We go here a lot for convenience and I will say that I am NOW a fan after the remodel. I am still not to in love with the way the parking lot of this store is structured but the store's layout is great now. The store is also way cleaner ad more appealing looking with its new paint and everything. Their deli and produce departments improved a whole lot as well and everything really seems a lot fresher. The Walker Road, Portland, Fred Meyer Pharmacy, was an epic fail. I scheduled a Covid Rapid test online with Pharmacy. I arrived half hour early, assuming I could check in but shop beforehand. When I checked in I was told that they were out of test kits. I asked why they accepted my online appointment and didn't cancel? I was told that there was nothing they could do. I went to FM customer service to complain. Store manager took my information and was to get back. i also contacted the Kroger customer service hotline. Talked with Jose. ExplainEd experience, and while on call received a cancellation notice from Pharmacy. I told Jose that I expected the appointment to be rescheduled at another location, test being at no cost due to pharmacy issues. I was told that my complaint would be escalated. Tweeks later, no response fro store or Kroger customer service. read more

My complaint is regarding a specific employee who was working the return counter. Her name is Amanda, I had gone in on 11/1/2022 a little after 5pm to return/ exchange some Halloween lights I had bought at the same store 10/26/2022. When setting up the lights on Halloween the light wiring wasn't working properly so I was unable to use the light because they were defected. So because I was busy on Halloween 10/31/2022 I didn't have time to return or exchange the light I planned on going in the following day to do so at this Fred Meyers. That's when Amanda was of no help and honestly rude. I had ask to either return the item or exchange the item she shut me down right away and said sorry we don't take holiday items back once the season has passed. But even after explaining my situation she dismissed me and said nope sorry with a smirk on her face. When asked to speak to her manager to possibly explain my situation again and have them plug in the defected lights she said..... " I am the manager!" That's when I guess I felt defeated. So I went about my evening to grab some groceries and took home my defected lights, I then decided to call the Fred Meyer customer service line from home since my experience was quite awful. The customer service line confirmed they did not have such a policy and that the would credit me the amount for the item because it did not work. I also want to not that Amanda was not the manager and she just told me that to get me to keep my defected item. What an awful experience. I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone in the store to let them know that there customer service counter was so awful and I had to call customer service to even get proper help for my issue. read more

Nice store, currently struggling with the ongoing COVID-related and economic issues facing all businesses, including supply issues (i.e. temporarily out of stock items). Overall a good place to shop, I shop here regularly. I do have one complaint (thus only 4 stars) regarding the 2 Blink EV charging stations on the east side of the store: they don't work. I drive a plug-in hybrid and do like to utilize available charging stations when out and about. According to a Blink representative, last summer (July 2021) Blink upgraded their system such that their old chargers - like the ones at this Fred Meyer store - will no longer work without that upgrade. Apparently Fred Meyer opted to not upgrade (according to the Blink rep) and the chargers themselves have sadly fallen into disrepair. Since Oregon is moving faster toward EV mandates, and since I drive an EV, I'm hoping they will soon upgrade to restore this convenience. read more

Gas prices are always great here and the fuel quality is up in the top tier. They stay pretty competitive to Costco, plus you get cash off based on your purchases at Fred Meyer and QFC. Only draw back is the attendants 50% of the time have no sense of urgency to take care of their customers. This feeds the desire to want Self Service in Oregon. read more

This place is so good it just might make me never go anywhere else for stuff I need! The prices are competitive and comparable to other supermarkets. Some things are more expensive here and some things are cheaper, so you'd have to shop around and see. I love their growler fill station! They have about 10 different drafts and they rotate every few weeks or so. They have a well lit draft list and when you're ready, you just use the phone to call someone over for help! You can even sample a couple before you make up your mind. The thing that impressed me most about this location was the service. They were honest, friendly, and helpful. What more could you want? After 30 years of shopping at this Walker Road location and after numerous negative experiences in the last year, today was my last day shopping at the Walker Road location. I have seen the manager having a heated discussion in the produce section, a checker rolling her eyes because I asked for a paper towel to dry off the very wet belt for her, the deli has ignored me more than three times, pharmacy gave me a medication I am allergic to, and now my receipt does not reflect my digital coupons. Customer service also needs to learn what customer service is! Hopefully another location has a better group of management and employees. read more

