We were lured in by so many positive reviews,location and prices,yet the service was very slow (it took 20min before we got our food,while the drinks were only brought after,once we reminded we're still waiting for them),the food was very so-so (my Frutta di Mare was not cooked enough,and the mussels were the worst I ever had..!) and it was super dark inside! It's as if they keep the lights dimmed so you don't see what you're eating exactly. My husband ordered lamb chops,and one of them was cooked while the second was completely raw. A friend and I were looking for some place else and came upon this restaurant and it was excellent. Service and food: 10/10. We both ordered from the seafood portion of the menu and the food was in front of us before we knew it. And not only was it rich in taste but the display was beautiful. Our waitress was also extremely helpful when it came to deciding what we'd like to eat and so kind. We left not feeling too full or tired and it was a great experience all around. I recommend this place for special occasions , birthdays , business meetings, etc. It's worth every penny. Don't judge it by the outside, this place won't disappoint. read more

Way over priced for what you get. I ordered the French Onion soup - it was a weird tomato based broth... onion soup? Yes. French? No way. It was good but at $9 it was a rip off. I had a burger that was good, but again at $14 over priced. My lunch partner had some dish with crab cakes. Basically a salt puck that was almost inedible. Forget the price but it was crazy expensive. We told our server, who was very nice. Rayher thN take the price of the crab cakes off our bill, he 'presented us with a slice of lemoncello cake to eat with TV at home. Ovet all - Service was good Food was so so except for the crab cakes Price - put it this way, we won't be back. I could get the same meal for 1/2 the price at a local grill, probably better food too. The food here is excellent but there were a few hiccups in our order. We ordered two wedge salads to share and the waiter was kind enough to give us separate plates. However, the dressing was rather scarce. Three of the four diners ordered the crab cakes which were large, well prepared. Excellent. However, two people asked to substitute scalloped potatoes for mashed potatoes. Although we were told this was no problem, only one dinner came with scalloped potatoes. The dinner with the incorrect potato was sent back to the kitchen and arrived at the table again with mashed potatoes. Nothing changed. Our friend just accepted her dinner as she did not want to hold up the rest of us. The frutti di mare was excellent and had a beatiful sauce. Just a hint of spiciness. Rich in delicious seafood. THE PROBLEM? There was live music which made conversing absolutely impossible. Although the young man started with not too much volume, he raised the volume to the point where it was impossible to speak to the person across the table. We skipped dessert because, quite frankly, we just wanted to get OUT OF THERE! The room is too small with hard surfaces to have someone with a guitar and amplifiers. We will not be back unless we first check that there will be no music. Too bad. We really like this place but this was not a good experience. read more

Wow! What happened to this place!? It was a Friday night, just two other tables in there other than our party of 6. 3 of us ordered the pasta special, all 3 came out WITHOUT the pasta! Just the meet and tomato's, no pasta!? Then after we all FINALLY get our food, not once did any of the wait staff come check on us, until desert. We have probably eaten at The Corner Bistro at least 10 times. It is one of those places in a small strip mall that you stop in for some other reason or drive by often and never plan to eat at. But you should, everything we have ever had there is very good. In the warmer months they have a nice outdoor eating area that you can relax in. On this occasion we had a small family gathering for a birthday celebration. We had an early reservation to avoid the crowd that often arrives later. Two of us had the pork chop giambotta with vegetables in madeira sauce from the regular menu which was great. Two others had the tuna steak with sesame seeds and dipping sauces that was outstanding. The grilled salmon from the regular menu was also very good. The only small disappointment was the vegetable medley with shrimp over risotto special that was mostly risotto. One of the best parts about The Corner Bistro is that the prices for everything are very reasonable, and it is BYOB, so even with a group the total bill will not be overwhelming. Great service, lousy management. We knew we were going here for dinner, and found a coupon in The Clipper which gave a link to localflavor.com. I PURCHASED a $30 gc for $15, and had the option of print or electronic delivery, which I took electronic. Went for dinner - the food was excellent, service was great (except the server never brought the tea I ordered). Accordian player was an excellent touch and added nice background music. Then we went to pay - and they refused the electronic gc. If you aren't going to go with the terms of the website - don't go on it!! Luckily localflavor.com did refund the money I paid for the gc because the promotional amount of $30 was only for that day - then it went down to face value of $15. So - all in all - great place - but don't count on the coupons the management puts out. read more

