Freedom Forever contacted me by cold call and I was charmed by their sales rep. I signed my contracts in mid-summer of 2021. Then--months of nothing. Delay after delay with no communication. Any information I got had to be initiated by me--no updates, no reassurance. Yes, things are bad because of the pandemic, but an email or text to let me know all is well would have made all the difference. I was beginning to worry I had been scammed by a fake representative. My panels were finally installed just last month, and the only introduction I got to my hugely expensive system was a plastic booklet tucked into the meter. Also, the sales rep really did lead me to believe that my loan payment would replace my APS bill, which turns out not to be true--I'm worried I'll be paying more now than I was before. Beware there is a SCAM going on. Freedom Forever partners with Sunrun employees Jesùs Guzman and his Supervisor Armando Martinez said to me that they were from an energy efficient program where they were offering energy efficient appliance to homeowners. They said that I qualified for a free energy efficient appliance and free no contract solar panels that could be canceled and removed at anytime. I said I needed all this in writing and Jesus emailed to me. They said this was a program only for homeowners and that they needed my DOB and the last four of my social to verify that I was the homeowner because sometimes tenants lie that they are owners. Then with my information they ran my credit without my authorization. They opened emails under my name to receive 25 year contracts and to forge my signatures on the contracts. They immediately came to my home took my roof tiles apart to install panels. Now they are taking forever to restore back my roof even though they are aware of the fraud and forgery that was committed by there employees. Jesus said he does this all the time and the company is okay with it. Jesus and Armando have offered me $5,000, $8,000 and now $10,000 to lie and say that I signed those contracts that amount to over $200,000 that were never presented to me. Thanks to Oscar another employee from Freedom calling me I was able to find out about the fraud committed against me by Freedom Forever parters with Sunrun employees. Oscar called me to ask me if I wanted to take out another type of loan on one of my properties because it is a comercial property . I let Oscar know that I never took out any loans for the panels that the Jesus and Armando had told me it was an energy efficient free program with no contract that could be cancelled at anytime. He asked me if an email on file was my email address. I said no. That is when Oscar realized that they had created 4 emails to send contracts to and forge my signature on them. I asked Oscar to email me all of the contracts that I had never received nor signed. I added Jesus and then Armando to the telephone call and they had the audacity to say it was not a loan. Oscar said that they were giving me incorrect information. I filed a police report I have a video on my security cámara where Jesus says it's free a program, where they force and break my electrical gate open to install panels and pictures of how they took my tiles off my roof. I have provided the videos and photos to Freedom Forever and Sunrun. Freedom Forever and Sunrun need to do the right thing : Restore my properties and the roofs back, remove the panels that were placed on one of my properties. cancel all the forged contracts that I never received . They need to stop these scams. Update: I recently spoke to Miriam Cardenas From Freedom Forever and she says this is under investigation. What is there to investigate the proof is all there. Jesus Guzman and Armando Martinez gave me fake paperwork and created 5 emails addresses under my name to get paper work that I never saw, where they forged my signature. I have provided Miriam with lots of fraud evidence: Text messages where Jesus and Armando say they that there is no financing or lease involved that this is a program can be cancelled at anytime and the panels would be removed. Videos of Freedom Forever employees forcing and breaking my electric gate to install panels.,a police report, videos and audios of the representatives saying that there is no financing or Leaseing is the solar panels and that there are monetary incentives for this energy efficient program. This company was incapable of installing a ground-mount system. They sent a crew that had no idea what they were doing. They had to hire a company from N. Calif to complete the installation. The also don't monitor the system correctly so when the inverter box failed, before they replaced it, I incurred nearly $1000 in PG&E monthly charges that they won't reimburse. Installation took 4 months to happen after signing contract though it was installed in a single day. The system worked for two days then quit. It took 2 months to get a service call despite calling every other day for 6 weeks. They kept cancelling the service ticket. After two months they finally came and said the Solar Edge inverter was bad and it would take another month to get a