Three Bears is fun. It's a chain up here and it has an adorable logo. I even have an unreasonable Californian fear of bears (I know right? I vacationed in the right spot for that.) and I like that logo. While there could be some improvement in upkeep around the place, it's a decent stop reminiscent of Costco. There's a Three Bears right down the street from the place where I'm staying on my whirlwind AK adventure, and we've stopped a few times for essentials, taco fixins, and of course, to visit the beer cage. Well I suppose it's the liquor cage, more accurately, as it has beer, wine, cider, liquers, and spirits. You have to buy them separate inside here and cannot take them out. Definitely different than back home. We don't have growler bars back home though. That was pretty exciting. If only I had more room in my suitcase! Moreover, there was a huge selection of local beer. There were so many kinds of Alaskan I didn't know what to do with myself. The jalapeño?! We don't have that! There was also a good selection of Midnight Sun beers. I told myself to be good and pick out one to share, so I went with Midnight Sun Monk's Mistress. Turned out to be a delicious dark Belgian that knocked us on our butts pretty fast at 11.5%. Niiiiiiice. I will definitely be visiting that beer cage again before I fly out.

Over priced food most of the time. They do have pretty good priced pizza pockets. Other then that. I say hell no.

I love this store. Costco sized portions without having to pay the stupid membership fee. And great customer service as well.

We have put in multiple prescriptions at the same time, called to check on them and been told they were ready, and then gone back a day or two later and only 1 of 2 or 3 prescriptions have been filled; they are "still working on the rest". The last time it was 2 prescriptions for 2 different ointments, one was ready and the other wasn't and once again we were told they were "working on the rest". These are tubes of ointment in a box that just needs a label printed and slapped on; they aren't formulating or compounding anything. The last straw was a refill my wife called in that couldn't even be located in their system. After calling several times to see what was up she never received the call she was promised to let her know what they had found. We have moved the prescription to Walgreens in Wasilla and are much happier with their service. I will add that in each case where we came to the drive in window and were told there was a problem it was the same young lady with a lousy attitude that turned us away.

Guess what, that's the majority, so when you try to go at those times so does everyone else. If it was possible to give no stars I would. It's definitely not the employees fault but corporate. If their claim to fame is their pharmacy , it's time to start looking into other ventures like assisted death, home owners insurance, or auto body insurance claims that way their customers will always expect to get boned.

We stop by on our way home from the hospital at about 2pm, over 6 hours from when we got the notice that Walgreens received our prescription order just to be told it wouldn't be ready until the NEXT DAY. Had I known the pain that would develop overnight on the first night home with my newborn, I would have immediately requested to have my medication sent somewhere else then. They gave me a limited supply of pain killer which is understandable but the postpartum preeclampsia, the excessive swelling and slow healing made it difficult to even lay down at night, much less lay down and get up every 1-2 hours to feed my baby. So my doctor gave me one more refill. I got a message from Walgreens saying that my insurance put a hold on it. I called to ask what that meant as it had never happened before and they started asking me weird questions about a different customer and not answering my question (HIPAA violation, wow), so I called my insurance and they said it had been approved no hold had been placed. I called Walgreens again and they didn't answer so I decided to call the next morning as I had officially run out and I knew I'd feel it the next day. I called at 10am for them to connect me directly with a pharmacist to explain my prescription was approved the night before but as the pharmacist on site had gone home sick, it got missed so they would be sure it would be filled in the next hour or two, what a relief! After waiting for the property to be plowed before sending my husband out to pick it up 7 hours later and an hour waiting in the drive thru, he was told it wouldn't be ready until they "took inventory" and they were starting that right at that moment. By then I was waking up from a nap with my baby and feeling like my skin was being torn in half. Frustrated, I called the pharmacy to get an estimated time frame and double check because they said it would be ready HOURS ago but while my husband handled it in person for the next hour, I remained on hold for the entirety of that time. The young male with the reddish short hair has ABSURD customer service as he raised his voice to a customer behind my husband and then continually walked away from him, telling my husband that I am a liar because me saying that the pharmacist told me it would be ready by around 11am would be impossible because they wouldn't be able to take inventory at that time for some reason, and then telling the pharmacist that he has a customer that "doesn't understand" in earshot and then referring to my husband. My husband had to explain all he wanted was a time frame and did not come to be disrespected as he is just trying to take care of his wife who just gave birth. They THEN fulfilled my order (sorry to the brand new pharmacist in his second day, seems you rolled into a crap show and I hope you can help make the necessary changes) when the pharmacist made the call. At the time I was FUMING, but now I'm just disappointed that there is a biased and lack of care for our community needing medication and most of these issues could simply be resolved by communication.

