Horrible sales tactic, get out of my face with that sh*t. Comparing nail salons is like comparing people in high school. You have your popular kids, the nail salons that are always busy no matter what time of day. The rich kids, the nail salons that are bougie and expensive and try to be more like spas and have nice things. The teachers, the nail salons that despite barely having any customers and business they're still open and there ready to take you in. And the jocks, the nail salons that are sometimes extremely busy and sometimes not at all. That's where this nail salon fits in. I called before coming here because my other nail salon (that would fit under popular kids) was fully packed at 11 am and I wanted to find a nail salon where I didn't have to wait. They said if I come now it won't be busy. Sure enough when I got there, a man had just left and I was the only customer there. There were about 4-5 of them. Good sign. Nice massaging chairs. Another good sign. And a big flat screen tv. Great sign. They have a restroom, which I used before my mani and pedi because I had been running errands beforehand and didn't want to go home just to use the restroom. A lady had my chair ready when I got out so I sat down and she started on my hands. Mani and pedi was $22. After a weekend of being under the sun and partying my white manicure had turned yellowish/dirty. So 3 stars. My white polish pedicure stayed fine. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! The owner Mindy was extremely rude to my mom and I. We have been coming here for about 2 years and started noticing her attitude change more and more every time. Today was the worst and I will never be giving them my business again! As soon as we walked in she looked upset we were there and rushed us. When I sat down to do my pedicure and full set she was pulling my hands and rushed the entire time and was huffing as if she was annoyed she had to do my nails. I am 8 months pregnant and when she grabbed my purse from the chair instead of handing it to me she threw it on my stomach!! I paid for mine and my moms services which came out to $120 and left. I don't know the girl's name, but the one with the glasses... I don't think she's ever done a full set before. There are so many air bubbles in the acrylic. She applied and then scraped off acrylic onto several different nails so many times because it was not shaping right. She threw on a messy glob of acrylic in each nail and when she saw my expression said "don't worry, I know what I'm doing- they will be beautiful". The end result- a shitty looking set. I came for a pedicure and to get my chin waxed. I got the "pedicure deal" for $22. It was supposed to include a sugar scrub, callus remover, and 15 minutes more of massage time! I only got about a 3 minute massage. And then I specifically asked for JUST my chin to be waxed. Before I knew it, the lady had put wax on my sideburns!!! It was too late and had to come off! I have been to this nail salon a few times it isn't my go to nail salon in Downey but I will go to them if I just need to go somewhere and know that I won't have to wait. I usually like to go to this salon because the people are friendly and they use clean tools if you request them to. But after my experience today I will not be back. I went in yesterday and got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure with the added on callus remover and scrub. when I left the salon I noticed that my gel manicure which was done by Mindy had a horrible paint job. I decided to go back today and she originally tried to just file around the edges and I let her know that I wanted my nails repainted over. This is when things took a turn for the worst she became upset she started speaking in her native tongue and when I asked her what she mad she started to explain to me that my nails don't look bad and they look okay to her. excuse me! I paid $47 it does not matter if my nails look good to you all that matters is that I like my nails. The paint job was a mess there was gel polish all around the cuticles all around the edges it was horrible. she eventually finished and try to explain something to me but at this point she had already went off on me I was done. I went in today for the first time thinking i was going to be happy based on the yelp reviews i had read.The only thing i liked about this place was the friendly staff. The nails i was not happy with because there wasn't anything special about them. Paid $47 for white tip acrylic mani/pedi. And got fingers cut a couple times plus you can see bubbles in them !! After they added the clear coat she even noticed and tried to fix them but didn't fix them right.You can still see the bubbles.I usually go to one in paramount and get acrylic with fancy designs and rhinestones plus pedi for way less!!! Most horrible manicure experience I have ever had! The lady who did my nails was very rude. She dropped a tool in the floor and then proceeded to use it on me!!! She wore gloves and got the gel polish all over my hands. There was an air bubble on one nails so I asked her to fix it and then she added one more coat to that nail making it darker than the others. I went to her my very first time here and she ruined my nails and took forever she dosen't know what she's doing and she takes forever. So since then I've gone with cindy. Their prices are not bad but every time i enter i feel like leaving , they give me that vibe when i get to the shop. I only come here because its close by but i don't think its worth it. I just returned from this salon, and I was very happy with my experience. I got a full set put on (for the first time in 20 years!), and my daughter got a manicure. They were friendly, and the nails turned out fabulous.