replacement and schedule another service call. The people that you talk to on the phone cannot contact the actual service department and can only tell you it will take 10-14 days to get a service call scheduled, even when you talk to a floor supervisor. Lousy way to treat customers. I should have chosen another company. Do not use Freedom forever, if this is how they treat new customers there is no way they are going to be around long enough to service the lifetime of the panels. Frustration is an understatement. Their process and communication is horrendous, and we are still waiting for our solar panels and battery to be interconnected after signing with them in August -- it's April! Here is the backstory: We agreed to go with Freedom Forever for a solar and batter installation back in August 2020 and signed an agreement with them then. They then told us that the Tesla battery would not be available until Q1 2021, so we could get a different battery or wait. We decided to wait, since we really just want the battery ready for fire season when our power may go off. They finally tell us in January that the battery has been sourced so we can sign more paperwork. In February, they texted us one day before they had a crew ready and sent 12 guys out (some of them without masks during the pandemic). They complete 90% of the job -- adding the panels, installing a new circuit breaker panel, putting up the Telsa battery in our garage, but they ran out of time and didn't finish the job to wire the battery to the circuit breaker. We assumed they'd be back soon. They never got back to us. I emailed the various people that have been in touch with us about the process -- they literally didn't respond. I called a month later, and they said the application is awaiting review (meaning it's sitting there). They told us they would get back to us, and didn't. I emailed again -- no response. They went to my house and offer the service, they said they will install the panels enough to supply for my power usage, an inspector came and check every single electronic device so they can install the right amount of panels. Now I still getting my reliant bill for $160-$245 MONTHLY because they dont produce enough energy for my house so I ended up having 2 bills for a 25 years term because I still have to pay $212 for my loan plan with them. So now I pay electricity for at least $360 to almost $500!!!! I was given fake advertising. We canceled our order 3 days later, (the first business day since our initial meeting on Friday evening). They cashed the check after our cancellation request and have not refunded us. It has been over 3 months and MULTIPLE attempts to contact them. They (are now saying that the principal company is Freedom Forever and that we need to deal with them... Freedom Forever installed my Solar Panels! They never called and told me system was working. For the first 3 months my system was underperforming. I was getting double billed by Edison and Sunrun who they did the work for. It took 3 months for them to correct the problem. By then I was overbilled by $496.38. Good products... but they operate with minimal staff. They are reliant on automated software riddled with issues and problems. Zero customer contact or dialog. They are reliant on a sales associates that are not direct employees with the company. Some of these individuals understand solar design, but lack project management skills. Issue 1: From our perspective, we felt as though we were working with a third party sales person (Manny) and a separate third party company (Freedom Forever) who were not in sync. Issue 2: After waiting over 90 days and missed deadlines, we found out they never arranged for a SDGE survey and permit. They gave SDGE the wrong contact information. Sales rep transposed numbers. SDGE says no appts for 8 weeks (2019). We re-signed the contract over 10 times! 10 times because the processes between the sales person and freedom forever don't work. Inaccurate surveys. Add the fact the sales rep and FF don't talk. They rely on a poorly implemented software automation. No calling each other as a back up. We were told 3-4 weeks for installation (which we took as embellished a bit). We figured it would really be 6-8 weeks based on other estimates. It was nearly a month before someone even showed up to survey our 10Kw project in Poway. After a few roof tiles cracked, they said they would return 3 days later to repair and re-survey (lighter weight guy). Came and repaired at the 8 week mark. They kept raising they price - rose nearly 20%. Each time they would present a new contract, FF would see the previous contract null and void without notification. They wouldn't move forward without more money. Sign another contract (which by the way consists of 20-30 initials). Every time. FF would point at the sales rep. The sales rep points at FF. We just figured if they viewed contract 11 as null, and presented contract 12, we would cancel using the three day cancelation clause they re-envoked by asking us to sign again. Bottom line, FF feels no obligation to any contract it enters into with a customer. We agreed to pay them all the additional costs, but they just never viewed us as their customer. They saw us as the sales rep's customer, not an FF customer. I mentioned this. They said until installation is complete, we're not really on their radar. Sad we invested the time. read more

