My air conditioners needed charging during the hottest week of the year. I called Vadim at 8 AM and he was at my house at 11AM the same day! He is very knowledgeable and is patient when explaining what is needed and what he is doing. It would be hard to find a better HVAC contractor. read more

I've been working with Vadim and his HVAC team for the past three years, and I honestly can't recommend them highly enough. They have installed multiple mini-split systems for me, serviced existing equipment, and every experience has been exceptional. Vadim is incredibly knowledgeable and has an amazing talent for diagnostics. He doesn't just fix problems--he takes the time to thoroughly explain what's happening, why it's happening, and the best solutions available. His calm, confident expertise immediately puts you at ease. Most recently, after flooding at my home in January, I noticed a strange odor coming through my vents when I turned on my air conditioning for the first time this summer. Although the crawl space had already been remediated, Vadim quickly identified that HVAC components and ductwork had been submerged in contaminated floodwater. He carefully documented everything with detailed photos and videos and clearly explained the damage, making it incredibly easy for me to provide the evidence my insurance adjuster needed. Thanks to his thorough documentation and professionalism, my insurance claim was straightforward, and I was able to move forward with replacing the entire system. Rather than simply replacing what was there, Vadim designed a much better solution. My new HVAC system is quieter, more energy-efficient, more reliable, and looks much cleaner and more modern. One detail that especially impressed me was that he built a raised platform for the equipment in my crawl space to help protect it from any future flooding. That level of foresight and attention to detail is exactly what sets him apart. His entire crew was outstanding. They were punctual, respectful, hardworking, and incredibly professional. They worked an exceptionally long day to complete the entire installation in a single day, and when they left, I had a brand-new system that was fully operational. They treated my home with care and made what could have been a stressful situation feel completely seamless. What I appreciate most is that Vadim has always been there for me--even when I call about equipment he didn't originally install. No problem is too big or too small. He responds quickly, communicates honestly, and genuinely cares about doing the job right. Several of my friends now use Vadim as well, and every one of us feels the same way: once you've worked with him, you won't want to call anyone else. If you're looking for an HVAC company that combines exceptional technical expertise with integrity, responsiveness, professionalism, and truly outstanding customer service, look no further. Vadim and his team are simply the best! Thank you, Vadim, for your incredible work and for always going above and beyond. You have earned my trust for life. read more

Our A/C stopped working after a power outage. I tried a couple diagnostic steps to no avail, and ended up calling 5 different 24-hour repair companies. Most of them couldn't come until the next day or even next week. Fresh Air was there within 2 hours of my first call, and kept me updated along the way with great communication and transparency. Vidam explained everything so clearly and patiently and answered all of my questions. He even explained how I can try to fix it myself if it ever happens again. I am so grateful for Fresh Air Mechanical and their true "emergency services" during the hottest week of the year!!! read more

Requested a quote for new furnace. We were told by another company that it would cost $9000 for furnace and installation. Vadim came out and checked everything and told us that everything looked good and it would last another 3-5 years. Vadim just saved us $9000 or more. Thank you Vadim and Fresh Air Mechanical. It's nice to see there are honest people out there. read more

Fresh Air Mechanical offered everything you can look for when contracting work for your home. Vadim was on time to every appointment, his estimated time of completion was exact, his pricing was more than competitive, and his work wasn't just professional, it was craftsmanship. He used conduit to hide the coolant lines where he really didn't have to. He made sure every single aspect of this job was perfect. I work as the president of an HOA, so I interact with many many contractors. Few are as professional as Vadim. read more

They were highly efficient and undercut their compeditors price by a decent margin. I look forward to keeping cool this summer.

This company is legit! There's a reason they consistently have so many stars. I was referred to them by a friend. Our technician was fair, responsive/had good communication, and felt trustworthy. Initially our AC wasn't starting and it was easily still mid - high 70's out. It ended up being a power connection but he still came after 7:30PM from Serra Mesa, told us he wouldn't charge us since no repair was done and said to call him back once we had the power figured out. Vadim was our technician. Today he returned because we did want maintenance done on the unit and he was able to fix it for under $300. What we suspected to the problem was accurate. I wholeheartedly recommend them. Even sent a group text to my neighbors to share his info. As a bonus he was also great around our dogs. read more

Very punctual, professional & capable. Vadim repaired our A/C defects very efficiently & was altogether a pleasant experience because of his cheerfully positive "can do" attitude I would recommend this company to anyone with air conditioning issues that need to be resolved. I am sure they would be just as capable installing brand new systems. read more

The motor in our AC package was cycling on and off every 20 seconds. Vadim diagnosed the problem quickly, ordered a new controller circuit board and motor, and installed them. To be honest there was some sticker shock, but after researching pricing for that work in San Diego I realized he is very fair, and his customer service is outstanding. Didn't deposit the check until everything was working properly for a week. Who does that? read more

