The pharmacy has lost its charm. Starting with the manager Cooper who gets off on yelling at customers in front of other customers. Also, the entire staff has become so rude as though we are bothering them when we pick up. My wife and I have chosen another location because of one of their employees constant flitting with older men. Then turns it around and plays the victim. We don't support this pharmacy and either do most of our neighbors as I post all on our social media here on the neighborhood Facebook. read more

I really enjoy coming to this Safeway because of Solomon! He is the kindest employee I've ever come across. He greets me with "Hello Princess", and will come all the way around from his check stand to put my groceries into my cart. I work part time for a delivery service, so I come here often, and he has the same happy-go-lucky attitude every single time I come in! We definitely need more people like him in this world. Their fried chicken, for the last couple of times that I bought their fried chicken it has been awful. I don't know if they've changed cooks or what the deal is. Safeway is a consistent in what it is from location to location. It is an average large chain supermarket with fewer and less helpful than expected employees. Prices are on the higher side. This location has a large parking lot and is conveniently located to many other businesses. This location also offers "hybrid sushi" (whatever that is), which I didn't care to experiment with. read more

Most of the staff here is friendly, but the short guy who opens the bakery section most days can't get food out on time to save his life- I stop by most mornings on my way to work to get breakfast from their bakery and end up walking out without food ~80% of the time. That guy absolutely sucks and has zero respect for the customers who are relying on Safeway providing *CONSISTENT* services- whenever he's asked if food is almost ready, he acts like the customer is the biggest inconvenience in his life. The one upside to this place is that the Chinese food part of the deli has my favorite dish. However, I was underwhelmed and, frankly, disgusted by what I saw today. Ordered a few entrees and the person who served us, while friendly, he made a greasy mess of every box of food and presented them to us. I went to get napkins to wipe them off, clearly uncomfortable with the state of the containers, had to ask for a bag or larger box for one because it was too greasy to even wipe down. He then just set the bag next to the container for us to take care of. Serving on a line like that can be a messy job, that is way there are SOPs in place. The employee should've changed his gloves and repackaged the food when i voiced my concerns with the mess. It was rather disappointing. read more

I used to make a special trip to Safeway to get croissants. There were 8 to a box- and on Fridays they were $5. They were a good size and flakey. I've noticed they're very rarely on $5 Fridays anymore- and they're getting smaller. I bought a box yesterday, and I'm thinking of taking it back. They're VERY small and are the consistency of a rock. Seriously, they are terrible. I guess I'm going to start making special trips across town to Chuck's. Not as many in the box, more money, but at least they don't taste like hockey pucks. read more

Safeway is the store I love to hate. I find the employees are a bit rude. I feel like I'm a intruder shopping when the stocker has a cart in the lane. The checkers are pretty surly. I found it inconvenient when I bagged my own groceries but it was better then bagging everything in one bag....potatoe chips are crushed, eggs under can goods...I brought inn4 bags and she used 2. When I started to say something g I got a angry look and said what. I said never mind but she challenged me. I just said give me the bag and returned the nasty look. This Safeway location seems to be on the on the larger size compared to the rest of the locations in Vancouver. They have a great variety of items and fresh produce. Grocery pickup is fast and easy. Employee attitude can be hit or miss but for the most part they seem bothered to be working. Flower department has a larger selection. read more

I ordered delivery from the Safeway store on 16200nd Ave in Vancouver, Wa, because I am in quarantine. I won't give you all the painful details, but here's a shortened version: It did not arrive within the promised time slot and customer service promised it was on its way. After an hour they said they would email me with ETA. An hour after that, no email and still not there. I contacted them again. They said the store would call me. No call was received and the order did not arrive. An hour after that they said a manager would call me in 30 min. No call was received and the order never got here. I Called the store in the morning. They offered to refund my delivery cost and deliver it now. We will see. I'm not optimistic. After this ordeal I may never shop at Safeway again. When I told them that, they seemed completely unfazed. I guess they don't mind loosing customers. read more

Store never has enough checkers. I asked for another line to be opened only about a dozen people behind 1 checker. Also I wondered around looking for something. I asked an employee ( took forever to find one) and he was like idk I think it's the next aisle over. It wasn't was in that very aisle. Avoid this store go to Walmart. I'm not a fan of this particular Safeway. They are frequently out of such staples as milk and they need to either get more checkers or get some of their super slow checkers into gear. (To be fair there are a few good ones, but the bad ones are REALLY bad. I once asked "Where's the tartar sauce?" And was told "Nobody buys that." Uh, hello? Where do they find such bad employees? I gave up on the meat counter where customers are frequently ignored. They might tell the big guy who bags groceries that he is not clever and nobody wants to hear his schtick. But the last straw came two days ago. Lots of customers were lined up, only two registers going and clerk Robyn was engaging in a long conversation with someone and gassing on about "America's immigration policies." The people in line were getting pissed but this clerk didn't seem to notice or care. Seriously? Just shut up and get the line moving! Safeway corporate needs to take a good hard look at it his store. read more

