This business was previously listed under Deckover Pool Retirement. Here is my review copied over to Freedom Decks by Retire my Pool, Jeff Getz, President:
Since we were no longer using our pool, the cost of chemicals, electricity and pool care assistance no longer made sense. We looked into options and converting the pool to a deck seemed the best choice.
We found Deckover Pool Retirement through an internet search which included Rosie on the House and contacted Craig to discuss our pool. Craig explained the procedure and materials, verified the size of the pool through city records, and provided the cost to convert to a deck. After we agreed to move forward, he came out for a thorough site visit, plus the option to help drain the pool.
We then scheduled Reggie to come out and measure the pool. The information was provided to John who came out and completed building the wood foundation on top of which the composite deck of our color choice was precisely cut and put down on day one. On day two a door was created to allow going below the deck and a small pump installed into the pool light fixture as a source of electricity to run the pump if water were to enter the old pool below the deck in the future. All the debris was then thoroughly cleaned before Reggie came back to do a final inspection.
At the end, Reggie went over the final packet of papers including the 25 year warranty for the composite deck, and a future visit to check if any adjustments are needed.
Overall, everything was done very professionally. Scheduling was very easy, everyone was very pleasant and everything was explained in detail.
Regarding cost, our pool was fairly small, and compared to other options like filling in a pool, this option was also the most affordable. However, depending on your budget it can still be very expensive, so it's best to call and discuss the project plus obtain an estimate to see if it is an affordable option for you.
In our case given how much we were spending to manage the pool, the amount we spent to convert to a deck will break even after several years.
The pictures on their web site are very accurate and our deck is very similar to those shown online.