Mike came out and looked around for like 10 mins, gave us a price and showed up in 2 days. His crew of 2 started at 8am, ate lunch asked if they could work late, ate dinner and finished the job at 9:30PM. We had no previous central heating or air save for our old wall mount heaters. They removed the heaters, placed all the vents, installed the unit in the crawlspace above the bathroom installed the condenser outside and put a vent in our roof. All in one day with no mess. Those dudes are crazy. I asked one of them, his name was Vlad, if they wanted to just come back in the morning because I felt bad. He just looked at me deadpan like Drago looked at Rocky and in his Russian accent said "We finish tonight" read more

I purchased a condo in Hillcrest in May of 2021. During the home inspection it was discovered that the HVAC system was aged and faulty and in need of replacement. The previous owner agreed to replace the HVAC system and cover the entire cost, and so they procured the new HVAC system through Mikhail at Fresh Air Mechanical - and I'm glad they did. This is no ordinary HVAC system - the high rise building was built in the 1970s and uses a chilled water piping system to run A/C. This HVAC system needed to be ordered and manufactured (in Texas) and would take about 12 weeks to arrive. Luckily for us, the timing was perfect for our condo renovation schedule. Mikhail kept me abreast of the status of the order during production, and it actually arrived earlier than expected. He was very communicative and delivered on everything he promised. He and his crew showed up on time, were very meticulous and methodical with the installation, and were careful not to ding walls, scratch floors, etc. It was a very clean installation. Mikhail also replaced our outdated thermostat with a modern one. This past week, I used the heater for the very first time and discovered that it wasn't generating much heat. I called Mikhail, and he responded quickly to my request for an appointment. Mikhail arrived as scheduled, did a thorough examination of the system and was able to diagnose and resolve the problem. He also replaced our air filter. Mikhail is one of the nicest guys I've ever met in any contracting business. He's a true professional and knows how to run a business and create lasting client relationships. Mikhail is the real deal, and I will call on him for all my future HVAC needs. read more

Exceptional work, quick and timely response, reasonable price for high quality of work. This company, Vadim specifically, is highly recommended. He even called and let me know he is coming, was punctual polite, honest and efficient. He made sure he cleaned after he did the work, and all the time, it was very a pleasure to deal with. I will call again and recommend them to anyone. read more

Our house didn't have an AC because it's too expensive but after I found out about the split AC I hired this company. The whole process was quickly and reliably. Vadim and his team came on time and installed the split AC successfully without leaving the mess and most importantly no hid fees. Vadim came a week before the installation and gave me the estimated price and time and everything went smoothly since then. i would totally recommend this company because they are efficient and reliable. I am using the AC now and I am very pleased with it. I highly recommend the AC and the heating system. read more

I called Vadim at Fresh Air Mechanical about a leaky air conditioner condensation drainage line in my ceiling crawl space. It was causing my ceiling to fall apart. Vadim came in a hurry that same day. A really hot day. He crawled around in my hot attic and fixed the leak. He explained what the previous contractor had done wrong and what he had done to correct the problem. And also did a couple of extra improvements to protect it from problems in the future. I am very happy and highly recommend him and Fresh Air Mechanical. They also did excellent maintenance to my heating and air on the home I lived in previous to this current home. You will be in good hands with them. They know what they are doing. read more

Mikhail fixed my a/c system by first doing a thorough diagnostic. He was pretty quick, too. The problem was very low freon. These guys are the best ... honest and very fairly priced. I thought I needed to have an A/C completely removed from my guest apartment. The heat pump was broken, and other companies told me that I needed to replace both the heat pump and air handler ... and pay a ton of money, too. (Alternately, they wanted a ton of money to remove those systems, if I could even get them to do it at all.) My brother used Fresh Air a few months ago, and had lots good to say about them. I called them on a Thursday ... they gave me a very reasonable removal price ... and they arrived early the next morning. Sweet! Vadim evaluated both the heat pump and air handler, and informed me that instead he could adapt a new heat pump to work with the existing air handler ... and do it all for a price I could afford. I agreed, as this was better than having the unit removed, per my original plan. Vadim and Andrew had the new unit within 30 minutes, and in another hour later it was working. They even reprogrammed my smart thermostat to work with the new system. Really, how could I ask for more. I would use them again and again, and I'm looking forward to having them out next summer for a look-see to make sure all is good. I recommend them to you, too. read more

Fresh Air Mechanical installed a new A/C system in my condo, and I couldn't be happier. They arrived on time and worked steadily, finishing the job much faster than I anticipated. The owner Mikhail just completed a final inspection, the system is quiet and working great. My old A/C system had failed and needed to be replaced. I first contacted a large company here in the San Diego area and was quoted a price that was shocking. I live in a 3 story condo complex with the a/c heat pump located on the roof. The "other"company stated they couldn't use the elevator and instead I needed to pay to block off the street and bring in a crane to replace the roof unit. I called Fresh Air Mechanical who assured me a crane was not needed and quoted me a price that was thousands of dollars less than the first company. Fresh Air Mechanical was true to their word and installed the new system by having 2 workers help position the new unit onto the roof. Mikhail was very responsive, he and his workers were extremely polite, professional and efficient. I highly recommend Fresh Air Mechanical. read more