I pulled into space number 17 and checked in with the color of my car. My check-in time was 6:23 PM. I waited and waited and waited. A guy came out with groceries and asked me for my pin number from the order and I gave it to him and he said oh I don't have the right order and will be out in a little bit. I waited and waited and waited. The lady next to me got her groceries after pulling in after me and said I may want to call the store number and let them know you've been waiting for over an hour. I did that at least four times and no answer. A guy was delivering groceries to someone else's car and I went over to him and I said it's been well over an hour and I still don't have my groceries and he said he would check into it next and bring them out. I waited another 15 minutes. I put in a call to the one 800 customer service and got a guy on the phone and he asked me all my information and he said he would check me in and I said I already did that at 6:23 PM. And he said he would do it again and by that time the guy finally came out with my groceries and he says well you have everything. I said well I'm not happy with the service and I feel as though I deserve something because my time is just as valuable as everybody else and it was clearly a complete screwup on their end. I said I'm not satisfied with that. He says well that's all he can do and I said it's not acceptable and I expect something and he hung up the phone on me. I went into the grocery store and talked to the manager and of course she wasn't very helpful. She said they had a refrigerator problem and the people had to run back back-and-forth in the store, not my problem. I got some sorry and there was nothing she could do so clearly she didn't care either. I called the one 800 customer service number back again and talk to a gentleman. explained the situation all over again. I said I feel as though my time is valuable and I'm not satisfied with how I was treated by anybody so far so he offered me a $10 coupon. To be honest with you, not looking to get my groceries for free, but certainly my time is worth more than $10 but at least he was decent to talk to and tried his best. It was a miserable order experience and doubt I would ever use it again if that's how they treat a so-called Walmart plus customer for their screw ups

Wow, well...fool me once, shame on you…read more Fool me twice, shame on me. I came here to write about a bad FedEx experience and realized...I have already written that exact same thing...and forgot about it. DO NOT SEND YOUR FEDEX PACKAGES HERE. The packages aren't being scanned when they arrive here, and so they look like they are on a truck for days. They will say "unavailable for pickup"...forever. And they are actually available for pickup. Here's my boring shipping story: Thursday morning at 5am the FedEx tracking said "on vehicle for delivery" and "should arrive before 9am". Then it updated to say, should arrive before end of day Thursday. Then it updated to say, should arrive by end of Friday (today). But, there was no new timestamp since the 5am vehicle scan... Since there was no time stamp on this package since 5am...I guessed that there probably is a scan that happens when the driver transfers the package to a FedEx/Walgreens for customer pickup...and maybe it didn't happen. I went to Walgreens, even though FedEx said "not available for pickup", and told them it was probably there, and the dimensions. They searched for it a little, and then tried to turn me away. I pointed to a box that could be it and was like "what about that?" and they were like "no, those are shipments for Walgreens, like our supplies and stuff" I pressed them further and they checked it, and it was mine. I signed for it on their scanner and a few seconds later got a push notification from FedEx "your item is now available for pickup!" These employees need more training and organization and/or FedEx needs to make sure these get scanned when they hand them over to Walgreens!

I wanted to avoid the crowds at the nearby Carrs across the street or go to the chaotic mess that is the midtown Walmart. This Walgreens location is located on the corner of Northern Lights Blvd. and Minnesota Dr. across from the Aurora Village Carrs and adjacent to Starbucks. One of the busiest intersections during rush hour, I had no desire to go to the supermarket and just wanted to be in a less crowded place. Granted, the supermarkets are cheaper for food items than Walgreens and they have larger selections, but I just wanted to do a quick in and out and not worry about parking. That was a mistake. The evening when I came in, most of the shelves were unbelievably barren or poorly stocked. I was hoping to get a few snack and drink items for the office and not have to spend additional money eating out on lunch break every day. That wasn't the case here. I was looking for 4 or 6 pack bottled water or ice tea to place in a fridge with limited space at work. Unfortunately, the Walgreens around town don't have bottle packs that size or on the times I was there, just 24/28 packs of bottled water. Ice tea bottles would have to be purchased separately. Looking at the shelves more closely, there were many empty areas in one aisle alone. It'd be a stretch to think that this store could sell out items consistently if Carrs across the way has a wider variety and discounts every single day. There are items that are better deals when they are on sale, but unavailability is a major issue. This was not a one-time thing. I have noticed that in the past several weeks every time I came in to get something. Another major problem here is their pharmacy. It was temporarily closed due to staffing and people who have prescriptions here would have to notify their doctor's office to arrange a pick up at a different location. I'm sure a lot of customers were not happy about that. The employees are friendly and helpful but their hands are tied as to the problems this store is having. This would have been a convenient spot to avoid Carrs if low inventory and being short-handed weren't a common occurrence here.
