Strikes me as the type of place that does the right thing as a last resort when they have run out of other options - which is to say the least not a great experience. My car front seat stopped working - blown fuse etc. CLEARLY should have been covered under warranty. Arranged for a replacement with loaner car. As I'm about to enter the dealership on the scheduled day of repair I get a text message that they don't have loaner car. So I basically ignore this ridiculously unprofessional communication and mentioned that I expect to be given a rental car. They also start questioning whether it will actually be covered by warranty. Magically they find a loaner car after the text message asked for me to return another day - and finally acknowledge what we all knew the factory issue of course is covered by warranty. What's with all the drama? Car is fixed properly and in a timely fashion - 5 stars here. And they mention some routine maintenance - totaling $160. I okay the work and come to pick the car up. Again work done timely and well as far as I can tell - much appreciated. And the bill is wrong, it's higher. When I ask why the bill is higher I get some nonsensical answer with all sorts of diversions like we applied a coupon, etc. Bottom line is I flat out refuse to pay an amount higher than what I was quoted. They ask for some time to sort it out. After awhile no one returns so I simply leave the details for my credit card and authorize a payment in the agreed to amount and leave. After a longer while, I get a call saying that they will adjust the bill to $160. Why all the attempts to bait and switch? All in all a very inconsistent 3 out of 5 stars. read more

He insisted on calling my the lease company for my trade and told me he took care of everything... and he didn't. So 3 weeks after buying the car I got an unexpected bill from the lease company. The bill wasn't so much the issue as the "unexpected" part of it. I've purchased cars from Fred Beans before and never had an issue... my issue was really more worth the sleazy salesperson. Wish there was an option for 0 stars!!! Bought a 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT on 6/28/25 and have not yet had one day without an issue. The day we drove it home, the TPMS light came on and has been on ever since, even after 3 service appointments. The first available date we were given for the 1st service appointment was 7/9/25, conveniently well after the 5 day return window but I thought "it's only the TPMS light". Silly me! At that appointment, the only service provided was adding air to the tires and resetting the light. Providing superior service would entail taking one step further and maybe checking for a bad sensor. But no. The car was ready for pick up by 10am. Now, we had already checked the tire pressure and if it was as simple as the pressure was low, we would have added air ourselves rather than drive 30 minutes to bring the car for service. Appointment #2 was scheduled for 7/21/25. Lo and behold, it turns out that there were 2 bad sensors so we were told all 4 were replaced. Yet, later that day, the light was back on. Called 7/22/25 for a 3rd appointment and scheduled for next available appointment on 7/29/25. Isn't that when the 30 exchange policy expires? Dropped the car off 7/28/25 and told service advisor that wheel alignment needed to also be checked. The car was pulling to the left. 7/29/25, service advisor left voice message that TPMS issue resolved but replacement hubcap (missing after 7/21 appointment) hasn't been delivered yet. On 8/8/25, car was ready for pick up. When I arrived, I was given paperwork that says the tech reprogrammed the sensor again, drove the car and light was off. It also said that the alignment was adjusted. I started the car but didn't leave the lot because the TPMS light was still on! I drove it from the back of the parking lot to the front and after parking, noticed the steering wheel was in a diagonal position with the tires straight. Either the tech did not re-center the steering wheel after adjusting the alignment or we now have a steering column problem. Stay tuned for more! read more

I have purchased two vehicles from this dealership but am finished due to the service department. The deal on the car was okay. The usual situation, low-ball on the trade-in but not unexpected. The problem is with the service department. No diagnosis, just trying to upsell you on services, like draining all the brake fluid and replacing. Had a couple run-ins with a grouchy service consultant. Email complaints went unacknowledged, even though they asked for feedback. Registered complaints with the service manager and general manager (who sent email from one account signed by someone else). I was told that I wouldn't have to deal with the service consultant. Guess who I got on my very next appointment? Yup. The very guy I had complained about. As a result of this lack of customer care I will not be using Fred Beans service. It's overpriced anyway. Brought my vehicle in for a specific problem. There is an intermittent power loss that first seemed like a transmission problem. The dealership was unable to diagnose and solve the problem