Bacon burger

Here's the deal: I'm optimistic! IYKYK.. this location has been a turnstile of establishments for various reasons. Very excited for Freddy's to start a long term, and well needed restaurant in the area. This has a Greek restaurant menu(which looked good at other tables) but also has very good American pub food! The fresh hummus & chips was delicious (would prefer fresh cut pita chips vs fried chips but...) Also the burger and cheesesteak were really good options! Our server was so nice and helpful! Great outdoor seating on the lake and a bar area with plenty of TV's to sit and catch a game as well I'll be back!!

Freddys combo

The service and atmosphere were terrific. They had a one man band that was good and not too loud. This is the second time I have had the Freddy's combo and it does not disappoint. The chicken skewers were def very fresh chicken and were cooked nicely but a bit plain for my liking. Almost tastes too healthy. Lol. The veg combo dinner my wife had and it was good. (Any just veg platter for dinner is boring to me but she liked it) The Alfredo Cajun I thought was great. The sauce specifically nailed it. My son ordered this but I was dipping my chicken skewers in the sauce every chance I got. It was a pleasant surprise since there are only 2 pasta dishes I didn't expect much. Loved it. They continue to adjust as they settle in which is great to see. The ownership seems committed to making this a great place. All in we are still rooting strong for this place to make it long term so keep up the good work.

Grilled Shrimp Entree

My friends & I enjoyed dinner on the deck during a lovely evening. This place is on a small lake with great views w/plenty of parking. Our service was fantastic from start to finish. The menu is geared towards Mediterranean / American food with reasonable prices. We enjoyed the complimentary pickles & olives & then ordered a bunch of food to graze: Hummus (outrageous), Calamari (very tender but we weren't a fan of all the peppers in it nor the marinara), Falafel (great texture), Taboule (great serving & delish), Kibbeh (it was OK, we didn't care for it as much as we expected), grilled shrimp entree (loved the rice, shrimp were overcooked), Cheesecake (yum) & Baklava (pretty good) along with several cocktails. We wished they had Baileys but perhaps they will get it after their soft opening is over. The outdoor chairs are very hard & uncomfortable ; they need cushions. We met the owners & they were so nice. Freddy cooks & his wife is the hostess. They made us feel very welcome & we will certainly be back!!

Cajun chicken Alfredo
Dylan V.

The staff is very kind and welcoming when you walk in and there are a lot of places you are able to sit, including outdoor, lakeside seating. Our food was made in a very timely manner. The salmon was good but the Cajun chicken Alfredo was fantastic. Definitely a friendly environment and they have live music pretty frequently which makes sense because they are a new place. Pricing was also very good with both dishes being a combined 50 dollars. I would definetly come back and give this place a try if you haven't yet.

You have to give credit to a place with a gluten-free menu, and to have great food too is perfect!

Windy Haven Farm - Beautiful (despite me dinging the frosting,) and delicious cake! Vegan and gluten-free but doesn't taste like either.

Windy Haven Farm

The task: trying to find a local bakery to make a cake for my father's big birthday…read more The major hurdles: husband and I are vegan, sister is mostly gluten-free. And, my parents live just far enough away from major urban areas that finding options that cater to these dietary needs is near impossible. The solution: Windy Haven Farm to the rescue! I spent hours trying to find a place to accommodate all our needs while still not irritating the birthday boy who has pretty strong (i.e., negative) opinions about vegan and gluten-free versions of food. To be fair, I also am a little skeptical about gluten-free baked goods, having had some that have had odd textures, flavors, etc. With all these concerns, I decided to text the number and requested a call back. The incredibly sweet, patient, and knowledgeable owner Kim called me right back. I asked her my questions, and Kim told me her cakes are not too sweet and have a texture that is similar to "regular" cakes. She also told me about the ingredients she uses. Based on what my dad likes, I asked Kim for suggestions and ended up choosing a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and fresh organic fruit compote. Kim told me that due to the season (it was early spring), good fresh, local, and organic fruit wasn't readily available and that she could use a good quality frozen organic fruit to make the compote. I chose a cherry compote since I knew my dad would enjoy it. The price of the cake was a serious bargain for what we ended up getting. Kim told me I could order online and request a pick-up on Monday from her house without any additional charge. Due to weather issues, we ended up meeting at the local police station where I was given a gorgeous cake along with a pretty, gold colored "Happy Birthday" sign to insert into the cake before serving. Well, everyone LOVED the cake, and there wasn't a peep about it being gluten-free or vegan. Honestly, it just tasted just like a "regular" delicious cake one could find at a high end conventional bakery -- maybe even better! The texture and flavor of the chocolate cake was delightful, the buttercream was flavorful and not overly sugary, and the cherry compote complemented it all nicely. My father was very happy, and it made his birthday all that more special. Many thanks to Windy Haven Farm! You've now got a long term customer from me and my whole family.

