I chose the chicken francese (a bit plain, had to ask for gravy, which was good); served with mashed potatoes (fairly good) and steamed vegetables (little taste left). Service was good. Came here in a weeknight. Spacious dining room albeit a bit too bright. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was very good. I had the fillet and it was perfectly cooked. Better than what I had at a fancy steakhouse chain in Summit and Morristown. Bread seemed homemade. Lasagna special was excellent. Very good espresso and brownie with ice cream. We went to the Corner Bistro with friends last night. We hadn't been there I quite a while and were in for a pleasant surprise. The food was excellent. Two of us had the sole almond one which was perfectly prepares with a delicious nut crust and a Dijon sauce. It was served with scalloped potatoes and veggies. My husband had the pork chop which was also excellent. He said it was tender, moist and delicious. My friend had the zuppe de pesce. Her portion like all of ours was large and very good. It had been about 4 years since I'd been at The Corner Bistro, and then it was just for lunch. My wife recently went there for dinner with friends and said it was very good. Last night, we met another couple and had an excellent dinner here. The restaurant was very busy on a Saturday night, but we were able to get a late reservation. The restaurant is very nice inside and we had a comfortable booth. Our food was delicious! My wife and I split the arugula salad and eggplant appetizer. For entrees, we both ordered the Stuffed Shrimp. The shrimp was so good, served alongside mashed potatoes and spinach. Everyone enjoyed their meals! This is a BYOB, so don't forget your wine. Came here for mother's Day, which was $50/pp. The food was buffet style: veggies, pasta, pulled pork and carving ham/beef. Given the buffet style, you'd think that service staff would provide a lot of attention. Let me start with the good news. We found the staff attentive, gracious, capable, and pleasant. The atmosphere was holiday festive with out being intrusive. I ordered the Pink Vodka Rigatoni and was impressed with the six good-sized shrimp that came with the dish. And now the bad news. Despite a "warning" from a review I read we ordered the wedge salad and it was blah. It had minimal amounts of crumbled bleu cheese, bacon, and dressing. My wife was hoping for New England Clam chowder, but they offer the Manhattan variety. She opted instead for the crab cake and it was all filler, with very little crab. Warning deceptive credit card practices in full effect here with their portable point of service device. Our server Reynaldo double dipped as he added a $30 dollar tip on my Pop's credit card after I already paid him his $40 tip in cash and made a notation on the receipt [see picture]. My wife n I have been going here since they opened. It food quality still isn't what it was years ago and the prices have gone up a lot. I get it prices have gone up on everything everywhere but the service has gotten so bad. Tonight we went for Mother's Day dinner. We had a 5:30 reservation for 7 adults 1 child. We talked to three different people when we got there and three different people had no clue where to seat us. Then it took forever for a waitress to find our table. After taking our order she disappeared NEVER to be seen or heard from again. Normally I drink a lot of water but I was only able to find someone one time to refill my glass. After he filled it n handed it back to me I noticed something floating in the glass. I looked like paper. He filled my daughters glass n there was something in her glass also. My grandsons napkin was really dirt I asked for a new one and I was told they ran or of napkins but she could bring us paper ones. She never can back with the clean napkins. We had to ask the bus boy to bring us water , wine glasses, and bread. The hostess came over at the end of dinner to clear the table n asked if we wanted coffee. We said yes but she left n we had to stop someone else to take the desert order. Sadly my wife insisted on leaving 20%. It's my opinion that a 20% tip is for good service and needs to be earned. My manager and I decided to get take out from this restaurant. When we arrived we parked in the plaza parking lot. I walked in and ordered from a nice guy. I told him I wanted something vegan and he said he could make a pasta with vegetables and marinara. He let us sit outside while the food was being made. It came out in about 20 minutes. When I got home I opened the dish and it had cheese on top and throughout. I had to do my best to get the cheese out ‍. The flavor was pretty good from what I did eat. We had a surprise birthday celebration for my sister Margot Urban here. She was beyond happy and The Corner Bistro did not disappoint! There were 14 ladies and then some family joined afterward for cake and coffee. Our waitress Isabelle was phenomenal getting us all a delicious lunch served with smiles and very efficiently! When ordering we told them that we wanted to take our time & it wasn't like there were people waiting for our table. As soon as 1 course was done, the next was immediately put on the table. Also, 2 of the dishes had lukewarm sides - not good. My friend sent hers back to get warmed up. Do they not have heat lamps to keep food warm? The stuffed shrimp dish is totally different than in the past - served with a cream sauce that was not needed. Had dinner with a group of 12 last night for a birthday and everything was wonderful! The service especially Zelda was impeccable and the food was so delicious. Appetizers included: calamari, coconut shrimp, sushi pizza, goat cheese tarts and some salads. The coconut shrimp was the best I ever tasted. The calamari was fresh and crisp. Appetizers were so good! Dinners ranged from crab cake special, fillet mignon, chicken florentine and a fish special. All main entrees were excellent. There are not a lot of great restaurant options in Randolph, but this is a definite hidden gem where you can enjoy fantastic service (thank you Zelda), great atmosphere and a fantastic meal! From the outside, this place doesn't say much. They should definitely do something to spruce things up. Now once you enter the restaurant, things change. Charming decor, beautiful indoor water feature and nice dining layout. They also have a lovely outdoor space unfortunately we could not be seated there as we were told they hadn't cleaned yet. The food and presentation was good. We ordered the surf and turf and the filet mignon. I took one star off because we ordered our meat medium rare and our meat was cooked rare borderline raw. We did not send it back because the wait staff kind of disappeared in the back and we were on a schedule and crunched for time. Very nice cozy restaurant; nice outdoor seating area. I'm not a big fan of artichoke but the appetizer we had was very good. Chunks of artichoke were breaded & fried and served with a honey mustard sauce. Crunchy and perfectly done. The short rib special was delicious and different (served over pasta with a rich tomato sauce). Stuffed pork tenderloin was also excellent. I must say, that for the 2nd time in recent months, while there were ample wait staff available, the service was not great especially toward the meals end. We were offered dessert menus but no one came back to see if we ACTUALLY wanted dessert. I had to get up to ask someone to take the check and when we left, we barely got a thank you. I need to say something in a review because, since COVID, people expect a 20% tip. If we continue to tip on less than quality service, how will the staff know they need to improve. I ordered their blackened chicken sandwich and the chicken was delicious! It was not overcooked, nor was it dry. It came with a sade of fries and Cole slaw for about $10. Visited for a quiet Sunday dinner. Upon arrival, there was only one party already seated. Our server sat us and gave us water and warm bread. I ordered the carbonara with grilled chicken. We didn't order any appetizers or salads yet the food still took close to 45 minutes for it to come out of the kitchen. The food wan't bad but it wasn't worth the price being charged. Our server was ok; she wasn't mean but she wasn't really friendly or welcoming either. Kind of just there. The owner (I'm assuming that was him) came in to pick up dinner for him and his family but decided to help out for a bit. He filled up some empty water glasses and brought out one plate of food. (Not ours lol) and then he left. The decor is very nice. The music is good but a little too low because we could hear all of our neighbors conversation the whole time.