My Mom purchased five Fred Meyer gift cards total $600 on Dec 21,2020. It was Christmas present for us. My brother went to use it on Dec 26 and the balance on the card was zero. We checked all the cards and found only one have a balance of $10. We went to customer service and told them what happened. All they did was gave us a phone number to call and to report the incident. This is terrible. They don't even realized that their security system for all their gift cards has been compromised. Someone hacked into their system and steal all/some of the account/pins numbers from the cards. As soon as the cashier activated the cards, the hacker can steal the amount on the cards instantly. Fred Meyer will not refund your money. They said it will take time to investigate. The solution? Don't buy gift cards from Fred Meyer. Better yet, don't bother shop there, the customer service sucks. read more

Troubled times expose the true nature of people. We seldom go here but due to lines at Costco we decided to stop here on the way home to pick up some quick groceries. Our experience as a immigrant with the few management folks at this store tells us to never visit this Fred Meyers again. The managers we interacted at this store have a clear biased attitude in how they communicate with some customers. A simple issue around processing our reward points was turned into a meaningless argument. The store manager rather than being helpful to solve the problem on hand, was rude and appears to not treat all customers as equal. I can't believe how my fiance was treated at the customer service desk of all places. She went to the customer service desk about 9:30 p.m. because she had cash( large bills) and wanted one broken and wanted to make it easier on any cashier so she went to the customer service desk . After paying for her stuff she saw a $50bl bill that the lady was about to give her that was kind of older( as I collect old bills ) she asked if she could have the 50 and the lady proceeded to put it back in the drawer and said no that she couldn't do that that they recycle the bills and that she couldn't give it to her. I shop at Fred Meyers all over the Portland/Beaverton/Tigard/Hillsboro area for Instacart and this location had the worst customer service ever. Every single encounter I had was met with rudeness and poor attitudes for absolutely no reason. In produce, at the meat counter, another associate in grocery, and at the register. It doesn't matter how much you hate your job. You don't need to be unkind to customers who don't deserve it. When that many associates are rude and in bad moods, it can only be inferred that there is poor management and they are not being treated well behind the scenes. The ONLY reason I'm giving only 4 stars in because the only complaint I really have about this store is the newer employees, especially the younger ones. I have encountered some very rude and self entitled people mostly working on the front end. I told one girl bagging my groceries, "thank you I appreciate you." Instead if saying you're welcome she have me a dirty look and was super rude. The only other drawback is home delivery is done by a Third Party company and not Fred Meyer and it was a disaster and I will never use delivery again. Other than that the store is always clean and well stocked. The associates from different departments down to jewelry are kind and helpful. I use ClickList twice A month. The associates take time to know you. They know what substitutes you want for our if stock items. Order is ALWAYS ready at the appointed time. Kristina the ClickList manager always goes the