Tuna wontacos

This place just reopened under the two brothers, and WOW, what an upgrade! The whole place looks amazing, and the food and drinks were seriously 10/10. I feel like I pretty much tried half the menu and honestly, everything was so good. I especially fell in love with the salmon wontacos, arroz norteño, pulpo, and pescado a la macho. Their drink selection is also great! The piscorita was fire, and they have an amazing Xacolina that I definitely recommend trying. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. So happy to see this place reopened and looking better than ever!

I am so happy this place opened back up! Everything we had was delicious but I particularly loved the Lomo Saltado and the Huancaina Mac and Cheese. The cocktails were all great too! The service was quick and attentive and the interior is very cute and nicely located in Noe! I would suggest a reservation on busier nights, we came on a Friday and the place was full! I will definitely be visiting again.

What a lovely lunch we had . First of all walking into the beautiful bright restaurant that was very clean with plenty of room. The food was delicious and fresh with very friendly service will definitely go back and so happy it's reopened.

We walked by this restaurant a few times on our way to dumpling park, and we noticed that have a very nice outdoor setup. So we decided to give it a try today for an early dinner. They have HH from 3-6pm with $1 Oyster on the menu. The food was good and the drinks were also on point. The service was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back again soon!

I invited my sister to brunch one weekend without any idea where we wanted to go. I picked Noe Valley and we walked around for about 2 minutes before we chose Fresca. We both felt like lunch over brunch and picked the empanada sampler and the ceviche sampler. We kinda over ordered, but you gotta treat yourself sometimes. I ordered myself a Mimosa, because it was brunch afterall. Service was quick, food came out perfectly presented and delicious. There was enough to take leftovers for later. We both loved it so much, we often talk about our Peruvian brunch spot. We will have to bring our Mom next time, because good taste in food runs in the family and I know she will love it too.

From outside, Fresca does not look that fresh as the name indicates, but their fish, oh well, that is indeed fresh and delicious! My friend and I ordered the poke bowl Peruvian style and was so good, lots of fish pieces and exotic flavors, very different from the usual poke. We would have liked more quantity, but well the quality was really there. Also we shared the fried yuca and that sauce was very delicate, we fought for it! Our waiter was super attentive and answered all the questions we had about the different dishes or appetizers. The inside is very modern and clean. Will be back to try their different ceviches when in the area.

Pollo A La Brasa (Lunch): Marys farm free range herb encrusted rotisserie chicken served with crispy kenebec french fries ($16)

For our office lunch last week, I decided to order from Fresca. We ordered via Caviar and scheduled the delivery to arrive between 11:30am and 12pm. Our order didn't arrive until a little before 12:30pm on Friday, August 4th. Not sure if it was a lag with Caviar or Fresca, but at least it wasn't super late. *Pollo A La Brasa (Lunch): Marys farm free range herb encrusted rotisserie chicken served with crispy kenebec french fries ($16) *Lechon Asado: Pulled pork, mango aji sauce, jack cheese, coleslaw, tomato, and toasted Dutch crunch bread, French fries ($14) I ordered the chicken while I shared the sandwich with another coworker. The chicken was a hefty portion at half a whole bird. I only ate the thigh the first day which was nice and juicy. The salad was also good and pretty big for a side salad. I know fries don't travel well, so these were just okay. Kinda soggy when they got to our office. The sandwich was a nice way to try their pulled pork. I could have passed on it though as I didn't think it was very flavorful. Especially after having the yummy chicken first. One of my coworkers ordered the empanadas which ended up being smaller than she thought. Not enough for a full meal. That's why we ended up sharing the sandwich as the person who ordered it wasn't in the office that day. Fresca ended up being a hit at work. I'd definitely order their chicken again if it comes up as an option for lunch. Very tasty!

This is simply the best restaurant I've ever been to. I had the whole branzino (European Seabass), and it was delicious. We will return to this wonderful restaurant.

Piccarones. Peruvian doughnuts, yo.

This neighborhood badly needs the diversity this restaurant offers. In the homogenousness NV offers, this spot is an oasis. You walk in, Juanes is playing, order yuca fries to start (extra rocoto aioli please), your daughter orders kid's mac and cheese, order fajita salad sun grilled chicken no bread or dairy, and BAM. You're winning.

Exceptional service and a wonderful personality -- Ivan is definitely one of the reasons we would come back! Jennifer was also excellent: warm, attentive, and very professional. Mariposas was just starting to fill up when we arrived, and the team accommodated our party seamlessly. The atmosphere is fun, quirky, and unpretentious--playfully decorated with a full floral wall, glowing accent lights, and large butterflies throughout the dining room. What truly made the evening special, though, was the stellar service. Our server took fantastic care of us, which was no small feat considering she seemed to be managing several tables (if not most of the dining room) single-handedly. She was warm, attentive, and incredibly professional from start to finish. They even surprised the birthday girl with a complimentary dessert of her choice--Lúcuma (Peruvian caramel-like fruit) ice cream, which was a delightful touch. For the food and drinks, the empanadas (chicken, beef, and vegetable) were the absolute stars of the dinner--beautifully presented and easily some of the best I've had in a long time. The Ceviche de Camarones was fresh and packed with flavor, while the Lomo Saltado was perfectly tender, and well-seasoned. The Arroz con Pollo was solid, though if we had a do-over, we'd swap it for a second order of Ceviche or the Chicken Tallarín Saltado. We rounded out the meal with a classic Pisco Sour, a refreshing Chicha Morada, and a few chilled Inca Kolas, all of which were excellent. Mariposas delivered great food, a relaxed vibe, and standout hospitality when we needed a backup plan. I recommended Mariposas if you're looking for solid Peruvian comfort food and top-tier service in SF.

