This is where I do a majority of our grocery shopping. This is a great location. It's huge, and covers a variety of needs outside of food. It reminds me of the Meier stores back home in IL or a super Kmart (but nicer). It is a very clean and well kept store. The layout is easy to navigate, They usually have pretty good sales on clothing and goods for your home. I get carters clothes for my son at 50-60% off typically. Their produce and meat/seafood always looks fresh and is reasonable priced. Their hot bar, deli sandwiches and sushi station always have some good options if you need something pre made and on the go. Customer service is excellent and the staff is super friendly and very helpful. I love Mariano's in Chicago, and believe this may be owned by the same company as they use the same simple truth genetic brands. Grocery shopping here is always a pleasant experience!

I do the majority of my grocery shopping at Fred Meyer in Eagle. At first it was due to being closer to my home, but now it's for other reasons too! The customer service is almost always outstanding!! I generally start out at Starbucks, making my way through produce, meat and then groceries, followed by seasonal and housewares if need be. I always have dealings with the meat/seafood counter and am pleased with the polite gentleman that greets me. Most recently, today to be exact, I used the personal shopper. It started last Sunday technically, when I was there doing my weekly shopping. I noticed a gal with this giant cart and on the end of it, it stated Personal Shopper. I then noticed a few people throughout the store with these same carts. They were fulfilling orders for other people and I was intrigued. I looked into it and the first three orders are free and then a mere $5/order after that. Sooooo, I got on my handy dandy app and ordered my groceries yesterday. Picked a date and time to pick them up, which I chose Saturday between 9-10am. I received a reminder text the morning of and arrived at 9:30. When I called per the instructions, Carlee answers the phone and was super polite. Turns out she was the same young lady I saw last weekend. I had noticed a free turkey with purchase and asked her about it and she said absolutely, letting me know if would just be a couple minutes for her to run into the store to get it for me. She wheeled the cart of bins out to my truck and explained a couple substitutes we received and let me know one item was out of stock. Carlee was fantastic and I hope she's always my personal shopper, she did a great job!! I know without a doubt, this saved me money and obviously saved me an hour of time too!!! I plan on doing this weekly now, picking my groceries up on the way home from work or while I'm out and about! Way to go Fred Meyer and Carlee, this is awesome and you've made me very happy!!

The drive to Eagle River from Anchorage may be a bit of a pain for some, especially in the wintertime.

Wow, well...fool me once, shame on you…read more Fool me twice, shame on me. I came here to write about a bad FedEx experience and realized...I have already written that exact same thing...and forgot about it. DO NOT SEND YOUR FEDEX PACKAGES HERE. The packages aren't being scanned when they arrive here, and so they look like they are on a truck for days. They will say "unavailable for pickup"...forever. And they are actually available for pickup. Here's my boring shipping story: Thursday morning at 5am the FedEx tracking said "on vehicle for delivery" and "should arrive before 9am". Then it updated to say, should arrive before end of day Thursday. Then it updated to say, should arrive by end of Friday (today). But, there was no new timestamp since the 5am vehicle scan... Since there was no time stamp on this package since 5am...I guessed that there probably is a scan that happens when the driver transfers the package to a FedEx/Walgreens for customer pickup...and maybe it didn't happen. I went to Walgreens, even though FedEx said "not available for pickup", and told them it was probably there, and the dimensions. They searched for it a little, and then tried to turn me away. I pointed to a box that could be it and was like "what about that?" and they were like "no, those are shipments for Walgreens, like our supplies and stuff" I pressed them further and they checked it, and it was mine. I signed for it on their scanner and a few seconds later got a push notification from FedEx "your item is now available for pickup!" These employees need more training and organization and/or FedEx needs to make sure these get scanned when they hand them over to Walgreens!

I wanted to avoid the crowds at the nearby Carrs across the street or go to the chaotic mess that is the midtown Walmart. This Walgreens location is located on the corner of Northern Lights Blvd. and Minnesota Dr. across from the Aurora Village Carrs and adjacent to Starbucks. One of the busiest intersections during rush hour, I had no desire to go to the supermarket and just wanted to be in a less crowded place. Granted, the supermarkets are cheaper for food items than Walgreens and they have larger selections, but I just wanted to do a quick in and out and not worry about parking. That was a mistake. The evening when I came in, most of the shelves were unbelievably barren or poorly stocked. I was hoping to get a few snack and drink items for the office and not have to spend additional money eating out on lunch break every day. That wasn't the case here. I was looking for 4 or 6 pack bottled water or ice tea to place in a fridge with limited space at work. Unfortunately, the Walgreens around town don't have bottle packs that size or on the times I was there, just 24/28 packs of bottled water. Ice tea bottles would have to be purchased separately. Looking at the shelves more closely, there were many empty areas in one aisle alone. It'd be a stretch to think that this store could sell out items consistently if Carrs across the way has a wider variety and discounts every single day. There are items that are better deals when they are on sale, but unavailability is a major issue. This was not a one-time thing. I have noticed that in the past several weeks every time I came in to get something. Another major problem here is their pharmacy. It was temporarily closed due to staffing and people who have prescriptions here would have to notify their doctor's office to arrange a pick up at a different location. I'm sure a lot of customers were not happy about that. The employees are friendly and helpful but their hands are tied as to the problems this store is having. This would have been a convenient spot to avoid Carrs if low inventory and being short-handed weren't a common occurrence here.

1pm: AWFUL!!! They had my prescriptions (2) since Thursday. I'm down to my last pill today (Monday…read moreafternoon). Still not filled. They're out of one. Waiting in lobby. My ride is waiting. NO COMMUNICATION!!!! 3pm: Guy at front desk said prescription should be filled anywhere in town. He said he'd put it in Walgreens anywhere in town. Went to another location. They said they had no record of that second prescription that the first place couldn't fill.

Easiest 1-star of my life…read more I've spent 2-3 hours here over 4 visits annnnd...I still don't have my prescription. It all started with my prescription being sent to the *other* Walgreens on Northern Lights. That one no longer has a pharmacy. I naively assumed the script would be transferred to this location. I waited in line here for an hour to find out that was not the case. The line was probably an hour because Walgreens is shutting down pharmacies. So I called my doctor and had them re-send the script. I then came back 3 hours later and...they didn't know what I was talking about and told me to take a chair. It was getting late and I was starving so I left. I came back the next morning when they opened up the pharmacy and there was already an enormous line. My food order was done at Spenard Roadhouse and it looked like I still had another 20 minutes in line so I left so my food wouldn't get cold. I came back later in the day and waited 30 minutes in line and they told me they didn't have a phone number for me and would text me when it's available. FINALLY. Why did they not just do this from the start? (It's now 4 hours later and I still haven't gotten a text) So one more wait in line and I should finally have it. The parking lot here is filthy. Filled with debris and detritus that could damage your tires or footwear. I saw someone doing intravenous injections near the door on one of my visits to wait in line. Rough spot.