extra mile to make sure customers are taken care of. Inside at the service counter there is a lady named Lindy who has been there forever. She is always so kind and nice to chat with. I could tell one day she wasn't feeling well, But she was still warm and friendly and greeted everyone with a smile. Shiplifters dream. Walked around rhe electronic and tool section for 10 min looking for ANYONE To open a case. Had to go to the front of the store. Said excuse me to what looked like a manager who held up a finger in a "one moment" gesture....then walked away. Waited around for another 10 min, even tried to use the assistence phone....nothing. Sooooo....staff your store better please. And shoplifters....go teach em a lesson EDIT I went to customer service (located at the very front of the store) i said to the older gentleman there "hey you guys dont seem to have anyone working in the back of the part of the store at all." He asked "which departments?" I said "electronics, automotive, paint, hardware....the whole back of the store". He pointed to another guy about 5 feet from him (AT THE FRONT OF THE STORE) and says "[employees name] works back there." Today, my vacuum cleaner took a shit on me one year to the day after I got it. AND, it was a swap out from one I had bought some 9 months earlier which had crapped out also. So this is TWICE that Ive had a vacuum cleaner go bad on me. Now, I don't expect a $99 machine to last forever nor a $130 one. I do expect to get at least a couple years out of one though and anytime I manage to kill an item I always spend more the next time on its replacement. So for the second time, a vacuum cleaner has met an untimely death and I had to drag the dead carcass back to Freddys. For the second time, they simply scanned my receipt, put the amount on a gift card and thanked me. No hassle, no push back no nothing. You cant beat that, guys. While we're at it, I frequent this particular Fred Meyers...well....frequently. They always have a good selection of beer, the olive bar is always stocked with briney goodness, and their meat counter usually has SOMETHING for my bbq. This store's parking lot should come with an Accident Warning, you know, like a weather advisory. Accident is imminent or occuring! At the very least, Accident Watch: conditions are favorable for accidents to occur. Seriously, this parking lot is a disaster. I'm always waiting for somebody to smash into me, or run me over as I try to cross from the parking lot into the store! Yikes! And don't even get me started on how their gas station is arranged. It's pretty small, and you have to wait for your pump from a billion miles away. That place is one hot mess. I will never go there again. Inside the store though, no real complaints there. They have free WiFi! Lots of options for a quick lunch, and a nice little spot to sit and eat, so I don't have to spend any time in my company's breakroom. They don't even bother you if you bring your own food/drink. But yes, they do have a crap beer selection. The Freddy's on Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy has the largest selection in the area. I actually worked for the Beaverton Fred Meyer (Bvtn-Hillsdale) for 5 years and I see some of my old co-workers working at this store now. They're in the middle of a remodel right now but the store is still easily accessible. I have two children and whenever they're with me, they always want a FREE cookie from the bakery. There is one lady in the Bakery Dept. that is SO rude!!! I always avoid getting cookies for the kids if she is working. Other than that, I love this location!!! read more

