Our family had a wonderful experience at Frenchie's. We showed up with 15 people and they were very accommodating and brought our food out quickly. The Shrimp Poboy reminded me of New Orleans. The crawfish soup was absolutely fabulous. Great tasting and loaded with goodness. *Service was ok. A little cold. I don't like to tip before I am finished based on service. Here the tip is added when ordering at the counter. You get a number and locate a table. Drinks are self serve as well as utensils. What am I tipping for if the register service isn't pleasant. We hurried and ordered another plate after one of us ordered them because we knew we needed more! The server said that they always run out of their specials so get there early enough, because I have a feeling what they make is always amazing. The French fries and fry sauce was also top notch. We love this place because the folks were super helpful in ordering. We really thought this was a "French restaurant" because of their signage but it's really Creole fare. Nice beer and wine selection in addition to the food. You might struggle to find a super healthy meal but that's not what they're about and if eating low fat low carb this is not your jam, you can go many places a McCall for that. We were staying in Donnelly and made a quick drive into town to get some food. Since our go to was closed, we saw Frenchies and figured, let's give it a try! They were closed to seating due to COVID, but they were available for takeout and boy are we glad! Their ambiance inside is super quaint and cute with the outdoorsy, comfy feel of the fireside. We ordered two of their po'boys with tots/fries. Let's just say that we were salivating before the food even got to the car as we could smell the fries coming in quick! We couldn't even wait to get driving and had to pop one of the tots. SOOOOO GOOOOOOD! We were looking for something different and stopped in for a later lunch and this place delivered. When we arrived there was a light crowd so we were able to easily find a table for 4. Staff weee friendly and even took the time to check up on us. As we were wrapping up, a larger group of 10-12 arrived and seemed to be accommodated rather quickly. As far as food goes, we had the spicy chicken po boy and a shrimp version with tots and fries. Both were good and hit the spot. A nice variety of beer on tap and some options for the kids too. I've eaten at Frenchie's twice now. The first time at lunch, I got the trout poboy, my daughter got the kids cheeseburger, my Dad got Dat Burger and my Mom got the seafood chowder. We all gave it a thumbs up, so later in the week when a friend and I were looking for a dinner place, we tried it, and we were not disappointed. I got the blue plate special which was flank steak and chimichurri sauce. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The fries were spectacular. My friend had the spinach salad and said the chicken was moist and well seasoned. Also, everyone I've interacted with at Frenchie's is just delightful--they make you feel welcome and that they are truly happy to be serving good food to appreciative people. Made my 6th trip to Frenchie's today and have been working my way through the menu. The Po Boys are fantastic and definitely have the authentic vibe of New Orleans as do both the Gumbo and the Seafood Chowder. If you are driving into McCall and see the sign that says "Frenchie's on Third" you need to stop! Get out and walk in and order the house made tomato soup! It is the best I have ever had! Made with an abundance of different spices and heavy cream that make your taste buds SING! I will definitely be stopping in for another bowl the next time we travel to McCall. The roast beef with mashed potatoes and gravy, with fresh green beans were delicious and the slow cooked beef was beyond amazing. And if you have any room left for dessert, the bread pudding was not your typical overly sweet with loads of sugar and cinnamon bread pudding, it was just the right amount of sweetness, with peaches and white chocolate pieces. Yummmm... Another positive thing is the owners are working there and extremely friendly and kind, and their staff members are too! Great job! Delicious, quick, fresh, friendly. We tried the rangoons, chicken po' boy, shrimp po' boy, gyro sandwich, Cuban burger and blazin' burger. The highlights were definitely the blazin burger, and the Chicken and shrimp po' boys. The po' boys had awesome flavor. Sweet pickles, crunchy slaw, soft yet toasty bread. The beef they use in the burgers is awesome - tastes fresh and high quality. I'd recommend getting a double patty if you like a meaty burger. The jalapeños are pickled if that matters to you. Gyro sandwich was fine but not as tasty as the other items. Same for Cuban burger. The rangoons were also fine, but we didn't taste much crawfish and the wrapper seemed a bit thick. Yesterday, I came with my friends and got the Mac n cheese, tater tots and the squeaky cheese curds. Everything was so delicious!!! The cheese curds came with their house sauce which was so yummy, and I got ranch with the tater tots which was also delicious (and I could tell was house made). We loved the food so much we came again for lunch today. This time I got a burger and fries and, not surprisingly, it was so good!!