Amazing find! Found this restaurant online and decided to give it s try. The seafood pasta was out of the world. Osso bucco was mouth watering. They definitely did not use the dry stuff. Dessert selection was large. Server brought all of them over and the decision was hard. Finally picked the special ice cream concoction they made. Did not disappoint, finished every drop... My boyfriend and I haven't been back to The Corner Bistro since 2017, and today we were in the area and decided to come for lunch. They have a really nice lunch menu, everything from soup, sandwiches, burgers, veggie wraps and chicken and fish entrees. It still remains a BYOB, and we ended up bringing our own bottle of sangria. For our lunch, we decided on the chicken parmigiana and the roasted Nantucket cod. Both of us were extremely happy with our selections. The chicken parmigiana is my boyfriend's favorite dish and he thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the seasoning on my cod, and the vegetable medley and scalloped potatoes that the dish came with. We were too full for dessert, sadly. The only recommendation that I would have for the chef is for him to bring back the complimentary bruschetta that they had when they first opened. When we made our reservation for Corner Bistro, we requested and verified a specific table that we knew was well separated from others. When we got there, about 5 minutes early, we learned they did not honor our request and tried to fit the 5 of us at a table for four. Far worse, that table was very near several other occupied tables, and the restaurant was far in excess of the current state's capacity requirements (which we will be reporting). Since it was prime time for dining on a Saturday night, and they were eventually able to seat us at a large table a sufficient distance from other diners, we stayed. The food, as usual, was good, except for the watery cappuccino. But I was surprised at how little they seemed to care about how they treated us, not only *not* offering a complimentary appetizer, dessert, or even a coffee, but barely even saying a, "We're sorry." That is especially surprising as until now we've been good customers, and were so recognized. For our own safety it will be quite a while, if ever, before we return. And their poor response to these problems only increases our likelihood of finding alternative dining venues for a long time to come. read more

Four of us arrived to have a very late lunch/early dinner at about 3:30pm and found they were having a private shower at the time. We turned around and walked away, but the owner said, "come back in 20 mins". We wandered a few stores away and then when we decided to go somewhere else since it was cold out and we were on a tight schedule....he invited us in and sat us in the back while the party continued up front. We shared a fresh mozzarella ball with tomatoes and basil which was very good, and the bread came to the table immediately, which was very nice. My entree was Coconut crusted salmon with scalloped potatoes and veggies. It was presently beautifully(photo to follow), and was a thick piece of salmon which was just amazing! My piece was big enough to lend itself to leftovers. The honey mustard sauce was delightful and when my friend asked for more, I also was given some. My husband had two lamb chops which were cooked to his liking and he ate every last bite. Being from NY, where we don't have many BYOB restaurants, I feel the prices may be somewhat inflated to account for the loss of wine/beer/liquor being purchased....My entree was $24 which is more than I would usually pay. The fact that you CAN bring your own wine was a major factor in going there, so I still give the place 5 stars! read more

Owners Harold and Oscar Vargas, natives of Guatemala, and all of their hardworking employees at this fine establishment are class acts. I've been dining at CB for awhile now and I have never been anything but blown away by their extraordinary service, exquisite cuisine, and cozy-chic ambiance. After months of quarantine, it was wonderful to eat al fresco with my family last night. I hadn't been here since 2018, when we hosted my sister's wedding shower, which, by the way, was splendid! Harold and his team's incredible efforts made for a fantastic event that went off without a hitch from start to finish. What a beautiful day that was and what fine memories were made. I've had everything here from the salads, to the Goat Cheese Tart appetizer, to the pasta, and last night, I ordered the Braised Short Ribs. My family ordered the salmon and duck and all were so pleased! We started out with the fried calamari and steamed clams. Humongo KUDOS TO OSCAR, who made our night perfect! Oscar, you are the cream of the crop! Thanks for making us all feel so special! This restaurant is BYOB and there are plenty of liquor stores very nearby. Decided to give this place a try with a good friend I hadn't seen in way too long. Upon entering, the restaurant had a pretty nice ambiance. There was no host so I waited for a server to become available to be seated ( was not a long wait at all). The lunch/ brunch menu prices were reasonable 11-14 on average. We got our food and we both enjoyed it very much. I got grilled chicken over penne and she got a banana and cream waffle. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the chicken was seasoned and not dry . The service is what rubbed me the wrong way. Our server was very attentive but not personable from the time we arrived. He made sure we had what we needed but seemed annoyed the entire time. My friend and I ended up staying for a while to catch up and he made it clear we weren't really welcome to stay- he came up to us way to often to "see if we needed anything." Believe me, the place was far from crowded And there were plenty of table available. When we did ask for the check he got a little cheeky which both my friend and I are always open to a little sass but since he had been so reluctant to engage ( we never even got a name) it rubbed us the wrong way. Front of house staff was as well trained and professional as the kitchen, we definitely "dined" this evening. The warm homemade bread and soft butter was a great start, followed by a beautiful house salad. The appetizer of grilled eggplant and tomato mozzarella with a balsamic reduction was a fantastic rendition. The tuna steak with encrusted with black and white sesame seeds was perfectly presented and cooked just enough. The flat iron steak and shrimp scampi combo was mouth watering! This place was just not good. My husband's french onion soup was a hot bowl of ketchup with onions covered in cheese. My clam chowder was unremarkable but edible; the crab cake salad was awful. The crab cake was so salty that I could have defrosted my driveway with it. The dressing was too heavy and again too salty, overwhelming the poor spinach.
