Absolutely appalled by the way management, James, treats his employees. For context, it's 5 degrees…read moretoday with wind, and it's raw cold out. A young girl named Sarah came in, clearly freezing, trying to warm her hands, cheeks completely red. James, the manager, was degrading in his tone to her, in front of multiple people including customers like myself, and said "did you get all the carts?" To which she responded "I came in to try to..." and then he interrupted her again, in an aggressive tone, and said "did you get ALL the carts? Go back out there." Dude. Come on. Be a better human. I realize I don't know the back story, but I'm a leader of an organization too and this was absolutely sickening. If you needed to make a correction it should have been in private. Also- It's cold, the CARTS are not a big deal- humans are. If the carts are a big deal, put some gloves on and go help your employees- it's not rocket science. When I went out to help her because she was clearly embarrassed, she was nearly in tears. I absolutely plan to contact higher management and report this abusive behavior- by the way, multiple employees witnessed it and I have their names too. Do better. Be better. Or find another job where you don't have the privileged RESPONSIBILITY to be a leader of humans.

We went in for things like water, and what not and left with more. But of course we did. One thing we found coffee syrups, sugar free ones at that. They have a bigger selection then Costco so we loaded up. Now I know we can come out here and just grab some up when we need them. We left spending way more then what we planned on, but I will say we would do it again in a heart beat.

I was truly grateful. This took place around lunchtime on April 26th. I look forward to shopping at this store again in the future.

Wow y'all, wow. I…read moreknow tensions are high and we're getting cabin fever, but can we please show some empathy for the people that are out on the front lines? Fred Meyer's employees put themselves at risk of infection every day. They are overworked and understaffed and underpaid. They, along with medical professionals and first responders, are keeping us alive right now. The only difference is that they are paid and respected much less by our society. To clear a few things up: Instacart: is not owned by Fred Meyer. If you have a problem with them, you shouldn't put that on Fred Meyer. Also: Instacart workers are also on the front lines, and need your compassion. It's a GOOD THING: that grocery stores are being strict about returns. THIS DISCOURAGES HOARDING, in addition to being SAFE. In times like this, we should only buy what we NEED. OK, so with that soapbox out of the way: Freddies is doing a great job, all things considered. Social distancing markers are in place on the floors. Employees are constantly sanitizing and/or changing out gloves. Food is getting re-stocked only days after the hoarders take it all. Despite all the added strain, employees remain cheerful and eager to help. Oh, and they are keeping alcohol sales going...essential indeed. Let's be nice, and keep it classy, Anchorage. We'll get through this.

I just re-started my Costco membership recently after staying away from the overwhelming crowds in…read moreboth the Debarr and Dimond locations in Anchorage. I came down here earlier on a whim to pick up some groceries. I'm glad I did. Costco Business Center is located off of N. Muldoon in the former Sam's Club warehouse next to the Glenn Highway and the Elmendorf gate. This location was meant to accommodate local businesses in the area for supplies, but this location is just as good for regular members when going grocery shopping. The big takeaway is the stark contrast of the crowd of shoppers compared to the other locations. The crowds are much lighter and the checkout lines are a lot shorter, yes this is Costco we're talking about. When I hear the name Costco, I usually think of the great deals they have on a wide variety of items, but I also associate chaos and confusion every time I go into one. I can actually navigate the aisles and go around the store at my own pace instead of rushing to pick up what I need and standing in long lines for several minutes when checking out. I found plenty of items on sale and at lower prices compared to the regular grocery stores nearby. The number of items I purchased are too numerous to mention in this review, but a few of them definitely stand out for the price. On this trip, I found a 2.5lb canister of Virginia extra-large Peanuts for only $7.99, a 4-pack of Lysol Antibacterial Wipes for $11.49 (a pack of 2 costs $18.99 at Carrs so this was one of the best deals you can find) a 32 oz. tub of Golden Irish Spreadable Butter imported from Ireland for $11.99, and a box of Burnt Ends Smoked and Seasoned Beef Brisket 1.60lbs. for $23.50 (I was ecstatic to find this as I mentioned in previous reviews that most BBQ places in Anchorage don't have this on the menu). There was only a two-minute wait for checking out at the registers on a Sunday afternoon compared to 10 or 20 minutes at the Debarr location around the same time. The downsides to this location is no Food Court at the front, although I suspect this was meant to keep crowds under control during peak busy times. Smart move, but it's still nice to get a cheap slice of pizza or a hotdog on the way out. There's also no eyeglass store, auto shop, clothing, furniture, electronics, or jewelry at this location, but I'm happy with just a regular grocery run at large quantities and affordable prices. With a slower pace compared to the other stores, it is much easier for employees to stop what they are doing and take the time to help you find an item in the warehouse. Parking has to be the best of the three locations, there was no difficulty finding an available spot not far from the entrance. Despite the omissions of products not found here, I find the simplicity of grocery shopping in a large warehouse with relative ease a nice change of pace.

When I tell you I was in and out in five minutes I mean it. I came in, got what I needed and picked…read moreup what I wanted super fast. There was virtually no line for the checkout which is a huge deal compared to other locations. It's not crowded inside either. There's no samples here, or at least none that I've ever seen but there are super deals on meat and tons of items you can buy in massive quantities. Everyone was nice, I was greeted twice and had a good shopping experience.