Their deli food is great. Their orange chicken tastes too much like an orange. But their breakfast burritos are the BOMB! I can always rely on Safeway to have quality fruit. Their seasonal outdoor baby back ribs are so yummy. They have Starbucks, if you did not know. There is no self checkout and the lines are often long, ESPECIALLY around after-work hours, the end of the day. The store is so small and cramped, when the lines are so long people are standing in the aisles, blocking traffic of those who are still shopping. WHAT is with Safeway's gas station holding $100 on your debit card when you pay at the pump? I was just getting to LOVE the discounted gas (the more you spend in the store the more discount you get) and then suddenly last Saturday they sprang this on me with NO warning! There were no signs that I could see informing you that this was going to happen. The store manager claims a lot of gas stations do this now (so that makes it ok?), and the attendant at the gas station claims it's been that way for a long time (NOT true!). They tell me that the hold will only be on my account for 24 hours, but it took 5 days for the charge to drop off. And if you don't have $100 in your account you can't buy gas! It's a DEBIT card, what if I don't have $100 extra to tie up? Well you can pay with the attendant but in order to swipe your card you have to "estimate' how much you'll pump (which is hard since you don't find out how much your discount is until AFTER you swipe your debit card) and then go back and get your change...which means you have to stand in line twice, tying up a lot more of your time than you should need to. Safeway, I think this is a TERRIBLE business practice! Shame on you!! read more

The worst service that I've received in a long time.I pulled into the gas station at 9:59 walked to the kiosk where the attendant was I wanted to pay cash for the gas because I don't like using my debit card because they put a hold on your money he cut the light out as I was walking towards the the building and informed me through darkened glass without using the microphone that he closed at 10 and he had already started counting his till I looked at my phone and time was 10:01, I asked didn't you see me when I pulled up? He just shook his head wouldn't look at me and told me there was nothing he could do. I went to the main store and spoke to an assistant manager Cody and asked him was this store policy and he informed me that he couldn't understand why the cashier would treat me like that, was there anything he could do, well there's nothing he could do I just wanted to buy some gas I was just trying to spend money I wouldn't buy anything at that Safeway with your money. read more

When I got there nobody knew what I was talking about except one person who is too busy making sandwiches to figure anything else out. This is your standard newer Safeway. Lots of parking, easy to navigate, Starbucks in store, deli and pleasant staff. Lots of open check out lines so no waiting to pay and go. If you show up after 10PM you can only get in and out of one door so pay attention as you pull in or you will have to do some walking. read more

This is our neighborhood Safeway. I seriously hate it. The checkers don't know about bagging at all. They are usually talking to each other making you feel like your not there or you might be a paying customer. I have been making the drive to Freddy's recently and I like it better, and alas new Walmart is upon us also. This Safeway is broken and after 10 years and new options I don't think I will ever go there again. read more

So this is our Safeway. It is literally a block away from home so it is hard to avoid. I have had so many mixed experiences here it is hard to give a good rating or a bad one. There are a few checkers that I prefer, a couple that I definitely don't. The produce could be a lot fresher, if you want the freshest produce in the store you have to pick it from the stand nearest the front door. The meat department is okay, but Safeways brand of ground beef is bland. The bakery is always nice enough to offer a free cookie to my kiddo. Safeway hot dog buns go bad too quick so I always buy name brands. I wish the floral department wasn't so expensive, I might actually buy something there. I shop here due to convenience and price of grocery items. If there was a competitor closer I might use them. The bathrooms are pretty gross, so I always use the restroom before I go. My son once knocked over a pyramid made of Styrofoam coolers that broke into a million pieces, but they didn't make me pay for them. So that was pretty nice. I hope they use this feedback to better the experience, but....they've got me. read more

Bad service. I was having trouble trying to find where the macaroni aisle was, so decided to ask one of the workers. The worker name was Kionna. When I asked for assistant, she gave me an attitude and didn't seem like she cared or wanted to help me. In the end I was unable to have assistant and wasn't able to find the item. I was told by Kionna that, safe way doesn't serve macaroni in a box. I thought it was pure laziness and very un professional. I don't know if this is her usual self but if I was the manager I would fire her ASAP. I just moved near safe way too about 5 min from here. Overall I'm not coming to this Safeway anymore and was bummed out since I'll have to drive further to buy my groceries, either at fred meyer or walmart. At least they provide friendly service.