Titi’s - Chicken & cheese empanada

This was the best, unplanned, no guilt meal I've had in too long!…read more Let's back up that somewhat hyperbolic seeming statement with some facts, shall we? Availability and inclusion: I'm vegetarian and gluten free. There's several varieties of corn empanada, labeled GF. Several of those were vegetarian. Price: the ones I had were under $5 each. While empanada are small, you get to sample a lunch worthy amount for $10. Quality: I liked them so much, I went for seconds on the papa con queso! The sauces were all really enjoyable and matched the different empanadas well. The oat latte was good, and hot! Service: What a charming lady, Vee, talked about the business a little, some chitchat and was incredibly warm. A heartbreaker, if that's ok to say in a review (well it is now)

((4.5 stars)) Titi's…read moreis empanada joint on East 7th Street, near Tompkins Square Park. serving variety of blended Venezuelan and NYC flavors in puff pastry shells, white & yellow corn pockets, OR sweet plantain vessel as well as some sandwich, dessert empanadas, and other options. the puff pastry empanadas are mostly baked while the corn ones are fried to crispy goodness. Titi's interior is colorful and eclectic like your crazy aunt's living room...it is homey, with a few booth seating options and a standing table. the space gives off a very casual fun vibe that isn't messy but also isn't overly neat...very chill...when you need to pause the craziness of NYC and eat some comforting calories. been here a few times, i can say this is a great addition to the neighborhood's food options. many of the empanada options are served in a baked puff pastry wrapping--like the chopped cheese empanada filled with seasoned ground beef and cooper's sharp American. ordered one of these because who doesn't like a good bodega-made chopped cheese? the empanada is filled to the brim with savory beef and melt cheese in a buttery flaky shell. it comes together nicely as meaty eat and evokes the classic bodega sandwich (Titi's also serves a traditional chopped cheese sandwich on a long roll hot off the grill if you want a much heftier serving of calories. my favorite empanada was the "papa con queso" corn empanada (one of the vegetarian options)--a soft potato and melted cheese filling enclosed in a golden brown corn empanada. the potato + cheese is such a great comfort food and very satisfying...the empanada is crispy on the outside and makes for a great combo with the potato cheesiness. the "Domino" corn empanada is another good vegetarian empanada--savory black beans (not mushy) in melted cheese in a crispy corn empanada...a satisfying bite that isn't superheavy. tried a "Pollo" corn empanada is seasoned moist chicken in a crispy soft shell. also had a drip coffee here--it was okay to good, but the focus is the food. the empanadas take about 6-10 minutes to heat up or fry...which i appreciate as the food comes hot outta the fryer or oven. don't sleep on the sauces: the green sauce was my favorite as it is a cilantro-based (plus other herbs) mayo dipping sauce. the service is very friendly even when they are busy. the staff is helpful and can make suggestions if you're unsure on what to get. definitely worth a stop for a snack or meal: 1-2 empanadas is a good snack option, while 3-4 makes for an enjoyable meal that allows for ordering a variety of flavors. oh, and there are a couple of vegan options for the non-carnivores.

We visit Jim Thorpe annually and were excited to try this place given its vegan options. When we entered the restaurant, the set-up was a little confusing. They did seat us pretty quickly though, and the service was probably the only positive to this experience. My husband and I both ordered cocktails; he had the Manhattan while I had a special vodka drink they were offering that day. Our drinks were overall fine but not anything special. My husband's Manhattan was very basic tasting. The menu and the food were the worst parts. The menu is unnecessarily long and phony sounding, like they are trying to be quirky but just come across as fake and condescending. There's extra, unnecessary description of the food that makes the menu difficult and frankly annoying to review. We ordered the bread teaser as well as the hummus. The pesto and the hummus were basic store level quality. The bread was definitely undercooked. For our entrees, we ordered the Cleopatra salad and a pasta dish. The salad tasted fine enough but it was basically just romaine lettuce with a very light dusting of nutritional yeast, vegan cheese, and a very low amount of chickpeas/protein. The pasta was an absolute travesty. It was extremely oily, flavorless, and bland. To top it all off, the food is extremely expensive! They have absolutely no business charging that much. The interior of the place is also a waste of space. It doesn't make any sense that it calls itself a pub. There's also stupid decor everywhere, including a sign that says "no" leading out to an employee-only location. I guess that's supposed to be funny but just comes across as condescending. It's a shame that this place has such a good location with Jim Thorpe and apparently can make a pretty penny serving subpar food and weird vibes. Don't waste your money.

Service: Our waitress, Casey, was excellent. Always checking in and very polite throughout the meal. She made the whole dining experience feel welcoming and attentive without being overbearing. Aesthetic: The restaurant has a warm, inviting look with stonework accents along the walls and an open barn-style concept. The restaurant itself has a bright, open feel and would make a great spot for a private event.