Fortunately for us, El Dorado was conveniently located a block away from Moscone South (yes, I had my eye on the restaurant ahead of time and had made a reservation). The first night, Jorge greeted us warmly and walked us through the menu. The restaurant's vibe is neighborhood casual, though still appropriate for a date night or nice family outing. We wanted to try a little bit of everything, so we ordered the ceviche trio, the empanada sampler, and the pescado frito, which is a pan-seared red snapper entree. For dessert, we had the churros and mango mousse cake. Everything was delicious, and our favorites were the original ceviche, the veggie empanada, the fish, and the mango mousse cake. For drinks, we ordered the chicha morada and pisco sour - both refreshing and yummy! Jorge was also our server, and service was excellent throughout dinner. We enjoyed everything so much and joked about dining here again tomorrow. Pretty sure Jorge did not take us seriously! The second night rolled around, and I couldn't stop thinking about the veggie empanada and pisco sour... so we dined at El Dorado once more! We did not have a reservation this time, and thankfully the restaurant had a couple of open tables. We told the host (not Jorge; sorry, I forgot your name!) we had dined with them last night, and he chuckled. Pretty sure he thought we were kidding! This time our server was Ayduri, who was very sweet and attentive as well. We got a full order of the veggie empanada, the shrimp causa (kind of like a tart potato salad with shrimp), the churrasco entree, and their seafood pasta special. For dessert, the chocolate cake. Another chicha and a maracuya (passionfruit) sour this time. All the items delivered - especially the churrasco, which came perfectly medium rare, just like we requested. And, to our pleasant surprise, the dessert was on the house, because we dined there twice in a row! All in all, El Dorado is a gem in SOMA. Granted, I do not venture into SOMA often, so my palate only knows so much. But I'm confident you'll find something to love here. And chances are we'll be back again the next time we're in the city.

That said, it wasn't the most comfortable seating, although it is atmospheric. Our table was near some stairs and it felt like the staff had to squeeze through. Like a lot restaurants now, it is a bit loud to have an intimate conversation -- surprising to see so many business groups here. Perhaps that's a plus because there's no way someone can eavesdrop on you. There is an extensive ceviche menu, so I had high hopes and tried 2 of them. We also got the bucatini with seafood and the lomo saltado. This is a good amount of food for 2 people -- perhaps just right for a big eater, but definitely too much for me. Honestly? The ceviche was just ok. I got the local halibut and the leche de Tigre. Both of them felt a bit under seasoned. The fixings was nice but the amount of seafood didn't warrant the prices. The bucatini was delicious and studded with crab meat and scallops -- it was definitely my favorite dish. The lomo saltado had tender beef and fried potatoes, but it, again, did not warrant the high price even though I did enjoy it. Oh, did I mention that it was *pricy*? Even for San Francisco, especially for a honey dish like Lomo Saltado -- I didn't think it was classed up enough for the ~$50 price. Yes you read that right! Anyway, this is a great place to use your expense account. However, don't even think about coming here on personal funds. The food was decent but extremely overpriced; you could be seated in an area without any view; and the drinks (I got the pisco sour) was weak and not even close to what I've gotten on my travels to South America.

There is a nice selection off the main menu for Happy Hour 4-6pm. Providing an opportunity to sample one or more of the menu items as an appetizer. I chose the mussels with garlic bread, as good ones are not found easily. The portion was quite ample, and the sauce I dipped my nice crunchy garlic bread in was very flavorful, warm and delicious. I also tried the plantains which were cooked perfectly; not too mushy with a perfect char, and the sweet onions on top were also tasty. Paired with a very tangy dipping sauce. All the flavors came together well. My husband ordered the Cantina burger which he enjoyed down to the last bite. Our daughter also sampled off the smaller menu with Lomo Empanadas and the Chicharron de Pollo which she reported were both very nicely prepared. Will, our server gave us excellent recommendations which we availed ourselves of. The bill for 4 items plus the burger, a side of rice, and a ginger beer came to just under seventy dollars, which was a reasonable price. I would definitely give the food five stars, and the restaurant four as it's a long and lengthy bar with a few tables for two. The majority of the seating is in the back with two flat screens and an open kitchen. I can imagine how loud this place can get. We went at the perfect time: not a lot of customers so we received excellent individualized service from Will. I would hope to be able to return next time we visit GG Park and sample some more menu items like the Peruvian Paella which sounded very promising.
