Tonight I called confused about a prescription and I spoke to someone in the pharmacy named "Patience" which is such a fitting name for that sweet girl! She was so kind and so helpful. A lot of times people on the phone can seem in a rush or irritated by someone with lots of questions but Patience was so sweet and helpful. Oohh...well, let's just say that this store is in an area that's far more run-down and seedier than I'd have expected. I stopped in here to pick up a few items for which I had coupons close to expiring since I happened to be in the neighborhood, and while I accomplished what I wanted to, the store was comparatively dirty, the layout confusing, the parking lot very tight, and employees who were not at all friendly or helpful. Stopped in to see if they had rack of lamb and was happy to see they had some - but something wasn't right. Since it was over $23/lb., I was being picky - trying to find two that were close in weight. Then I found this (see picture). It looked and felt the same as the other one I picked up, which was 1.25 lbs. but the package said 2.68 lbs. for $64.29 before the member discount! I took it to the meat counter and asked for a manager. When he came out, I asked him to weigh it for me. No problem. 1.25 lbs. He laughed and said, "Somebody got ahead of themselves." I'm writing this on Fred Meyers grocery side of the house because the jewelry store is subcontract of the store I presume. My wife and I went into Fred Meyer Jewelry Store thinking they would be as good as the grocery store side of the house so we went in to get a Pearl worked on. We were met with the employee who assured us the work could be done but she would check with the jewelry person who will do the job. We agreed that I wanted an estimate before the work would be done. After a week my wife and I were shocked that no one called for the estimate, so after NINE days I walked into the Fred Myers on Highway 99 and approached the Jewelry counter. The female manager was there and I asked her about my jewelry and why she did not call after NINE days. She began giving excuses after excuses. Then through the conversation I discovered they had drilled my pearl and began the work without my estimate. I asked her again why she did not call me and why she drilled my pearl with telling me about the estimate. She again began giving me excuses. She then called her store manager and I overheard her telling the a person over the phone please come I have a "hostile" customer here. She was actually trying to describe me the customer as hostile so the person responding would already have a preconceived notion that I was hostile when I was asking her difficult questions. When the Store Lead arrived he listened to both sides, questioned why after nine days she did not give the customer an estimate before doing the jewelry work. She again gave him nothing but excuses. She even said to me you think just because you have money you are better? I was offended and affronted by this kind of service, I told the Store Lead "I am the customer" and she treated me really bad, did not bother to call me for an estimate and told me that because I have money you think you are better? In the end, the store lead told me he would handle it, I believe he was professional and listened to both sides. I later thanked him for his handling of this rude manager. I am an asian Pacific Islander from Hawaii and felt discriminated against because of the statements that were made, tone of voice and treatment. I don't like this Fred Meyer .. something about the layout and the weird lighting feels so uncomfortable and uninviting . However , it's pretty close and at times I have no choice but to begrudgingly come in .Location wise they are excellent and right off highway 99 , so very convenient . They do have well stocked aisles and the staff is friendly . The produce section is good , with most of the produce being fresh and there is a bit of variety as well . I thought this place is actually pretty great because I was used to shopping at Safeway and the prices here definitely a lot cheaper. They have the section where they sell bread that is actually significantly cheaper. I was able to find everything that I wanted to just walking around this place, it's actually really really big it doesn't just have groceries but also things like make up and flowers and household goods. When I was in the line and there seem to be three people queuing up, they actually opened up a separate line just for me and I really appreciated that since I was kind of in a rush to get to work afterwards. Anyways I would really recommend this place since they even have this pick up option and coupons online so it seems like a way for me to shop for a little bit less than say Safeway. read more

We have been doing grocery delivery since the start of quarantine and it's been ok for the most part. But in the last few weeks every time we get produce it come rotten, moldy, and fowl. It's disappointing because I know Fred Meyers carries better produce than Safeway, and getting it in this condition is very telling. It tells me they are sending out produce they know to be old and rotten to get the sale, and as a loyal customer for years this is a slap in my face. This Fred Meyer is truly excellent and exceptional. I come here for work frequently. Their employees are helpful and courteous, their shelves are almost always freshly stocked, and they do their best to update their online customers when they no longer carry items. All of these things greatly help me as an instacart shopper, since I don't have to hassle or haggle about anything. Also, it's extremely helpful that they tell instacart what aisle everything is in. This makes it so that my shopping is quick, to the point, and I can get more orders to more customers. Even when I'm here on my own, it's very easy and the staff are so helpful. The stores layout is also nice, and they have pretty much anything I could need. read more

I'm housesitting this weekend in Vancouver so I'm not normally at this Fred Meyer. This one is a larger Fred Meyer than I am used to. When you walk in the doors the produce section is really big and beautiful and the produce looks incredible. I walked up and down the isles and everything just looks healthy and fresh. The produce department associates were attentive without being annoying and really were paying attention to the product and the people in a good balance. The rest of the store is clean and well lit and it was interesting to notice what products sell in Southeast Portland versus what products are not available in Vancouver Washington. I was just observing. No real value judgment or statement on that one. When I went to check out, the cashier started up a hilarious and interesting conversation with me about the chips I was buying. It was just a very natural conversation and not too long and not too short. I always appreciate when people at the checkout are actually noticing the people they are checking out. It makes both of our days go better. I would definitely come back to this one and suggest getting your produce here. read more

