Horrible customer service. Very rude and short both on the phone and via text. Thought it was originally because of my wife but he was rude with me as well. He was contacted via Rheem to help us but was very short with details and didn't want to travel(this part is more understandable). Nor did he want to take time to contact us back. I asked for an update and simply received a text back saying "We're going to pass". Cool. This isn't all on this company, Rheem takes the blunt of it considering their water heater has caused all the issues but French Connection didn't help in anyway possible. Only added to the stress. I can't comment on the value money wise but personality wise it felt very poor. Hopefully other folks have a nicer experience and the work is proper but for my experience it was nothing but a 1 star experience. read more

Frenchie & his crew were amazing! We recently had to replace our water heater. Another plumber had installed it and all seemed fine. However we weren't getting hot water after the installation. The water would get hot, then mysteriously start to cool to lukewarm. The original plumber came back out twice but couldn't find the issue. We ended up being referred to Frenchie by another one of his clients. His crew was just here today and troubleshooted everything it could possibly be. It was a journey to say the least but they finally diagnosed the issue and were able to find a solution. Fred & Jesus were professional and friendly. Just bought my first home and according to the inspections we needed to have the sewer line replaced so the sellers of the home hired Frenchy to fix the pipe mid May and literally everything just finished today 7/9/2020. I get Covid pushed stuff back but I feel like that was a verrryy long time to get everything done and signed off. 1/2 way through fixing the sewer I get a call from frenchy saying that now the main water line needs to be replaced because it's gonna blow, so I tell him "okay well since the hole is already dug in the ground go ahead and fix that too". Another $5.5k on top of the $7.7k for the sewer line. Once I casually was talking to a family member about the prices he had a heart attack and told me the company literally "r*ped me financially". So, there's that. After the work was completed the inspector tells us we didn't pass for x, y, and z. And now 1/2 the concrete in my backyard needs to be dug up and everything needs to be redone. At this point we had moved into the house beginning of June and we have a 2 year old so telling her she couldn't go outback was fun. After they were done with the actual labor they didn't do any clean up. There's literally broken pieces of plastic pipe all over my backyard that I keep finding everyday. As well as metal pipes. Idk how other companies operate as this is the first encounter I've ever had with plumbing issues like this, but I mean, at least pick up the broken pipes everywhere next time? Also, possibly unrelated but the timing sucks, they may have broken my sprinkler system because ever since it was turned off for them to do work it won't turn back on. Which in turn killed my entire lawn. And the cherry on top for me is that we were supposed to get married in our backyard this October so who knows if that'll happen with the way the backyard came out of this. I hired The French Connection Plumbing on July 22, 2023 to install a garbage disposal and to replace the fill valve in my toilet tank. Within an hour, technician Fred arrived at my house. He was professional, neat and clean and polite. He went to work on the garbage disposal immediately and installed the new one quickly while taking great care not to damage anything. Once completed he immediately started on the toilet fill valve. Again he was quick and efficient. Toward the end of the project, the owner Gerard and his wife showed up in order to make sure the job was going smoothly and that I was satisfied. The price quoted was way below every one else I called and there was no up selling nor was there any bait and switch. Everything works perfectly and I could not be more satisfied. A very knowledgeable plumber from French Connection Plumbing arrived on time and was very pleasant and listened carefully to what I needed. Not only did he remove the unwanted gas piping and capping it off at the gas meter but he took the bad rusted pipe with him. i expected it to be left to me to dispose of. A section of this pipe was under an uprooted slab of concrete but that didn't stop him from finding a way to remove it. He also dug up the termination piece of the pipe line which was mostly underground and discovered it had a hole in it, This discovery might have prevented some serious damage or even a tragedy had we ever tired to use this gas line. I highly recommend The French Connection and will use them again in the future. They are very professional and the price for my project was more then fair. read more