but that didn't stop them from trying to sell me on services that were unrelated to the issue. When the service advisor called me at 10:00 he tried to sell me an oil change, tires, alignment, and brake fluid change. They did recommend a fuel induction service which had a minor chance of being related to the problem, but ultimately was not. Dropped the car off the night before for an 8:10 am appointment. Asked that car be ready by 12:00 pm. Received a text that the car was in for service at 10:00 am. I never received a call or text that the car was finished, but it was not before 3:00. . On top of that the service writer, Thomas was extremely rude and unprofessional. I guess not calling, even though he said he would, was his final act of spite which just demonstrates how unprofessional he is. I will not use this service department again. Our family has bought more than a dozen cars from Fred Beans Hyundai over the years and we have referred many fiends as well. But those days have ended. Their customer service has went downhill into the cesspool. My daughter bought Gap insurance from them for a 2021 Kona. She was in a near death accident on July 10th. We purchased another car for her while waiting for the Gap Insurance check to settle the account. Meanwhile the Gap Insurance company sent the check to Fred Beans over 2 months ago and tells us Fred Beans should be issuing the check to us. We have called and talked to staff at the dealership and left messages for the last 2 months with them not issuing the monies we are due. They have giving us the run around. We are now going to have our attorney get involved and we are talking to the Pennsylvania State Insurance Department. This is the worst and most predatory and unprofessional car dealership I've ever been to in my life. they harassed my wife unprompted and when we complained the manager just takes "kyle's" side. so looking at all the yelp reviews from all the Fred beans, it seems that harassment and insane business practices are taught and rewarded. What you would typically expect from a used car dealership. Inattentive sales staff who do not communicate clearly, a finance manager who ignores you the second your check clears. We traded in two vehicles for significantly less than they were worth, and were aggressively pushed into warranty packages for the vehicle. We were told they could be cancelled and we would be reimbursed the prorated amount, so we agreed. I really wanted to give a good review for this place unfortunately that's not the case. They had a listing up of a used car, great carfax, one owner and regularly maintained. The previous owner of the vehicle seemed to take really good care of this vehicle. This listing had been up about 10 days by the time I saw it, inquired about it for them to tell me it hasn't even been looked at by the mechanics then when it was looked at they said it had too many problems and it can not be sold. When questioned about what was wrong with said vehicle they just said "I don't know. It wasn't worth fixing it. Sorry." I don't know about you but it seems quite unprofessional to post a vehicle that hasn't even been looked at yet to see if it's worth selling. Not to mention when we went in person to physically see the vehicle it was no where on the lot and when the salesperson went to asked the used car manager where it was he said it was up on the lift being looked at. I rarely write negative reviews, but I don't have 1 positive thing to say about Fred Beans (FB) Hyundai Sales or Service. Prior to 2019, we bought and serviced many cars at Conicelli. When Doylestown became more convenient, we decided to try FB. We leased a 2019 Kona and purchased a Tucson there in May 2020. For the Tucson, we were quoted a price and accepted it. Instead of contactless delivery we had to go to the dealership to complete the purchase. When we did, the price was $500 higher than agreed. We sat masked in the showroom and finally left without buying the car. FB called later, offering us our original price and contactless delivery. After dealing with the FB service team that treats us like more of a nuisance than a valued customer, we still decided to buy out the Kona lease at FB. We received emails from our salesman, Kyle, so I called him to set up an appointment. I began by saying he 'sold' us our leased 2019 Kona. He said he was not our salesman for the lease. I said his name is on the paperwork and we received emails from him recently. He again said I was incorrect; we must have dealt with the other Kyle. He said he has many customers and can't be expected to remember us. Normally, I would expect a salesman approached for an easy sale to just agree, but not Kyle. I was frustrated but decided to keep going. I told Kyle I wanted an appointment for my husband and I to go over the details and complete the lease buyout. Kyle only wanted to deal with me by text. I was hesitant but agreed. I was on another call when he first texted me, and the texts kept coming. They were questions I had already answered or questions I needed more information about. I think I replied and said I would rather talk live again than continue texting. He then started calling me, and