Frederick Window Tinting business is professional, personable, pleasant and the delivery of their product is perfect. I made an appointment for my window tint and they provided me with an estimate of the time it would take for completion and it was exactly that. I stuck around for a little while because of the conversations I was sharing with the owners and two friends of the business that stopped in to say hello. I really liked their facility. It's very clean the garage/work shop floors were tiled, the lights were super bright (LED), even though it was 100F outside, garage shop was very cool. They even had coffee bar, cold filtered water, variety of free snacks available. Another big thing...Restroom is CLEAN!!! Alot of shops dealing with cars, do not keep their restrooms clean (I have a thing about dirty restrooms). One would easily see and sense the owners take pride of every aspect of running their business. I very much appreciated that. My huge huge Nissan NV passenger van gets very hot because there are only two front windows that roll down and that means much more volume of space for the van A/C to cool down the entire cabin, limiting the effectiveness of the A/C. Solution was to make sure to shade the van as much as possible with tinting. I selected the ceramic tint and I can say the difference of the amount of heat coming through the windows were reduced significantly! It's 98-100 out: Not only is my A/C keeping the van cooler on a lower setting, my arms and body that the sun previously beat up are now protected AND the van looks really good too. I will definitely be able to take on the sun and heat for our trip to the beach this summer as well as tackle the Florida heat later this year for our trip to disney. Wrote this on the old Germantown location Yelp, and I'm posting this here since this is their current location... I normally don't write reviews as I am not easily amazed from above average customer service. In this economy, if you don't provide that at a minimum, you're not going to make it because I'll just go to the establishment down the street that provides the same service. This is why sites like Yelp are so helpful in finding a great service provider. With that said, I contacted Joe because he was referred to me by a colleague and I felt the need to express my gratitude by writing a review for him. From the first time I texted him, it was great. Granted Joe's wife was replying to my texts while Joe was tinting, she was prompt, accurate, and cordial...it was a great system. I made my appointment to have my wife's X5 tinted, went to my appointment, both Joe and his wife were very professional yet accommodating. Where they went above and beyond was the checking and rechecking and ensuring my level of satisfaction before departing with the comfort of contacting them if anything were to go wrong (which I didn't expect) with the tint. I was in and out of there in no time, Joe was not walking around distracted, I got there he went to work, and I was on my way home. After emailing, calling and visiting several tint shops in the Frederick, MD area and as far east as Columbia, MD I decided to go with Frederick Window Tinting. There were several reasons for the decision. Not the least of which was Joe and Sharyn. They seem to be a fantastic team that really takes care of their customers -- going above and beyond as necessary. Check out his story on their webpage. I also decided that I wanted to keep my $$ in Frederick as this is where I also call home. While FWT may not be the cheapest out there, you need to remember the sometimes you get what you pay for! Joe is a true professional and really focuses on the task at hand. While I waited for the tinting, I periodically would take a look at the progress and watch him work. It is nice to watch someone who knows what they are doing! The entire process took just less than 2 hours -- the panorama roof was a bit tough. I followed the instructions and a week later the windows look great -- clear and zero bubbles or imperfections. The tape on the window buttons was a great touch. Several times I reached to put the windows down. I am confident that if I have any issues, Sharyn and Joe will address them. I would highly recommend that you visit the shop and talk with Sharyn. Shop around as a good consumer should. But, I am confident you will end up back at Frederick Window Tinting. For information purposes I went with the Rayno S9 30% on the windows and 50% on the sunroof. The next time I need any tinting or related services, I will go to FWT. 08/30/2021 update Since my last review I've since taken two more vehicles (so a total of four) to FWT so I think that speaks for itself. Joe and Sharyn's work is second to none. They stand behind what they do with a lifetime warranty (not that I've ever needed it), their customer service continues to remain phenomenal and even more importantly personal, and the quality of work remains top notch. It's a pleasure supporting this awesome small business. Additionally, Joe and Sharyn are very active in supporting the local community and are quick to give back in times of need. This level of craftsmanship, customer service, and personal attention are what more businesses need to strive to emulate. 