I've used French Connection twice now, and will recommend them every time. Gerard is the owner (he really is French, journeyman plumbing educated in France), and his crew (Fred and Kahlil) are the most skilled craftsmen I've ever encountered. These men can actually THINK and utilize creative problem solving skills to resolve any issue. Their rates are more than reasonable. They will not abandon a job half done, and will work until you are satisfied! The first call was to remedy a problem that another plumber created. Other plumber tried to snake my clogged shower drain and the tip of his snake broke off. He said, "your drain broke my snake, now you'll have to tear up your ceiling to access the p-trap from below and replace it." Excuse me? You broke your own equipment and abandoned it in my house! I was going to get a second opinion before I let anyone tear up my ceiling and the 50 yr old hot mop with vintage mosaic tile at the base of my shower for all that. Good thing I found Gerard and French Connection. He sent Fred out to take care of the job. Fred used duct tape and a strong magnet at the end of a coat hanger to fish out the broken snake bit the other plumber abandoned. Took him less than a dollars worth of materials and six minutes to solve what other plumber was going to tear my house up for! Further, Fred used the camera, high pressure water jet, and finally some effective chemicals to remove 50 years of gunk from my drain line. A+ work. The second visit was a year later, this time for the basement shower (pipes in slab concrete), water was backing up in both the shower and the basement tub. Fred came back and wouldn't give up until both drains ran clear. While he was out, I also had him take care of some leaky hose bibs in my yard. First class work and service. Fred REALLY went the extra mile on the way out though... As he was pulling away from my house, unbeknownst to me, my elderly neighbor flagged him down. They hollered, "Do you have a shovel in your truck? There is a rattlesnake in my yard!" Fred said, "Yes, but I can't deal with a snake for you." "That's ok" they said, "just give me the shovel and hold my dog." So Fred handed over the shovel and stood there holding leash while this octogenarian dispatched a rattlesnake. I couldn't believe it. We have had a horrible experience working with Gerard, the owner of French Connection Plumbing. We sent them to fix a leak on a fire hydrant at a property we manage for the owner. Gerard, knowing he was not licensed to repair a leak in the fire hydrant, sent and employee to dig it up. He had his employee "dig for 8 hours" (so he claimed) and the result of all that labor was a hole the size of a kitchen waste basket. Then he told us he was not licensed to work on it and said he would get us a bid from someone who was. 2 months later, we never got a bid but he then billed $1600 for labor. The property owner refused to pay for the ridiculous invoice and offered to settle for a reasonable amount. Gerard harassed our staff continually for payment and eventually sued us in small claims court where his price for services that day had been increased to over $4K. We offered him $200 to settle - but he belligerently bellowed to us that he was insulted and he has never lost a small claims court case (big red flag). When the judge heard our case and questioned him, he became combative with her, admonishing her that "this is a simple case". The judges verdict was that we did not owe Gerard / French Plumbing anything - ZERO $$. In addition, Gerard asked one of our young employees how much he would have to pay her to go to a hotel room with him. He is loud, ignorant, foul, and creepy. Stay far away from him and his plumbing "Service". Don't let him in your home. read more

Here is my sewer saga: A company I wont name but it rhymes with Roto-Zero came to my backed up rental unit, ran a camera down the pipe and told me I had a "belly" and would happily fix it for $32,000 ..yes thousand dollars. Naturally I wanted to get a second opinion and I happened to see French Connection on a truck going down the freeway and I called. I got a real character named Gerard, a bona fide and endlessly entertaining Frenchman. He gave me a very reasonable bid of a fraction of what Zero quoted to do the repair. Not satisfied there he reviewed the cam footage Zero shot and told me in his opinion the work quoted did not need to be done and if there was a belly it was very minor. After carefully explaining all this to me he proposed to solve my very vexing problem with jetting the blockage for $550 and it worked beautifully. I absolutely would have paid him the amount for the unneeded repair if he had asked and if he had not suggested the jetting. We purchased a new refrigerator from RC Wiley and had them install it. Later that evening we noticed the waterline at the wall was leaking that RC Wiley installers broke. Water was leaking into the garage, our kitchen and garage share the same wall. At 10:00 PM that evening I left messages with a handful of local plumbers to try and get someone out ASAP.
