a better job than I do pressing my shirts alone--no such chance. Also, I don't know if this is regional, but I think NO ONE in the area knows what heavy starch means. I don't care how comfortable a shirt feels as long as it looks good all day. You would figured that this being a swamp, people would know what heavy starch is. For those of you who do dry cleaning in the area, the way to do heavy starch isn't to add more light starch; it's entirely a different process. You SOAK the shirt in the liquid starch and then you dry it and then you steam it with the pressing machines you have. So, the only difference is that after you wash the shirt, instead of putting the shirt in fabric softener, you soak it in starch. The nice lady did offer to refinish them for me, but in this are, who has time when an establishment closes at 5 p.m.? I need things done correctly the first time. If any fellow yelpers know where there is a good dry cleaner in the area, please let me know.

I recently had my last and final experience of four separate shirts buttons broke off from their pressing and one or two shirts no problem but all four! Mind you I have been a customer for years conversing with his son about wrestling etc but that didn't matter he insisted I pay 5 dollars for the buttons his cleaners broke..wait picture this I pay to have clothes cleaned now I have to give world cleaner's more to fix my buttons they broke..this is the biggest scam..he showed me a sign stating they are not responsible for damages to clothing..picture having your car in the shop the mechanic damages it then shows you a sign..we are not responsible for the dent in your door..makes sense ..? Hell no..the fact that I was a long time customer meant nothing his focus was 5 dollars..if you have decent or clothing that is valuable DO NOT GO THERE..a female explained she had the same experience except she had burn marks on her dress from the negligence of the workers and was there to attempt to get a refund or some type of resolution. Please avoid world cleaner's if you have decent clothing...I spend money on my clothing too much to have it destroyed by a cleaners...sometimes you get what you pay for..cheap prices..CHEAP SERVICE

Zips Lanham location did an excellent job ! Very professional and timely . will use them again.read more

This review is definitely long, but if you are thinking about using Zips Cleaners for any service,…read moreI Highly suggest you read this review first. My ordeal started on 5/4/26 and it is now 6/5/26. They burned my suit pants, and left a black mark on my vest and they still have not compensated me for it. In fact they are ignoring my complaints and not responding to my emails. Please read my timeline below and view the pictures as well. This review will definitely help you make a decision of whether you want to take a RISKY chance using Zips Cleaners services. Monday - 5/4/26 - 7am - Took 25 items to be dry cleaned at the Lanham MD location 8805 Annapolis Rd Lanham, MD 20706. These garments consisted of full 2 and 3 piece suits. Tuesday - 5/5/26 - 7am - Picked all the items back up. Later in the day I inspected the suits. During so I discover several burn looking pattern marks on my brownish/ dark gold pants. I discovered almost the same burn mark on my gray pants but it wasn't as noticeable as the dark gold pants. I discovered a dark black mark on the gold vest and also some white marks on another suit. The main issue was the burn marks though especially on the dark gold suit pants. If an item is defective Zips will put a blue tag on it labeling it as defective or it has some type of issue. This was not the case with my damaged items so obviously my garments were in tip top shape when I left them in Zips care. Wednesday - 5/6/26 - 8:50am - I contacted zips through their website and let them know what was going on with my pants. I also sent pictures after the General Manager Lori responded to the complaint. Through email the General Manager instructed me to take the items back to the Lanham store and ask for the store manager Ana and she would help me. Thursday - 5/7/26 - Took all the damaged garments back. Friday - 5/8/26 - Called Zips they told me my garments would be ready at 5pm Saturday 5/9/26. I asked her if I could just pick them up Monday and she said that's fine as well. Monday 5/11/26 - 7:30am - I get to zips to pick up my items. I let the cashier know about my situation. I even showed her pictures of the damage. She looked up my account and immediately brought all the items over to me. They were all pressed and on hangers and in the plastic suit bags ready to go. The white marks on the dark brown suit were gone so it looked like they dry cleaned them again. I inspect the items and before I could even say anything the cashier saw the burns still on the pants. She said it looked damaged by the iron. That's what I thought all this entire time. Monday 5/11/26 - 2:20pm - I called Zips and talked to Ana the store manager. She informed me that she knows it's not stains but its ACTUAL BURNS. She said that she's waiting on Lori the General Manager to see what she wants to do. I emailed the General Manager the same day and explained all this. Lori Madero (The General Manager) emailed back and basically was saying how my logic was flawed and I guess her Store Manager's logic was flawed as well and pretty much on the defense of the company. She also seemed like she had an egotistical superiority complex. She said "the cashiers shouldn't be giving their opinion on garments"... like we are in a country with no Freedom of Speech. The cashier just said what it looked like, she wasn't giving a professional opinion so why be upset at that? Then the General Manager Lori continued by saying that only she makes the decisions and not the cashier nor the store manager. She said only she can inspect the garments and make her own assessment before a decision is made. Yet I was not told any of this beforehand. I was led to believe that the store manager who works at that location full time would handle everything. I responded in kind and the last thing I asked was for her to have better communication going forward and I will need to know when she is coming to that Zips location so that I can bring the garments back for a 5th time beforehand. She ignored my email and never responded. 5-19-26 I sent physical printed letters to their corporate office. 5/31/26 I submitted more complaints on their website and still no response. It is now 6-7-26 and still no response. I have not even been offered a refund on the damaged items. I hope this gives people a better idea of what happens if Zips Cleaners damages your items. They will take no responsibility for it and they will stop contacting you intentionally.