11/30/16 update Came back with a second car the work is just hat good. Nothing about my original review has changed! Top notch service and amazing work. My neighbor also had his car tinted here on my recommendation and he absolutely loves it as well. Original Review Can't speak highly enough about FWT. I emailed them at noon on Monday and by the end of the day had a reply. Less then 48 hours the job was done. The car looks amazing and the wait time was under an hour. The small waiting area was clean and comfortable, had free wifi, coffee, and snacks. This place was recommended to me by a friend of mine. I just purchased a 2018 Dodge Charger RT 392 Scat Pack. I know its just a Dodge to some but to me, this was my baby. I was nervous bringing my vehicle based on one recommendation and barely any research but I made a decision and I am glad I did. Before my appointment, I spoke with Sharyn online and she explained the different packages they offered and the prices. I decided on what I wanted based on my budget and made the appointment. When I arrived I was greated by Sharyn and her two children. Soon after I met her husband Joe, who actually did the tint job. It was definitely not what I expected. I was picturing a front desk secretary and a bunch of window tint techs tinting away, vehicle after vehicle. Bringing my vehicle here, I was treated like a close friend of the family. I researched several places in the area, and because of their good reviews I contacted Frederick Window Tinting by text. I got an immediate response by Sharyn who handles all of the scheduling and customer service. She sent me complete details on all of the tinting options and pricing, & I was able to schedule my vehicle within a few days. When I visited the shop I saw first hand what a dedicated family business this is. They obviously care about making the customer happy. Sharyn is friendly and knowledgeable about window tinting and made excellent suggestions for my vehicle. The reception area is small but accommodating, and is set up for the customer's comfort with a TV, Keurig, and snacks available for those who are waiting. After the tinting was complete, I noticed a few tiny bubbles on the back windshield, and Sharyn followed up with me several times to check to see how the tint was curing. I returned a week later to have them pushed out, however they did everything to make it convenient for me. I also saw them go out of their way to accommodate other customers. I bought a tint that has a lifetime warranty, and I feel comfortable that if there's a problem down the road, they will fix it. Overall I am very happy with the results! Owners have outdone themselves with this. I am a person who looks highly to customer service and quality of said services having worked in these backgrounds my entire life just about and I could not be happier with the tinting they applied to my Honda (which by the way surprised me with how incredible it would go on to look for being a pretty basic, standard vehicle) while being very punctual, professional, and outstanding individuals that made me feel at ease. They seem to have a very loyal clientele following that is only growing - I foresee them expanding as a result of their hard work. I enjoyed being in an atmosphere of this business-background that demonstrated a family-friendly vibe when I walked in. That is something you don't get to see very often in a business like this these days. With that in mind and seeing a history of their work and how satisfied each customer has been, I wouldn't take my car anywhere else to have this kind of work done after experiencing this. One week after we got our Beetle windows tinted, I am still so thoroughly pleased with the job that Joe and Sharyn did. They are super professional-- Sharyn explained the differences between the S5, S7, and S9. Joe was super skillful and you could tell he wouldn't do anything less than a perfect job for our car. I'm leaving this review because we are tremendously pleased with the S7 and could feel an immediate difference once we got inside the car this morning after going grocery shopping during the "extreme heat wave." This is a family-owned business that I'll certainly recommend to my friends/family moving forward. Both Sharyn and Joe exude warmth, kindness, and most of all they didn't treat me like an idiot because despite owning one, I really don't know much about cars. :) Know before you go: 1) I connected with Sharyn via text message to set up the appointment. She'll also text you again to confirm the date/time as you get closer to your appointment date. It was a super easy process. 2) the waiting room is air conditioned but has three (maybe four?) chairs so bring a book and/or they have Netflix you can enjoy too. 3) the place is located along the second row of an industrial park. First of I would like to start by saying, Joe the owner has been working on my cars as long as I have owned any vehicle and from the first time years ago until the last time sadly today, he has been nothing short of phenomenal. If you really care about getting your job done right and getting the job you paid for, then you have to visit Frederick Window Tinting. I personally don't like going to a shop that "also does tinting" like a sound shop that also does tinting. I would rather go to a shop that specializes in window tinting. At Frederick Window Tinting, Joe and Sharyn know their business and genuinely care about the customer and their satisfaction with a job well done. They know their reputation is everything and will not do a job that they can not 100% stand behind. Both Joe and Sharyn worked