At the agreed upon time, Elvis, the owner, arrived with Corey, one of the team members, to review the project. They provided detailed information on the work that would need to be performed and the cost. It was all very professional and, I must say, quite impressive. When I accepted the quote, a date and time to complete the project was set. Elvis, Corey, and Chase arrived on time and began the work. They kept me updated on what was being done to correct the problems. In my situation, the issue was several doors not closing appropriately, one of the doors being my very large, very heavy front door. When all work was complete, they invited me to check each of the doors to ensure it was working as I expected. They completed all of the necessary paint touch ups and did a very thorough clean up. The shower pan was installed with no liner....that's literally bathroom construction 101. Which means I'm going to have to rip out both shower pans and have them redone costing me thousands of dollars and delaying me renting out the property. Stay the hell away from Russ. This guy is a straight-up con artist who steals and leaves a trail of destruction and unpaid bills. The work he did/subbed out on my shower was a complete joke. It's leaking through the floor pan, rotting the baseboards, drywall, and flooring. I had to chase Russ down just to get the subcontractor's contact info--(don't forget, I paid half of the shower cost direct to the subcontractor when it was already in the budget and was Russ's responsibility but I needed the job done). Russ blew all the money I gave him and it was NOT on my job because he barely bought anything. When I finally called the subcontractor, he told me Russ NEVER paid him the other half--what a shock. The subcontractor promised to get back to me in a week, then promptly disconnected his phone. And I'm sure you can guess Russ quit answering my calls and texts. So not only did Russ steal money from me, but he also ripped off his own subcontractor and left me with a total mess. Russ is the definition of a crook. He'll leave you with unfinished work, unpaid contractors, and a pile of garbage that costs you even more to fix. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS. Worst experience ever.

Our salesman David was extremely patient with us as we deliberated all our choices (we were still considering traditional "cool" decking) and never pressured us or tried to upsell. In fact, he went out of his way to be sure we got the best price possible. Once we booked it, communication from the project manager was timely and professional; I was happy with the emails and texts I received updating me with the estimate, work timeline, and day-of information. On installation day, the crew (Martin, Francisco, and Jorge Sr.) were punctual, friendly, and efficient. They maintained an immaculate worksite, even laying down tarps in our driveway for where they'd be running the wheelbarrow across to the back yard. They worked solidly for their entire time on the job, but were friendly when I popped out with questions or to take photos. I was especially impressed with the care they took with the edging around our pool--I'm sure they sighed a bit when they saw all of the cutout edges and corners (what a job this would be!) but they cheerfully took it in hand and spent as much time on each joint as it took to make it perfect. They were so careful with trimming the edges of the grass so as to be able to trowel the rubberstone in a perfect arch all the way around--it looks absolutely beautiful. The attention to detail was above and beyond what I expected. I'm absolutely delighted with the look of the new deck. Our poor old deck was in such bad shape, and now the back yard is completely transformed. It's truly gorgeous! We (including all the grandbabies) spend virtually the entire summer in and around our pool, so having a softer, cooler surface than traditional "cool" deck is going to be a game-changer. At the beginning, they were very communicative and responsive, which gave me confidence in moving forward. However, once they received our money, their level of service noticeably changed. First, the project start was delayed by an extra week with no communication from their team. We had to reach out ourselves just to get an update. Second, midway through the project they contacted us about adding electricity to our built-in feature. Since the cost increase was minimal, we agreed. But when the project was completed, they told us they couldn't figure out the electrical component--and refused to refund the money we paid for that addition. Third, our front yard sprinkler valve has leaked three separate times over the past 14 months. Each time, it takes weeks to get someone out to repair it, which is incredibly frustrating. Fourth, I have left numerous voicemails, emails, and warranty requests asking to speak with a manager, and I have yet to receive any response. Lastly, during the first windstorm after installation, one of the lights was knocked over because it was not installed properly. The company refused to take responsibility for the improper installation. Overall, the lack of communication, accountability, and follow-through has been very disappointing. I would not recommend Straightline Landscaping based on our experience.

They even fixed other work performed by the pool contractor because they knew it would be a problem and they wanted to do the right thing. Not many contractors do that. The finished product is phenomenal! We love being in our backyard and sharing it with our neighbors and friends. Also, they have a great warranty program and a dedicated warranty team to help. Since they do a lot of work for the home builders you don't have to worry if they will be around to help after the job is done. Highly recommend them for your larger landscape needs.