Freedom Forever installed our solar in March 2018, with a production guarantee of 12,357 but the average for the first 2 years the system produced 6069.64. I've turned in a 3rd year System Performance request with no response. Customer service and communication is definitely not their strong point. I've been working on a resolution since November of 2020 and am now filing complaints with the Contractors State License Board, the BBB, the Attorney General for CA and the PUC as I feel I have no choice. read more

My experience with freedom forever has not been good. What they tell you that you are going to save on money is not true I pay basically the same as I paid before the panels when I add the electricity bill, with the payment of the solar system incredibly after installing my solar panels I bought a more efficient air conditioning unit and still continue to pay the same in the summer as when I did not have the solar panels. Not to mention that in the winter I pay more than when I didn't have the solar panels. In November 2022 I had problems with the water heater and the problem was related to a relay that they installed, I called technical support they sent someone to solve the problem by then we did not know that it was that relay the technician found the problem removed the relay and told me that they had to order the part and that maybe in two or three weeks they would return to install it.That was on November 14, 2022, as of today, January 4, 2023, no one came back to fix my problem. I decided to call them to see what had happened . In order not to make the longest history, they told me that they had already solved their part of the problem and that they can no longer do anything for me that already corresponds to another company that I don't even know who they are because I didn't do business with that company. Anyway, don't believe the story that you are going to generate so much energy that in the end SRP will end up paying you for what you generate and don't use because if it's true that they buy the energy you don't use at 0.03 cents and at night when they don't generate your panels they resell you for .14 cents. Unfortunately, I had some issues with my installation & my flat roof began leaking under the panels, BUT they were Johnny on the spot with their response!! If I could give a half star I would. I signed up with Freedom Forever back in April of 2022. I JUST got my solar panels installed on 12/27/2022 and they can't even turn them on until some time in February. When confronted with this, FF says it is because my utility company hasn't signed off on it. Well, my utility company got the information they needed in June, they were backlogged and informed me that it would take 3 months to get to everything. They were right; in September, my utility company (NBU) said they were unable to process everything because FF owed them over $1000 from something unrelated to me. It took FF 2 months to pay that. so, in November, they got cleared to do everything. I get a call from FF that said they were ready to install at the end of Dec. I ask if I can get everything done and ready to go and was told, no because NBU needed to sign off on it. When I told them they gave that permission months ago, they came up with an excuse about product supply issues and having to come up with a new plan and having to resubmit and NBU is really slow and blah blah blah. Whatever. I just got a bill from the solar company for the solar panels that were installed but now I can't use because FF doesn't have their stuff together and can't seem to function like an actual company. So disappointed in the whole process here. My original contact stopped responding to me. We started the process in Sept of last year. Got things finalized in October and was told install could happen at the end of the month. That got pushed to Nov 11/2019. Panels went in and then the fun started. I was assured many times my system would be completed before the end of the year as I was concerned about getting the full tax benefit. Well, here we are in March and I am still waiting. Three times now "Final inspection" has been scheduled only to fall apart. I called after the first scheduled inspection and told them they still had more work to do. I was assured that they would complete the remaining work before the inspection. Inspector left because they were not ready. Second time they called to inform me of the final inspection I told them the underground electrical STILL was not completed. They sent crew out and had to get dig alert mark out. Jump ahead to this past Friday for my third final inspection attempt. Wife said crew left at noon and never returned. I have a trench blocking my driveway and no response or update from FF as to why. There are many solar options out there. Pick any of them as long as it isn't Freedom Forever. There have