Grocery store wise, it has everything you need. These are one of the local grocery chains, from the same suppliers as the Kroger and HEB In the southern states. We walked around and scoped it out to see what made it unique. The bakery and deli are okay. The food was a little old and it was early in the day, so they might have been preheated from the day prior. Tried chicken wings and onion rings from the deli. They were really hard. A tad more and they'd be inedible. Will return, but probably not for the deli food, but will most likely give it a try later on tho. read more

I have never had a cake done by Fred Meyers. I usually use Albertsons or Safeway. I will never buy another cake from here! I paid to have this cake customly made and this isn't what it was supposed to look like and when I picked it up I noticed it was placed on the sheet all jacked up the frosting was patchy here and there. I was expecting it to have actually mounds on it that looked like dirt just like the picture. Pretty sad you make sure your displays look good but the customized cakes are horrible. I have been shopping at Fred Meyer all my life and they are decent to deal with. They issue is the today and last time I wanted produce there the tomatoes were moldy. I mean, they advertise on TV that they're "Fresh". How does a package of cherry tomatoes get moldy if they're fresh. I couldn't find a produce person anywhere either. I look around and none of them look fresh. They have excellent meat and you can get some decent prices on other groceries but I won't buy produce there anymore unless I can see that they're paying attention and putting out fresh produce. read more

Came here the other day for free Flu shot but sadly pharmacy was it was closed and it wasn't not big deal at all though. The only thing that upset me is there is a group of three staff just chatting around and all I need was a quick question. I tried to get one of the staff attention and then suddenly a rude blonde staff was very rude and says "what are looking for?" In a rude attitude! terrible costumer service! This is a Fred Meyer "Marketplace" store. It will not have apparel or shoes, but does have all the other departments found in a Fred Meyer hypermart. You can come here for groceries, a deli, a bakery, a butcher and seafood counter, "Natural Choices," electronics, and some housewares. Full service Fred Meyer stores are located south of here in Portland or to the southeast in Vancouver ("Grand Central" or the "Mill Plain" store). Although they do have a shopping card, it's not "tied" to pricing, as is stated on their sign-up form. Hooray for a small store with friendly people. The pharmacy is great and Charles the cashier is one of my favorites.

It's hard for department stores to stay nice in rougher neighborhoods. Fred Meyer seems to be one of the few chains that makes an effort - seriously, look at all of them. We should be glad they don't just pack up and move - but they go beyond that - they keep a clean store with friendly staff and well-stocked shelves. You can find options at a Fred Meyer that you can't find in most grocery stores...let alone waiting around for Whole Foods to move in to an un-hip neighborhood. But I digress. Here's the lowdown: * Great Produce, Deli, General Grocery, Beer, Wine, Spirits, house goods, and home supplies sections. * Very (probably the smallest of all FM's) tiny meat section - the butcher case was remodeled and is now tiny. I often don't buy meat here for this very reason...I don't like small selection with low turnover. * Strangely, they put a huge amount of clothing into this location during the last remodel. They must know more than I do about how well that performs...I just can't believe that people in this area specifically will buy clothes there. Anyway, if you need a nicer place to shop in the guy of HWY 99 in Hazel Dell, then this is the one. read more

I can't shop here anymore. Apparently this is where you go if you don't want to pay for your merchandise..honestly how you're still open I'll never know. I have been shopping here for a few years and haven't had much of a problem until yesterday when I ordered groceries for curbside pickup. There was no clear signage as to where the pick-up parking spaces were. I was directed by an employee to a wrong area of the parking lot, which had a sign with an arrow pointing to a corner of the lot that was far from the pick-up area. I had to go into the store, and when I told another employee about the sign, he gave me an attitude. When I finally found the correct area and parked (which was in an obscure area on the far end of the garden center), I told the employee who brought out my groceries about the sign on the other end of the parking lot. She said there's nothing she could do and that it would be an issue with management. Very disappointing experience. I will not pick up my groceries at this location again. read more

I ordered a cake from the bakery for a birthday which was supposed to have roses all around the top of the cake and a chocolate flavored cake. Instead I got 3 roses on the top of the cake and a yellow cake... Thankfully this cake wasn't a red velvet cake as the birthday girl is severely allergic to it. Also, the handwriting on the cake looks terrible, the exclamation mark is crooked (I didn't ask for an exclamation mark specifically). This is very very disappointing as I gave very specific and simple instructions. The yellow cake was not even good and the filling which was fudge (like I ordered) wasn't good either it tasted like bottled chocolate syrup. None of my guests liked the cake. This was an absolute waste of time as I normally order cakes from Safeway but out of convenience I ordered from this Fred Meyer which was clearly a mistake. read more