with me on a difficult Audi A5 knowing that the electronics had to be protected. They explained to me all of the issues and took the time to address each and every detail of the job. There was even some residue on the windows from a previous detailer that made the installation just a bit more of a challenge. But Joe was able to successfully complete the job and it looks fantastic. So, if you want the job done right, these are the only people to take your vehicle to. First let me start off by saying if I could give more stars I would! Joe and Sharyn are absolutely amazing! I went in and talked to Joe not knowing anything about tinting and he took the time to explain the various different kinds and percentages. He then turned me over to his wife Sharyn who is incredible! She took the time to re-explain everything that Joe had explained to me to make sure I was 100% sure. She was extremely nice and professional. I can't say enough about this company. They will ensure that your tinting is beyond exceptional and exactly what you want! The reason I say this is because I know for a fact. They did an amazing tint job - just what I wanted. After a few days I noticed that the tint I chose was too dark - at night I can't see out of my back windows. So I called Sharyn and she said to bring it in and we came up with a plan to do a lighter tint. Updating to post some final comments regarding my visit. #1. I received feedback and clarification regarding the service time. While it did start late that was due to a previous customer that had to do some extended work. Due to some special circumstances I understand the situation. #2. Tint is really good. While there was some bubbling in the first couple days, over the past couple weeks most of it has gone away. A few bubbles remain but they aren't huge so its fine. In conclusion, I would recommend this place. I like the tinting product that is available. Solar Gard seems to be pretty good. The price is reasonable and the service is pretty quick. There is no pressure regarding what product/service to get. Sharyn was super nice and courteous. She explained very well the differences between the different products. I drove about 45min from my place to get it done and think it was worth the time. I will definitely consider coming back to this place for my other cars. read more

When trying to locate a window tinting business I wanted to support a family run local business. There are many in Frederick! I decided to go with Frederick Window Tinting because of the honest "About" section of their website. I also did my research on the products that are out there and I really loved the technology of the Rayno Phantom tint. Communication with FWT was great from my first phone call. I was able to communicate via text and email, which was important due to the Covid-19 restrictions still in place. I was assured that all safety and health measures would be taken during my appointment. When I scheduled a appointment, Sharyn worked really well with my schedule so I can get to class on time. It was a VERY RAPID response and told me everything I needed to know about their shop. She accommodated for my time and got there at 8am and left at 9am. The process took about an hour and came out great on my 2001 Black Golf 2dr Hatchback. The little cozy shop has treats for you while you wait and a Apple TV to watch some Youtube car videos. You can see the whole process yourself as well! Prices are by far the best i've seen. When comparing to other tint shops in the area it was the cheapest. The couple is friendly and their kid is a bundle of joy when he suggests what tint you should get (I got the galaxie 30% tint). These guys are pros; the Chick-Fil-A of window tinting. Family atmosphere and professional too? Win-Win. The customer service in helping me to decide what windows to tint and how dark to go was amazing. Ended up going ~20% for all the windows. The process to schedule and have the car in the shop was also quick, friendly and communicative. Ended up doing all the windows except the windshield, including the Pano-Sunroof. Was concerned because of all the electronics and the potential for overspray during application, but everything was flawless. Lastly, I went with the S9's heat rejection film which is the best heat dispersion available and it made a huge difference. You need to believe all of the 5 star reviews for FWT. I texted on Tuesday, got an appointment for Friday of the same week. Sharyn was unbelievably friendly and I was in and out of the shop in an hour. They have a small lounge with snacks and coffee while I waited but drop off is available. I watched Netflix and it was just a cozy and short wait. The whole process was quick and very painless. I learned later that I got a free film upgrade from S5 to S7, which I believe rejects more heat. You really can't ask for better service. My first ever window tint job came out AMAZING!! Sharyn and Joe were true professionals. They took the time to sit down and listen to my goals of the job (yes, a bit silly but I was pretty specific on what I wanted) and make recommendations based on my needs. They were super efficient and knowledgable--you could tell they have been doing this for awhile. I noticed an instant difference from the tint. Later in the day I had my car parked in the heat for awhile, and it was significantly cooler than on a normal day. It also seemed to cool off with the AC about 10x faster.
