This is what has been missing in Petaluma. I'm loving the Ginger Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl. My hubby loves the slSpicy Ahj Tuna Poke bowl. On our first experience to Fresh Catch we walked through Teaspoon (the old Swoopwaffle) and through to the other side and to our surprise a new place has popped up. Simple, delicious poke. You don't have to worry about choosing a zillion toppings. I got the spicy ahi and it tasted fresh and delicious. Re: sizes-- You only pay a couple more bucks for 6 oz vs 4 oz -- so I can't imagine opting for the small if you're into poke. Just go for the regular and enjoy! Gave this spot a try on their grand opening and I left extremely satisfied. The combination of the food, service, and ambiance is what earns a STRONG 4 stars. The poke itself tasted very fresh, flavorful and light. Each fish was bursting with the traditional flavors, as well as some special creations. The sides complimented the fish nicely, all while letting the true buttery texture and taste of the fish shine. I LOVED the crispy wontons, they throw some chili dust on it and it's a crispy treat. I really wanted to like this place because its the only poke place around that serve wonton chips. . . . :( It took a while to find the entrance because the door says Mr. Stroopwafel above it. You walk inside and its just a naked shop with nothing on the counters besides some canned juice drinks and 2 tables on the side wall, its not somewhere that makes me want to eat inside of it. Also super weird they dont offer bottles of water or any other drink than the juice. We are greeted by the employee and then told they were out of some of the fish and toppings. Okay fine we will get somthing they have, the menu doesn't actually tell you what anything is or what comes mixed in the fish. I ordered ginger tuna since they were out of salmon but I had no idea it had onions in it or what anything else came with or what sauces they put on top since nothing had a description. They dont have any type of sauce cup if you want a sauce on the side so its either sauce on everything or no sauce at all. Paying $20 per bowl for the smallest amount of poke ive ever seen in a poke bowl was also disappointing, we went home and had a snack afterwards. Maybe I'll try it again in the future. It seems like they have a LOT of kinks to work out. Till then ill just hope one of the other pokebowl places puts wonton chips on their menu. read more

First time coming here and I'll definitely be coming back!!! This is hands down the best poke in all of Marin/Sonoma county and the closest thing you can get to poke from Hawaii!! They're using long grain/jasmine rice which is the wrong type of rice for a poke bowl and has an overpowering flavor. We have been to this restaurant two times, and the food is good. However, the portion size is very small for the poke, and we received only eight or nine small pieces of fish for a $22 bowl! Both times we were at the restaurant, we were the only customers at lunchtime. One might think they would give a better portion to encourage patrons to return. We won't return. read more

They changed the details of their opening day event from "first 100 people in line will get a prize" (granted of varying quality from discounts to big prizes, but still a promise of something for being "first") to "first 100 people in line will qualify" and made the event a "have to be present to win" with drawings occurring over several hours. I don't appreciate the bait and switch and opted to just not spend my money here at all. They didn't even offer any opening day general discounts. $11 Anna's seafood does great poke bowls for $16 most days and on Thursdays. I just figured "try a new place and get a little bonus of some kind? maybe a cool prize? sure why not", but it's not worth hanging out for 5 hours especially when there is a whole festival happening downtown. then the raffle was just one item every 45 minutes. so no little prizes as thank you for showing up, just hang out and see if you get a big one. The bait and switch to drum up business leaves a sour taste. Went from "sure I'll try" to "cold day in hell I spend my money here". They also boasted about their fish "being fresh and not frozen". ummm....excuse me? for raw fish to be free of parasites it either needs to be farmed (and you can't farm tuna) or it needs to go through a deep freeze to kill the parasites. so I guess enjoy your $20 parasite bowl and misleading advertisements if you choose to eat here? read more

One of the best poke spots around our area! I really love that they keep it traditional Hawaiian style--just fresh fish, your choice of rice or wontons, and a few simple sides. A lot of poke places load up on endless add-ons and skimp on the fish, but here the fish is the star of the bowl. If you're someone who loves poke for the quality of the fish rather than a bunch of toppings, this spot is definitely worth checking out!!! read more

Finally stopped by Fresh Catch and I'm glad I did. The ahi tuna was super fresh and the bowl was really solid overall. Good portion of fish and everything tasted fresh and well put together. Our first experience at fresh catch was disappointing to be honest. We walked in and there was no one at the counter to take our order. We tried to use the computer, but we're unable to add any sides. We walked next-door to the Boba place that is connected and asked somebody if we could have some help. I was told someone will be with you in a few minutes. After waiting for at least a few minutes, had our order taken by a young lady who did not seem happy to be there. They were out of multiple menu items such as spicy Ahi, wonton chips ginger, which was confusing considering they we arrived at about 3 PM. She also gave my friend the wrong item we asked for ginger Ahi, and she said she was out of that. When my friend asked for spicy Ahi tuna she was given spicy salmon. The space was also not clean, dirty tables. Really sad to say, as I was excited to try this place after seeing an Instagram reel promoting it. Don't think I'll be returning. read more
