What a complete 180 from the Shell that used to be in this space!…read more Shell has some of the highest and most exploitative gas pricing in Alaska. They love quoting cash-only prices and not telling you. They also all seem to have run-down interiors. This place has the cheapest* gas in town, is sparkling clean, and has friendly employees! My only complaint is no air station to fill your tires...this is kind of a way of life in Alaska with massive changes in temperature and road conditions. ATM fee is $3.00. Not horrid, but also not great. Drink selection is average. Food selection is slightly above average for a space so tiny. *I'm skeptical the prices will stay good, this might be a "teaser rate" to get you to stop by. I will stop back in a few months and adjust the review accordingly, if they "pull a Shell".

She tells me she won't serve me??? Are you kidding??? I have always heard bad things about this establishment but today was the first time I have been and didn't take long to realize what everyone was talking about. Do yourself a favor, there is a gas station a half mile on either side, drive to them and save yourself a major headache. I posted of picture of the sign as well.

My experience though was it had a lot of pie apple but it also had the perfect amount of other toppings, the sauce was yummy and a good amount of cheese was present. For sure a nice old school spot to support.

Five stars solely based on the experience I had with their air machine…read more This place has it figured out. They require you to give them your license before you get the hose. This meant it was a nice, non-weather beaten hose. The machine costs 25 cents for three minutes. There is no pressure gauge on the hose but you can buy one inside for 2.99 (no tax!). The convenience store is well stocked and the prices seem fair. Friendly staff too.

Review of New Sagaya City Market - Anchorage, Alaska…read more Five weeks ago, I moved from San Francisco to Anchorage, settling near the downtown area. One of my first missions was to find a coffee spot that felt like home--a place with not just great coffee, but genuine people behind the counter. After trying a handful of cafes, a neighbor suggested New Sagaya City Market, just two blocks from my house. What a win. The market itself offers high-end, quality products. Yes, prices are a bit higher than what you'd find at Walmart or Target, but coming from San Francisco, I was prepared for that. What truly sets this place apart, though, isn't just the products--it's the people. From the very beginning, the baristas here have shown me the most consistent and heartfelt customer service I've experienced since moving to Anchorage. They don't just serve coffee; they connect with you, listen to your stories, and make you feel like part of the community. Today was a perfect example. I slipped in the parking lot (rookie mistake--no spikes on my shoes for the icy ground). After two kind gentlemen helped me up, I walked inside with my spilled coffee. Annie, a new barista I hadn't met before, immediately offered me a fresh cup with such kindness and care. That small gesture meant so much--it wasn't just about the coffee, it was about feeling seen and supported. I also want to shout out Monica and Shea, who I met when I first arrived five weeks ago. They've been consistently amazing--funny, charming, and genuinely interested in conversations about life, community, and even my adventures back in San Francisco. Every time I come in, I leave feeling lighter, happier, and more connected. Thank you, Annie, Monica, and Shea, for making New Sagaya City Market my go-to coffee spot. You've given me more than great coffee--you've given me a sense of belonging in a new city. --- Would you like me to make this version short and punchy for Google/Yelp reviews, or keep it longer and more storytelling-focused for something like a blog or social post?

The guy asked what side I'd like and said they had good soup. I wrongfully assumed that was an included option. Nope. Noticed after that it was a $2 charge. That would've been nice to know. I would've skipped it. I should've gotten it toasted too. I do wish the bacon were crispy and warm. It was soggy and cold. See photo. Overall pretty good. I'll come back and try a potato or a wrap.