then texted to tell me he got my voicemail. I replied, saying I was on another call and would text back when I was free. On our 2nd call, Kyle first explained the reason he had said he was not our original salesman was because the car is in my husband's name and he couldn't find it in the system. He kept asking if I understood why he had argued that he did not handle our 2019 lease. It seemed more important for him to be right than to sell us the Kona. Kyle finally started asking the same questions as before about my buyout requirements. Some required additional cost information from him, as well as discussion with my husband. When I voiced my frustration (without cursing or screaming) about being expected to have all the answers and having to communicate by phone or text, rather than an in-person meeting, he told me he has never been talked to like I was talking to him, and he was fine walking away from the deal rather than dealing with me. It was clear our lease buyout was not important to him or FB. I continued trying to move forward and answered his questions as best I could. He said he would text the numbers to me, which he did, with little explanation. After more texts back and forth, I asked him to email detailed pricing. He later emailed some details, but not everything I needed. My husband and I discussed the phone calls, texts, Kyle's rudeness and lack of interest in our business. We decided to contact Conicelli again. Our previous salesman had left, but I was forwarded to another, who worked with me, then emailed detailed pricing. Conicelli's price was about $500 cheaper than Kyle's FB price. Even though the lease buyout cost was specified on our 2019 lease, the fees were lower going with Conicelli. We made an appointment, met the salesman, completed the buyout at Conicelli. We also learned Conicelli receives calls regularly from unsatisfied FB customers looking for another local Hyundai dealership. We also have friends who recently had a very negative FB experience with body work scheduling and completion. We will never do business with Fred Beans again and do not recommend them for anyone! read more

I would not recommend taking your car to this dealer. The mechanic who worked on my Car, cut wires and threw out the module (after market)of my blind spot system. The service manager maintained that the mechanic did not cut wires and removed the blind spot module. But I have pictures that show the cut wires and harness, minus the module. Caveat Emptor I took my wife into Fred Beans Hyundai Saturday 12/28 because they were having and end of year blow out and our lease was coming to an end in a couple months. I worked in dealerships for a couple decades so I was comfortable and completely understood how it took nearly all day to accomplish the trade. My wife found a lease turn in and fell in love. I'm a Ford guy, she likes the Hyundais, go figure. It had been such a long day I told them not to even wash it because we just wanted to go and eat. It is now about 5 months later and not only did they never schedule or even call us to schedule the remote start we paid for, but they also decided not to completely pay off our lease. That's right, they payed the last few payments, but left a balance. When questioned, they cite a slip of paper that I signed agreeing to it, so I have no recourse. I am not that old, but I don't remember signing anything like that. I am sure I did. What I remember is the finance woman telling me that I wouldn't even have to make the first payment for 6 weeks. So while she was working I did the legwork. Kyle was interested in what I thought she liked and what I thought she needed. Do yourself a favor and go to another dealer. I can't think of a worse experience at a car dealership. I went here because the place seemed to have a good reputation. The service is horrendous and not worth the premium you pay for a named dealership. We went in, test-drove the car and people were falling all over each other to help us. When we decided to buy the car we were sat down for the usual Sales Manager closing and the guy definitely was dismayed when I told him I was paying cash and started negotiating the price. They tried to ice us by leaving us in the room while they checked various managers etc. I checked in on the crew time to time and they were hanging out in the Sales Manager's office. Finally I went into the office and just stood there until the manager got my paperwork ready. 6 hours of my Saturday gone and I WAS BUYING A CAR. Not that I expect to be treated with dignity at a car dealership, but to make customers wait for 6 hours when its clearly not busy is not the key to customer experience awards. Fast Forward 2 months, and I still haven't seen the title and registration. Apparently paperwork gets lost at Fred Beans quite a bit. Worst part is they charged something like $250 for the registration etc. A month later, I bought a Volvo from Keystone Volvo in Doylestown. Title, Tags and Registration for free and all delivered the same day along with my car. Will gladly buy another car at Keystone or any of the other dealerships before I go back to this place. Never again Fred Beans. I am thoroughly surprised. Wondering if Mr. Beans needs to go find out what's happening here. They connected me with a towing company but the tow company WOULD NOT take me as a passenger either home or somewhere safe. When your car breaks down on a road at 9pm at night and you're a middle aged woman being told that they'd be happy to care for YOUR CAR but you yourself are out of luck... And there you are roadside at night, makes you wonder about the company's character. 