This is my favorite Fred Meyer store of them all, and believe me, I've been to all of them. There's still a slight taint to the whole experience because Fred's is now owned by Kroger, but they make a distinct effort to retain a particular northwest vibe that I'm grateful for. One thing that they've improved by leaps and bounds in is the beer. Less than a half decade ago you could put Fred Meyer's beer selection next to Safeway/Thriftway/generic grocery store and they'd all be indistinguishable from one another. Not any more. Fred's has those 2 beaten by a mile. They've got a great 22 oz. beer selection in addition to 6 packs and half racks. Heck, I just read that the Craft Brewers Alliance bought Kona Brewing last week and Fred's ALREADY has 2 different Kona 6 packs. Love it. Otherwise, Fred Meyer is like the duct tape of convenience stores. Sometimes it's your first choice, sometimes it's your last choice, but no matter which choice it is, they'll have something that you need. read more

They have a great selection of beer and wine... better than any other grocery store I've been to in the area. Gas prices are generally the best in the area, especially if you have some Fred Meyer rewards points. I didn't give it five stars for a couple of reasons. Their grocery aisles aren't laid out very well, so it's hard to find things sometimes. Plus, their parking lot can get a little crazy with the Fred Meyer gas station and its unusual layout. It's a hell of a lot better than Wal-Mart. Slightly more expensive, infinitely more pleasant inside, and they have a bunch of OSU Beavers (and that crappy school from Eugene) gear. The few times I've needed help, the staff member I spoke to was kind and professional. The location is convenient on Walker Rd. and I've always like the Big Town Hero right outside one of the entrances. I just moved to Oregon and my first trip to Fred Meyers was disappointing based on all of the hype I've heard from other Oregonians. Much of the decor and clothing seemed old fashioned and over-priced. They take price drops and slashes to a whole new level. Most of the "deals" we saw were twice the price we would regularly pay with a GREAT DEAL of $10 off. so the final price came out to way more than I would pay at Target or a discount store or most anywhere else. Now I regularly go to this Fred Meyer since I finally settled down into Beaverton. The staff is friendly, mostly. The other day I went to the deli to grab something ready to eat. I stood there for 10 minutes while the ladies behind the counter chit chatted and never once looked at me. I finally decided to get something else, somewhere else. If you do get their ads in the sunday paper and keep up with price comparisons they do have good deals sometimes. I recently purchased a heavy winter coat for 50% off and it was actually a pretty good deal. The one really good thing that I can't get over about Fred Meyer's is the selection. I coupon, and often times Winco doesn't have the specific item I need, and safeway doesn't always have what is on the coupon either. Fred Meyers has all the different brands of ground turkey, or cat food, or laundry detergent, makeup, frozen ice cream, etc etc. so that is really nice. read more

Cans are often dented. They mix sweet and sour grapes in the same bag. I buy most of my produce from H-Mart and Indian stores. Likewise when I cook Mexican food I buy from a Mexican market. The produce here is often so-so, no good or spoils quickly. Plus the Asian markets have sensible prices for limes, lemons, mushrooms, and much more. read more

This is MY grocery store. It's close to home, clean, usually pretty well stocked, the staff are (sparse, but) friendly and helpful. There is a pretty large selection of organic produce and a good 'health' section. Also I like that I can buy my household odds and ends while buying my food stuffs. I shop at "Freddies" about once a week, and usually find everthing I'm looking for. Also, they have a bottle return center, so when my recycling is full, I take it down there are get my bottle deposits back! I get a little printed slip that I redeem when paying for my groceries. AND - another big reason I shop here - the club card racks up gas discount points. With as many groceries as I buy for our family of three, it's enough to get me 10 cents off per gallon almost every time we have to fill up. read more

The pick up service stinks. We try it once in a while when our schedule is very packed, and it always disappoints. This time was worse than normal. We asked for meat with a use by date of Friday, instead it was for Thursday, which means either we throw it out, or freeze and defrost which wastes a huge amount of our time. One of our eggs was cracked and the container looked smashed. We asked for Como bread and we got a "Artisan Sourdough" that had chunks of something in it, sold to us on its last day it could be. They forgot the grapes we ordered, and the ground chicken, and they switched the ground meat brand with another brand. All in all their pick up service feels like it is used to sell stuff they couldn't sell in the store. Extremely stressful for our family because instead of saving us time we will have to find a way to go to a store to get what we need, which just wastes our time. read more

The story of this Fred Meyer starts with a prior journey to Whole Foods. Whole Paycheck wanted $13 for a medium sized white pumpkin. I said no. So I traveled to Fred Meyer where they had white pumpkins! Yay! I was so excited. However, almost all the white pumpkins were damaged in some way. Yes, they were less expensive, but they weren't as nice as the stuck up Whole Foods ones. Meh. I purchased a decent one with a big gash on the top. I like to think of Freddie's as an upscale target. Actually they're better then that. This is the best feed Meyers in Beaverton I believe. I pick up a bunch of tools for work here as well as occasionally stopping by the electronics to browse. My one pet peeve with this location is the check out stand near the garden department. I cannot stand the people who go all the way over there with their chalk full shopping cart with food. Use the regular checkouts! The far check stand is for smaller 1-5 item purchases. I once had to wait fifteen minutes while a lady fondled through her coupons for her brim filled cart. Come on. Use the right checkout. read more

I might be a bit, biased but I believe it's the best Fred Meyer in Portland (suburbs obviously included) It truly is a one-stop shop for anything and everything you could possibly need... from meat to baby clothes to furniture to gas (they give you up to 10-cents off a gallon with a rewards card -yay).
