This place was so full around lunch and you can tell why. The food is all very fresh and good. My favorites were the coconut shrimp and Hong Kong chicken. I struggled with the sushi bar it had trays for 6 varieties and only three had offerings and those were plain tuna roll, plain salmon roll or cucumber and cream cheese. And while the food was amazing, the staff bussing and refilling drinks were few and far between, we had to flag someone down for refills multiple times. Noel and I stopped at King's China Buffet for lunch on our way to the garage to get my baby out. I love my car! It's older, nothing special but I love it. We were greeted and seated immediately and literally dove into the buffet of chicken goodness! I tried to get a smig of everything and I was definitely not disappointed Our waitress was very attentive with refilling our drinks. Definitely recommend and definitely going back. The waitress only brought us 2 refills of water each but that's not my complaint. My complaint is that when we went to pay for the food, i reach in my wallet to give a tip. I tried giving her all the ones i had which added up to around 10 dollars and i was laughed at and stared at for around 10 seconds until i wrote in a higher tip from my card and then we were left alone and told thank you. I have never had an experience like that in any restaurant, especially a buffet where the waitresses only have to bring drink refills. I will never return after being laughed at, belittled, and unappreciated by someone for trying to give them money. read more

I went to China King Buffet at the River Walk Mall once when it first opened back in 2020 and I wasn't too impressed. After three years, I decided to try it again for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised. The sushi rolls were big and filled with a ton of meat. The stuffed mushrooms were way larger than the China Buffet's in Kanawha City. The coconut shrimp really hit the spot. I could make a meal on it alone. I'm pretty sure their lunch buffet is one of the cheapest around at $11.29 plus tax. The only thing that wasn't quite as good, in my opinion, was that mayonnaisey broccoli stuff. It had a sour taste. Wanted to try this place since it is closer than China Buffet in Kanawha city. Ordered buffet takeout and it was absolutely delicious! The black pepper chicken, coconut shrimp, green beans, rice noodles, low mein, and salt & pepper shrimp are so tasty. I got enough for dinner plus lunch the next day for about $11...not a bad deal in this economy. The place is very clean and staff friendly. read more

Crispy, fresh, and perfectly prepared Crab Rangoon: Very yummy. We also ordered General Tsao's and Shrimp Lo Mein. Both were standard Chinese takeout, but nonetheless satisfying. We like Lo Mein a little more smoky than what China King offers, but that's the only minor complaint. Ordering through the app (Yelp, with ordering via GrubHub) was very easy and the restaurant was very prompt with receiving and prepping the order for pickup. BE AWARE!!!! They charge you for dinner Buffet prices when you try to get a lunch buffet to go. On their own website, lunch Buffet show that it is 4.59 and they charge 5.99. Check your receipts! For a 2 pound Buffet to go, that's three extra dollars that they are getting out of you! My son went into the restaurant tonight with his service dog. The dog is clearly vested and well trained. The staff immediately began to speak in Chinese to one another to decide where to seat our family instead of just seating us like everyone else. They said they were worried about the other customers. From what? We have visited every other restaurant in Charleston with no problem. They sat us in the furthest corner and told us to put his dog against the wall. I tried to explain to them that they wouldn't tell a person in a wheelchair to put their wheelchair in the corner. They did not understand or care. We should have been treated like any other family, dog or not. Other customers were upset and left, too. One last asked if she needed to "throw hands." We left and will never go back. read more

I found this little jewel of a Chinese restaurant tucked into a corner at Riverwalk Mall in South Charleston while visiting my mother from out of state. the food was cold, the crab ragoons were sour and really small, the rice was gritty and when I got my plate I tried everything and didn't eat anything because it was cold and gross, it tasted old.
