I ended up with a slice of salted chocolate caramel cake, which came with extra salted caramel, and it was delicious! I couldn't eat it all so it was nice to have the rest of the piece later at home. My friend got one of the Shindigz cookies and raved about it. She said it was one of the best cookies she's ever had. They have indoor and outdoor seating and as today was a nice day, we sat outside in a little garden area that had fountains and was very nice. I settled on the pistachio cream filled pecan pastry, the almond twist, and strawberry shortcake. The beverage menu was extensive: matcha, flavored teas, cocoa, espresso/coffee, and more. We were greeted by pleasant staff at checkout and our orders placed in a parchment type bag for take out. They also have seating inside. The pastries were just sweet enough without being overly sweet, which I like. The pistachio cream was a perfect compliment to the pecan encrusted pastry. The almond twist was both flaky and crunchy with the sliced almonds on top, and the strawberry shortcake had layers of real strawberries, whipped topping and yellow cake that was moist. All were fresh. All in all, a great place to stop by for a morning pastry treat and tea/coffee while in the area,

Now they seem to be expanding to multiple pop ups in the same block of Cary street which is awesome! Kudos for all those years of hard work!! The cakes are simply the best in Richmond. They're pricey but totally worth the splurge! I'm not a huge fan on the little teeny tiny caramel sauce they give you on the side... if i remember correctly it used to be drizzled right on top of the cake!! When it's separate it really isn't the same consistency, it's kinda grainy, and it's definitely not enough caramel!! For those of you who are unfamiliar with a chopped cheese sandwich, let me break it down for you. A chopped cheese sandwich is when a burger is cooked steak and cheese style and put on a hoagie roll. This sounds like it should be a simple concept but so many sandwiches fall short of hitting the mark. THIS ONE DOES NOT! The meat on this sandwich is cooked wonderfully. The seasoning is perfect. The temperature is excellent. It's juicy and not any way overcooked. It smells amazing as soon as you open the bag. The fries are also a sticking point for me. They are golden brown and have just the right amount of salt and crunch to them without being dried out. My lunch is always really in minutes and I enjoy talking to the owner while I wait. He always greets me with a smile and makes my business feel appreciated. There are several other menu options but I am so smitten with this one that I have not ventured to try anything else.

We've ordered the sandwich trays, large servings of the side salads, and the dessert trays, and everything has been great and economically priced. The food is fresh, flavorful, and it's delivered on time with everything you need to host a lunch meeting. The sandwich trays come with a variety of cold wraps and sandwiches which are cut into halves and are definitely a step above your average lunch meat. Portion sizes are very generous. Two sandwich halves are considered one serving, and we always have leftovers even if we order 10 servings for 12 people. The chicken, bacon, and avocado wrap, the terragon chicken salad sandwich, and the classic club are my favorites. When ordering salad for a group you have the option of splitting the order in half, i.e. half potato salad and half pasta salad for 10 people, or just doing a single larger portions, i.e. green tossed salad for 10. Both the pasta and potato salads have been huge hits with the office, with colleagues asking to take home the leftovers. The green salad is simple and fresh, mixed greens with onion, carrots, tomatoes, and a variety of dressings on the side from balsamic to poppy seed vinaigrette. The pièce de résistance is the dessert tray. It includes a sampling of everything portioned into individual servings: gooey lemon bars, moist carrot cake, pound cake with classic white icing, blondie bars with chocolate chips, brownies with chopped nuts, and large cookies. This definitely hits the spot for those of us with a sweet tooth.
