Red blend wine - was super good

Went for the Wednesday prime rib special. Meat was cooked perfectly and served with great horseradish sauce. The baked potato was just ok, nothing spectacular. The special came with cheesecake, which I'm not a huge fan of. Hubby ate that and I had the creme brûlée which was yummy. Service was wonderful even with half the crew apparently calling in sick. I'll definitely head back to this place.

A lot of the food is expensive, but the best bang for your buck is the chicken Rochambeau. It is fantastic.

(5/5) I Came to…read moreGamble...I Left with New Friends and a Slight Liver Injury Visited: Tuesday, July 28, 2026 I've played blackjack in casinos from Oakland to Reno to Vegas Montreal to Detroit to Tunica, Mississippi to Atlantic City hell even to Metropolis, Illinois. This little casino just off from Charleston, West Virginia? Best. Single. Casino. Experience. Of. My. Life. No, it isn't the biggest casino. No, it isn't the fanciest. The décor has an older, darker feel with warm tones, and some people might describe it as a little worn. I'd describe it as comfortable enough to accidentally spend your mortgage payment in. My buddy Brett and I sat down expecting to kill an hour before continuing our drive to Pittsburgh. Three hours later... ...we were still there laughing our heads off. The blackjack tables were outstanding. The players actually knew how to play, which meant no endless debates over whether to hit a 17 or split tens. The games moved at a great pace, everyone was having fun, and despite only walking away about $40 ahead, I honestly couldn't have cared less. In fact, I probably tipped away more than I won. Worth every dollar. Then there was Dakota. Dakota isn't just the best blackjack dealer I met on this trip... He's one of the most entertaining dealers I've ever played with. Somewhere between doubling down and busting the table, we learned he plays bass for the West Virginia metal band Dismember the Outcome. By then the table had become less of a blackjack game and more of a comedy club. We laughed so hard that I genuinely forgot I was gambling. That has never happened before. And then there was the pit boss. I think his name was Dave. Imagine a sharply dressed casino supervisor making sure every blackjack payout is correct...then casually jumping into a conversation about the Lamb of God concert he had attended. That's when I realized this place was different. Behind every suit was somebody you'd happily have a beer with. Speaking of beer... Whoever told me drinking is West Virginia's state sport may have been onto something. Because the real MVP of the afternoon was our cocktail waitress. At one point Brett and I had become just intoxicated enough to loudly yell across the casino for another well vodka shot and Diet Coke. Classy? Absolutely not. Professional? Definitely not. Her response? Without missing a beat she smiled across the casino floor and said, "I gotcha, hun." I swear she covered fifty yards faster than a wide receiver running a post route. By the time I blinked, the drinks were already sitting in front of us. There are Southern belles... ...and then there are Southern cathedral belles. She moved through that casino like the patron saint of thirsty blackjack players. If that's what being welcomed through the Pearly Gates feels like, sign me up. And if, through some clerical error upstairs, she's tending bar somewhere a little warmer... ...well, at least I know the cocktail service will be phenomenal. By the time we left, I'd probably spent almost $100 tipping dealers and cocktail staff, and I don't regret a penny of it. Casinos often try to impress you with marble floors, giant chandeliers, and flashy architecture. Mardi Gras Casino impressed me with something much rarer. People. Wonderful dealers. An unforgettable pit boss. Fantastic cocktail service. A table full of smart players. And enough laughter to carry us all the way to Pittsburgh. Five stars without hesitation. We'll be back. And when we do, somebody tell Dakota to shuffle up...we've got another three hours of stories to tell.

Shower head is kind of low... nipple height for a 6 foot person. I liked the breakfast bar. Staff was extremely friendly. The Casino was a blast. Despite losing, we felt the slots let you play and we could've left up earlier but we were having fun. We visit a lot of Casinos and this was definitely a good one

Hi everyone. Hope you are well. I've got a story to share about a local restaurant…read more I ordered pickup at Golden Wok in Nitro, WV today. I brought my youngest daughter with me into the restaurant to get the food. My daughter is non-verbal autistic and makes audible sounds on a regular basis. She was doing this in the restaurant as I was paying and getting our food. The young man taking my order stared at my daughter, which is a common thing. When I gave him my credit card, he didn't look at me. He continued to stare at my daughter. He then addressed me. "Sir; when you come to restaurant, can you not bring her in? She is making random sounds." I didn't say anything for a few seconds. Then he said the same thing again. I let him know that she won't be back, that I won't be back, and I'll do my best to make sure that l tell as many people as possible about this so that they won't get food from Golden Wok in Nitro, WV. The young man didn't say anything, then gave me my receipt to sign. I got my food and left. I'm still pretty angry. When I returned home, I called Golden Wok in Nitro, WV and asked to speak to a manager. I got a manager and let them know what happened, asked if this was a restaurant policy to not allow non-verbal autistic people who make "random sounds" into the restaurant, and, if so, would make sure to inform as many people as I can. The person I talked to on the phone said that is it not a policy to discriminate, apologized, said it would be addressed with staff, and would check with the owner if this was indeed a restaurant policy. I haven't received a call from the owner yet and it's been over an hour since my phone call. I'm don't think I'm getting that call. So if you're still reading this, im asking you to not order food from Golden Wok in Nitro, WV. I will not be ordering from them again. Have a great rest of your weekend.

We started the evening scouring the menu for tonight's choices and settled on pierogies and falafel for an appetizer. The warm pierogies with potato and cheese filling had the right amount of creamy texture with the perfect crunch. The falafel with tahini and garlic sauce completed the appetizer. I saved some of the tahini sauce to have with the falafel wrap. The pita bread filled with falafel and veggies, accompanied by a side of tahini sauce, was the perfect balance for an evening meal. I noticed quite a few people coming in for dessert, which included the cheesecake. Admittedly, I was too full to enjoy the cheesecake at the restaurant, so I ordered a baklava cheesecake to go. It was amazing! The crunchiness of the sweet baklava paired with the cheesecake is a perfect balance to the tanginess of the cheesecake. The quality of ingredients and flavors used are perfect in every dish. The selection of food choices is hand-selected and crafted to perfection. Phenomenal restaurant! I felt like I was back in the Mediterranean enjoying a great evening meal.

As a side I got the tomato cucumber salad which was also very good. The chef came out near the end of dinner to check on us and see how we were doing. We sat outside on the patio because it was a lovely evening so I can't really speak to the ambiance but the patio was very nice!!