been other goof ups but I am not writing a novel here Our system was finally placed into service in May 2020. After looking at production in the customer portal I found production was less than usage every day and the battery that we added was draining down in two hours at night. Very expensive option to run two circuits for only two hours. FF came out and determined the meter was wired incorrectly and fixed the problem. Production is now as it should be and I honestly have not checked battery drain as I am stuck with that either way. I will say that since Mary Anno got involved communication was much better. I cannot improve on the overall rating by much as quality control was a problem throughout the project to the very end. If I had not checked production on my own and known what I was looking at it would not have been addressed. I was afforded time to discuss my issues with Mary Anno and time will tell if the QC issues are addressed and taken to heart. DAWN G FREEDOM FOREVER FLORIDA, LLC- DON'T DO IT, YOU'LL REGRET IT!! SCOTT SWATSCHENO- SALES PERSON The installation was as promised. Pricing was as promised, yet a slow start to success. There were problems with the system, where it was not actually turned on, yet we had already started our payments. This went on for a few months. We gave benefit to the doubt as they say, hoping it was simply "growing pains." Fast forward 6 months from November 2021: Every month we were receiving bills from our electric company, FPL. We thought maybe, again, transitioning from electric to solar where we were told this would cut out electric bills PERMANATELY! We were so excited about that! So the FPL bills kept coming, MONTH AFTER MONTH! Not only that, but they were INCREASING MONTH AFTER MONTH!!!! This is now April 4, 2023, we are receiving, average bills up to now, $130 to $149 PLUS our solar bill of $73 (which was the one charge for 18 months, then it would increase to $100, which takes effect this month. DO THE MATH!!! WE WILL NOW BE PAYING $230-$250 PER MONTH FOR ELECTRICITY....PAYING TWO COMPANIES FOR POWER!!! IF WE DON'T PAY FPL, THEY SHUT OUR POWER, SOLAR????? WE ARE STUCK WITH IT FOR 25 YEARS!!! We have opened complaints 2 times with Freedom Forever/ Mosaic, which is the loan company. Both times it takes several days to even get someone to answer the phone, when we leave a message, it takes days to get a call back! When we finally talk to someone, it comes down to the same "robotic script," I'm sorry sir, but "THE SYSTEM IS DOING WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO!" We, of course debate that with conviction, "It IS NOT DOING WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO OR WE WOULD NOT BE PAYING TWO COMPANIES FOR POWER!!!" As usual, they say they will take it to their supervisor, or whoever, and get back to us within ten days. Well, that is probably the ONLY thing that they are true to their word on. For the second time, the result is also consistent, we get a response not by a phone call, but via email, "Sorry Sir, the system is doing what it is supposed to do." THIS IS INFURIATING!! The bills continue to come in from FPL monthly. We still think this is miscommunication, for 4-5 months, the bills were coming in, but they were "manageable," if that even makes sense. So we contacted FPL again to find out what was going on with their end..... Come to find out, we were producing ample amounts of "kilowatts" to the grid, which reduces our bill from November 2021 to August 2022. From that point on the panels stopped producing, unbeknownst to us!! Who knew that once you aren't an FPL customer, per say, your bills stop coming, which we thought was normal. The bills, however, display what is being produced from the solar panels, how your bill is affected. Month by month is was producing less and less, but our bills weren't THAT HIGH YET because we had such a surplus for about 6 months, that the surplus was paying our FPL electric bills!! There was NO WAY to know until it had been going on for months, without warning or knowledge to consider the possibility!! "DOING WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO DO??????" What does that mean??????? We are married to this thing for 25 years!!!!!!!!! We are and older couple, I work full-time, my husband is retired!!! Who can afford this???????? There's inflation as we all know, we were skeptical about this initially. But we ARE SHOCKED and totally disappointed in ourselves that we were taken by this company! The sales person named Scott Swatscheno assured us in EVERY doubt, EVERY concern! He NEVER CALLED US BACK once we became wise of this awful situation!!!! He also assured us that if we were double billed for some reason, we would be reimbursed!! NEVER HAPPENED!!!!!!!! DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!! WHAT WE WERE NOT TOLD: 1. Because we are using FPL's meters, we are charged at LEAST $35 fee for that. NEVER TOLD. 2. We weren't aware of the importance and/or the possibility of our panels not functioning properly and/or stopping to produce kilowatts going to the grid!!! But 'THEY ARE DOING WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO!' 3. We had contacted FPL on May 25, 2022 hoping that these bills were erroneously calculated, or wrong customers. Instead we spoke to an agent that gave us the bad news: Our system went down since May 15th and our panels were not producing enough electricity. She also told us that if a system goes down like this, for no reason why, the company, FREEDOM FOREVER is supposed to put new panels on. Freedom Forever's Response: "THEY ARE DOING WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO!" No wonder they call it Freedom FOREVER!!!!! LIES INCOMPETENCE POOR TREATMENT I have never seen a company more incompetent and lie so much and then treat the customer as if all the issues were their fault. I signed my contract October 27, 2020. As of today October 8, 2021 (YES ALMOST A FULL YEAR LATER) I do not have a single panel installed nor are they moving to cancel the contract as stated multiple times by the sales rep Mike B. I was assured that at any time prior to panels being installed I could cancel the contract without issue. The first time I tried canceling the contract was maybe 10 months ago. Some woman from CA (I'm in CO) said that wasn't possible I had to cancel within 3 days of signing the contract. Whatever, they actually started to do something and I thought I would have an install soon. Nope. The next time I tried to cancel was maybe 3 months later. This time they put me in touch with Chris D. from their customer retention department. That department alone should make you want to run far away from this company. Anyway he assured me things were moving and I would have an install soon. Nope. The next time I tried canceling I had a quote from another company for a larger system and $15k cheaper. They dropped their price $10k and said install was soon so I stuck it through. The next time I was going out of town for business and they claimed to have the contractor ready to come dig the trench needed for the job. The problem was NOBODY thought it necessary to mark my utility lines. The trench was to run across an existing electrical and propane line. This was compounded by the fact that my lines are considered private and 811 doesn't mark those so a private company had to do the work. Anyway I gave them a date range to get it done or I was finally done. My circumstances changed and I tried unsuccessfully at first to let Chris know. When I finally got ahold of him (what a chore that is) the trench was scheduled to be completed 3 weeks early. I thought finally we're getting somewhere. Nope. The trench was dug but NOBODY scheduled the inspection nor the panel installation. More than 2 weeks after the trench was dug I still had an open hazard in my yard. This time I called MOSAIC to cancel my loan because my emails and texts were being ignored. Also, this is what Chris told me to do before the trench was dug. I explained to them everything that had happened and their rep could only laugh with me at Freedom's incompetence. After that phone call I was hounded by both Mike and Chris both of them promising that they could do in TWO days what they couldn't do in the previous 11 months. It was too late. Life happens and now we need to sell our house and this is one hassle we don't need yet still fighting with because they REFUSE to admit their mistake and cancel the contract. During the hounding Chris is bullying me into proceeding by telling me I owe the company $8500 for the trench that was dug. Sorry pal, I've done construction a 45ft trench does not cost $8500. Besides if Freedom had done their job 12 months ago I wouldn't be sitting here writing this. If they did their job 9 months ago or 6 months ago or 3 months ago or even 3 weeks ago I would not be sitting here writing this. They failed every step of the way and refused to accept any blame putting it all back on me and then saying my wife wasn't professional when she told them to shove it. I think a mirror needs to be used. Did I mention that I've been paying on this system even though it's not installed?!? I'm supposed to be reimbursed but that's not happening either!!! Freedom Forever is the worst company EVER!! It basically took over a year of having my panels installed to actually have them working. Luckily I'm not the type to sit around and get screwed up the ass, I made them pay for my solar payment for a whole year. I was also told that the amount of panels that I have on my home would work to cover my cost of electricity for the summer here in AZ. Huge Lie!! I still have been paying well over $200 a month on top of my panel payment. This is so not worth it considering my bill would be nothing during the cool months. I was also told that I would be getting a $10,000 dollar grant back from the state and that never happened and was a huge reason why I decided to do this. buyer beware!!! you will be lied to buy the salesman, and the company stating they are going to help you when there is a problem. you will not be helped. you will get told to not run you're your washer and dryer during the night. i cannot begin to tell you how horrible this company treats thier customers. read more