Fred Meyer - Completely wrong... - Grocery Near Me - Vancouver, Washington

As a loyal Fred Meyer customer for more than 30 years, it saddens me to write this review. I have only good things to say about the Longview, WA location, but I have no good things to say about the Hazel Dell location, located on Hwy 99 in Vancouver, WA. There have been several occasions that my daughter & I have needed things that this location doesn't carry. One time I asked if they sold butane for lighters & was told no, but my daughter & I saw 3 canisters hidden behind a customer service rep's coat. The three women working behind the counter didn't even bother pulling it up on the computer or moving a simple coat to see if there were any on the shelf. Lack luster layabouts, in my opinion. This morning, I called to cancel my prescriptions as I have another form of insurance. That call went without a hitch. Approximately 15 minutes later, I received a recorded message reminding me to pick up my prescription. I called back with the intention of having them drop me from the auto-calls, but when Roberta heard me say 3 words she just kept cutting me off. I asked repetitively to have my number removed from the auto-calls to no avail. The next thing I knew, she said, "sure," & promptly hung up. I called back & asked what I needed to do to take me off the auto-call. She argued with me a bit until another person asked her a question. That's when her demeanor changed (at least the tone of her voice), & she started apologizing to me but still wouldn't let me finish a sentence. I asked to speak to someone else as we were having communication issues & was told "no" that she could handle it. I said I didn't want to speak with her & "Now, I want to speak to a supervisor." I repeated that over & over again, & when she finally shut up long enough to hear me, Roberta told me that there was no supervisor or manager. She then put me on hold. After 11 minutes another pharmacy rep came on the line. I asked if she was a supervisor & was told "no." I asked to speak to a supervisor & was told by this person that there wasn't one available. I said, "Fine. I'll call corporate." Before calling corporate, I called the customer service desk to try to connect with a pharmacy manager or a store manager. The person that answered the phone didn't listen to me but placed me on hold for the store manager anyway. The line clicked back over to remind him that I was still on hold, & he picked up the line with, "Are you still on hold for Kim Hall?" I answered, "I have no idea as you put me on hold before knowing anything that's going on." He responded with, "I have 4 other lines lit up here & don't have time to listen to everyone." I told him that being in a field of service he should give every customer 100%. I still was never transferred to the manager, Kim Hall, & noone took my name or number for her to reach me, either. I called corporate, too. I do NOT recommend this pharmacy or this store. I WILL NOT set foot in another Fred Meyer again (including my hometown), & I will encourage everyone else to shop anywhere else. read more

I really do not know where to start... This evening May 31st, 2019..I stopped to purchase a few items... Fred Meyers, In Longview, Wa..were having a BOGO on their chicken..(family packs)..I bought a pack of thighs..as well, as drumsticks.. I approached the check/out stand with a book..the chicken and a few other items.. The checker "Kristen"...seemed a bit frazzled..and when, I asked if, my book had rang up at 40% off..(the sale)...she huffed..as if it was an issue...I made mention of her attitude..as she said "I wish they would price these correctly...and I replied I wish the customer was not the one expected to bring it to the cashier's attention.. Anyway, my groceries were bagged..I went to my car..loaded my purchases...and looked over my receipt...I noticed I was charged for the thighs..(which I expected..but, also the drumsticks... I returned inside the store..and brought my receipt to Kristen..(The checker)...she glanced at it ..said, it was correct and showed it to her nearby coworker..she said it was correct also!.. I, then asked to speak with the manager..(Joy)...Joy looked at it and said it was correct too...(this is 3 people)..okay.. Feeling frustrated I returned to my car..got halfway home and pulled over and called to speak to the manager again! Joy told me to return, once again, to the store with said receipt...I told her I would but, was expecting to be compensated for all of this.. Sure enough, I was charged for the drumsticks!!!! Three people and a good half hour later..I left with the 9.75, they owed me for their error..and a 15.00 g/c (My compensation)....which I will use on gas..as I plan to never step foot in that store again.. I have been a loyal customer of Fred Meyers for 40 plus years...and this is not "by far"..the first time I have been required to return to the store for their error.... I guess, I could overlook this if, the customer service had been more congenial.... Joy, the manager...was helpful...but, It took me to get my money back!!! Anyway, Just felt the need to vent! I have shopped at this store for 21 years and think that they do pretty good job. I will not let one bad experience define the hundreds of good ones. What store is perfect ? They have a fair amount of selection and there are bargains to be had. True not always the lowest price on everything but what store is ? No store would be in business if that were the case. I dont care for the parking lot update but have learned to live with it. Clark county has widened the road now shrinking the lot. I will continue to shop there. read more

Our Family likes flavored coffee. Our favorite is a chocolate mocha, we use Torani Chocolate syrup with a dash of cream. It seems like it was always sold out, I asked the manager if they could increase the stock so I and other customers wouldn't have to go elsewhere until a new shipment came in, the manager said it was a "Corporate" choice to drop this product. They still carry the Terani syrups, just not the one that always sells! How stupid is that? This is not the first time this has happened.