I contacted Mike when the A/C was not cooling in the condo where we have a tenant. Because he is familiar with the building, it seemed to be a smart move. He was responsive and showed up right on time, communicating effectively along the way. He ran a couple of tests and determined there was a burnt wire and the need for a couple of fuses. This could have easily been a situation where we were told the system needed more than it did, but he was honest, efficient and completed the task quickly. Beyond that, because I had some specific contact and billing information, I followed up with an email, which he obviously read and understood. (Trust me, I've had companies who couldn't be bothered to follow instructions, even when it meant prompt payment!). He impressed me and I will keep his number in my contacts. read more

Mike was very responsive to all my phone calls and texts. Always polite and prompt. Very good service, and kept me in the loop the whole time. It was a great pleasure to work with him. My particular instillation was very challenging because I in a multiunit condo with my AC Unit on the roof. The roof is not easily accessible and required multiple people to lift the AC unit. Previous AC Repair people would not perform the job, or would give me ridiculous quotes that required a crane. Mike got 2 addition guys to help and lifted the unit to the roof. The installation was quick and easy after they were all very friendly. I would highly recommend Mike for any future projects. He is honest, prompt, and professoinal. read more

Great customer service. I use this company for rentals and my personal residence. They have done full duct work and complete upgrades. All work was top notch. I am most impressed with their customer service. I had a water leak and thought it was the AC. I called at 7pm on sun night. He called back immidiatly. He had someone there next day. Turns out it was not the AC it was the washing machine. No charge or anything for the visit. It was like a friend coming to help you out. That type of customer service is rare these days. Mikhail was at my place a few years ago to fix a furnace that was blowing air but not hot air. It was a simple fix for him - just connecting a broken exhaust duct. He charged me next to nothing :-). It was a fix I couldn't diagnose and do myself. Other HVAC services would have started at $75 for the service call and then gone up from there into the hundreds. I've been that route before, and when some contractors see a home in Mission Hills they up their price by 50% :-( (To compare, when Carini installed a new furnace and charged me top dollar for it a few years back, they left about 20 major problems that needed correcting and they took multiple service calls to get things right because they didn't even fix the problems I had listed (on a typed list with photos) as being problems on their first service call. They missed things like thermostats that were not connected (took there calls), air ducts that were not connected to registers (took several calls), ducting which made sharp turns when a soft turn would have been better, or ducts which were connected to each other with sloppy application of duct tape that left air blowing through seams in the duct tape - multiple calls). I had another small problem with the same furnace yesterday. Mikhail came over the today, fixed it quickly and didn't charge a thing. I gave him a few movie passes, just the same. Not only is he fast, efficient, inexpensive and reliable, but whenever we meet we have a good laugh about life. Thank you Mikhail. read more

Mike was fantastic at replacing my construction grade air conditioner with an amazing trane unit that is top of the line. The service I received from Mikhail and his associates was second to none. Absolutely top notch work and greatly appreciated after a summer of having no air conditioning. He worked efficiently and even longer than expected to get my new AC up and running and I can not recommend this company highly enough. I had all the big companies out for estimates and they suggested I pay upwards of $1500-3,000 more than the fine work Mikhail did. Best yet, his work and my new air conditioner come up with an iron clad warranty and I am beyond thrilled to have AC again. Mike is very responsive to all phone calls and the customer service at his company is spectacular. Than you Mikhail (Mike), all my very best to you. read more

We first met Mikhail about 3-4 years ago when he was sent by our home warranty company to fix our HVAC. He was always on-time, courteous, and gave us his honest opinion. He worked efficiently and did his best to get our AC repaired as quickly as possible (not always easy when using a home warranty!). We no longer have our home warranty policy and hope to get 1-2 more summers out of our current system and wanted to get it checked out before the heat wave hit. We tried to get in touch with Mikhail through the home warranty information we had saved but did not hear back in a timely manner. We remembered a friend had gotten a new HVAC last summer and LOVED the company/person she used so I asked for a referral. I called and was schedule for the next day and we are happy to say we discovered it was the same person we had been trying to find! We all had a good laugh and he went right to work on our AC. He made a few adjustments and said he felt our system is a good one and will hopefully continue to function as needed for our timeframe, maybe longer. He said he'd be around when we are ready to upgrade but he didn't recommend doing so now as it is a good and functioning system. We are so impressed as we had other "major companies" tell us 3 1/2 years ago when we bought our home, that the system needed to be replaced immediately (for $15,000+!). If you need help with your HVAC, call Mikhail first to get an honest and reliable opinion (and service if it is needed!) read more

Earned my trust from the first contact! My HVAC was acting up. Based on a customer recommendation I contacted Mike at 619-972-4418. He beat one of the local "big names" by a week and $20 for the visit. It did not take Mike long to troubleshoot and identify the cause. He didn't try to fool me or sell me something I did not need.
