I went in for steak tips and I got steak bits. I paid 17.99 a pound and got 3 1/2 pounds of little tiny pieces and much of them fell through my grill. It was like they took all the leftover garbage that no one wanted and just tossed it in the marinade thinking that no one would notice I would've been way better off going to the supermarket. Bought from mansfield store, shucked oysters, mussels . Asked if they were fresh , not there days. Girl said yes. After spending $30 I I had to throw the shucked oysters out, smelled and tasted rotten. Half my mussels wdnt open and they all smelled of smelly fish even after soaking them and cooking in a delicious broth . This is a fish market!! Fresher fish at market basket. Waste of $30. Service was warm and prompt which is the only thing giving them a bump up from 1-star. Wasn't impressed with either the lobster stuffed eggs or baked haddock... actually had a difficult time rating the haddock, but no big deal, I forced it down and got out of there. This is a nice local restaurant in Mansfield, in a strip mall. Plenty of parking. Attached is their fresh fish store which is amply stocked. They have beef as well as fish. The food here is good, and there is more than just fish and seafood served. The prices are reasonable. Of the items I have tried, the only one I did not like is the Alaskan chowder because it had fake crab in it and was too thick for my taste. (Fake crab should never be served in a fresh fish restaurant!). The service is very good here, and I will go again for a nice lobster roll! read more

First trip: This restaurant is connected to their seafood and deli store. You can walk in the Deli and just open the door to the right and you will be Fresh Catch Restaurant. The first time I went was with my boss. He recommended it and we went. We ordered the seafood minestrone soup and Surf and turf called "TIPS N STRIPS" (Steak tips and fried clam belly's). This meal sounds was good except the clam belly's was not that great. It a kind hard to mess up marinaded Steak tips (Marjnate and thRow on the grill). I thought my meal was great. Second trip: I returned 3 days later. I ordered a House Garden Salad, Alaskan Seafood Chowder and Salmon cut into different pieces. As I eat there had the food my stomach did not feel good. Either the seafood chowder or the salmon was not stored or cooked or temperature maintained and I got extremely sick from that day to the next. One of the best fish restaurants on the South Shore ! We have been patrons of this Mansfield location for more than 2 decades. Back then, there were only a handful of tables. The food was exceptional. Over the years, a store, sushi bar, and bar with alcohol were added. We miss the quaint beginnings. That said the quality has continued Everyone in the family loves the clam chowder. My wife always checks the luncheon specials. The whole belly clams are a frequent choice. My stable has been the broiled scallops. The store is a frequent stop, and my wife holds that the beef is better than local markets. What I've gotten from here has always been good, but the service has always been very unflattering, especially when both times I've gone here the place barely has people in it. I think one of the best things they have is the store next door to buy all your meats and seafood to take home and make your own dish. This is my second review in a month for two reasons First because I want to make sure the owner is aware and recognizes how incredibly lucky he is to have a hostess Maryanne who is not only sweet, but always calm, cool, organized and never lets the overwhelming wait of the guests as well as many impatient ones she encounters gets to her. My husband and I have dinner each and every week as I am also in the industry for over 25 years and to make the money I work all and every weekend. We choose to have our date night during the week, and this is my favorite place to come. Secondly I wanted to send a second review as we have had Deb M. as our bartender rhe the past two weeks in a row and she is amazing. She is not only responsible for all the bar patrons, she also makes all ths servers drinks, while clearing and caring all her own dishes as well as makes sure all the glasses are cleaned and back stocked. Not a easy task and being in the business I know there is usually a service bartender or two bartenders on. Kudos to Deb. Meh, it's kind of an interesting spot with a restaurant attached to a seafood market. The prices are pretty good for seafood. Got 2lbs of steamers and a whole lobster for 30 dollars. The steamers had way too much sand in it though. And the tiny cup of broth they give you to rinse the steamers didn't help much. A decent spot for locals but not something I would go out of my way to eat at. read more

This place is excellent. Very fresh seafood. The fried clam plate was excellent. The Portuguese littlenecks might be the best I ever had. The lobster roll was terrific. I with my son and grand daughter went there this Monday. We were seated with no menu after 15 min we got menu s and drinks we order a hot dog with fries and two flat breads. After repeated times the waitress going to other tables next to us never asked anything if we needed anything. Went in there to get fresh lobster meat. $69.95 lb !! It was so bad. Not fresh at all. No flavor. I tried to put butter on it. It was flat. I called next day they said well to bad. We can't get fresh lobster anymore during pandemic. So why you call it fresh. They said we have no way of knowing and some comes from China in a tube. It's the chance you take. But why no heads up. Why lie that it's fresh if it isn't. Owners son was a wise guy to. Very unprofessional punk attitude. He didn't care. I think he was mad because he had to work. Complete rip-off.