1. Would not let us take the car to a mechanic prior to purchasing. 2. They do not negotiate price. So it was the 3rd of July when I put the down payment on a used toyota they got from a trade in. They told me to come in on the 9th after the holiday because the car would not be ready until then. When I called them on my way to the appointment to let them know that I was going to take it to a mechanic due to a car fax not listing services and for my own personal relief -- they started playing games. Eventually I got a voicemail while I was driving to the place from the salesman saying "we can't allow you to take the car to the mechanic before doing the paperwork to buy it because this car is HOT HOT HOT and this has been DRAGGING ON" You guys told ME that the car wasn't ready and told me when to come in. So obviously I wouldn't buy a used car without taking it to a mechanic and I certainly was not going to bank on their "3 day guarantee" Eventually I had my father call the man back to break the deal because I was completely turned off by the place. The guy tried to negotiate with my dad to let them take it to the mechanic the next morning. No thanks, I want to do that part myself. I'm a young college graduate, this purchase is a big deal to me and I wanted to feel good and safe about my purchase. Unfortunately they were pushy and ridiculous. First thought, "you had plenty of time, couldn't somebody just bring the car to the dealership?" OK, maybe they were really busy and were rushing to make sure this car was spotless for us to see. Well, the car was there. Dirty. Filthy. Gooey steering wheel. Kids toys, socks, and spills everywhere. Makeup on compartment. Coins. Dirt......... Are you kidding me? "Oh, we can get it cleaned out for you"....So I have to come back another day, and drive the 30 minutes each way again on top of the time you made me waste? "So, what do you think?"....Me: " I'm not buying this car the way it looks. I don't even know if it has scratches, because it's covered in dirt". I just wasted this trip and half of my Saturday. We drove back to the dealership and sat down. He started doing paperwork for the price and invoice of the car. I said: "don't worry about that, we'll talk about the price when (if) I come back.". He said: "Oh, we don't negotiate. It's our policy. We already price our cars low enough". Some nerve! First, how did you even price a car, when you don't even know what it looks like or the condition?? Secondly, buddy, heaven is negotiable. 1 star only because 0 isn't an option. I took my truck in for an oil change and inspection and was told the entire appointment would take an hour to hour and a half at most. After an hour and 45 minutes, Joe the "service" manager came out and told me my tail lights were cracked and it would be $560 to replace them ($220 each, and $120 labor). I told him no way, and 45 minutes later (2 1/2 hours total), I left the dealership. I ordered the tail lights online for $55 each and replaced them myself in 15 minutes. Making the safe and reasonable assumptions that Fred Beans could buy the parts for the same or less, and their trained mechanic could install them in at least the same amount of time it took me (as a software engineer), that means Fred Beans marks up parts +300% and charges $480/hour for labor. read more

Rude rude rude!!!! I've dealt with the service center twice now. Originally I work with Joe and he was great (didn't work with him the seconds visit)but I had to take my car back a week later and from booking the appointment to dropping my car off everyone was extremely rude. I ended up telling them I'd be going to a different dealer and will never be returning. I ended up go to a different Hyundai dealer and it took the mechanic 5 mins to figure the problem out and order me a new radio. read more

I did a search on AutoTrader for a specific car (a low mileage manual transmission Veloster) and the best deal seemed to be at Fred Beans. I went there and the car was exactly as advertised. It drove like brand new, and they even put brand new tires and new brake pads/rotors on the car. The KBB value of this car was around $1200 more than they were asking, and I still was able to negotiate a lower price with them. The balance of the 10yr/100K mile warranty was transferred, and for a small amount more I upgraded that to being bumper-to-bumper. There's a lot of bad reviews about this dealership on here. But keep in mind, most people only seek out to review something if the experience was bad. This place sells 1000s of cars and you're looking at dozens of reviews. Give them a chance and use some sense when you shop. If you don't like the deal, don't buy it. But I'm happy with the way they treated ME. read more
