You would think that even when I said I plan to buy THE SAME CAR again, newer version of course and said I also have John Kennedy Mazda I can go to, something would have clicked and she'd have thought "I can get rid of a review that's really cost us money and likely sell him ANOTHER CAR by fixing two small things on the car". Bought a CX-5 from NorthPenn this week. this was my second transaction with them and it was perfect in every way. Reached out to my salesperson "Dan" when I saw the vehicle on their website. Despite it being his day off he responded quickly, worked out a great deal, including a trade in and got it done. I went in the next day for delivery, the vehicle was out front, all polished up and ready to go. Dan came in early to make the delivery fit my schedule. I have had a recent issue with the info/sound system in my CX-5. I received a card in the mail saying that Mazda were aware of issues, but when I brought the car in, they said they could not replicate the issue and didn't see errors in the system. So, bottom line, despite my being unable to rely on a system they know has issues, they refuse to replace or repair. I am taking my future business elsewhere. I recommend you do the same! read more

My Sales Rep, Chris Chiartas, was diligent in his follow up without being pushy or overbearing. He provided several options as my car lease was coming to an end. I got a fair deal on a brand new CX-5 and was in and out with the pricing info I wanted in about an hour. The next day, I picked up my car. While many dealerships are trying to go over MSRP, North Penn gave me a discount and took no for an answer when I passed on the extras. I have been a customer with the North Penn Mazda service department for many years. Making appointments is fast and easy by either calling or scheduling online. The service reps are courteous and knowledgeable. I especially like that rental cars are available while your car is being serviced. They send you text and email updates during your service which are nice. The waiting area is clean and modern. A body shop is available on site. I have used this service too. The staff make the process seamless which is much appreciated after you have been in an accident. Prices are comparable to other dealers. read more

We had a scheduled appointment to look at a used car, we live an hour away from north Penn Mazda so before leaving i called to make sure the car was still available and the salesman chris told us that the car was there and he would have it ready for when we would be arriving. TL; DR- This place is unreliable, and has cost me a many hours of time, frustration, and gas money. Everything about this simple repair has been terrible. 1. They sold me a car with a defective extending mirror. Ok, things happen, it's intermittent so maybe they just didn't notice. But it's dangerous when some of the time, I'm already on the highway before I realize my mirror didn't extend and I can't use it. 2. I drove it back to the dealer and showed the salesperson, who said bring it back when the shop's open for warrantee repair. Bear in mind, each trip back is more than 2 hours driving for me round trip. 3. I brought it back (2 hours), and they refused to repair it, even though their employee witnessed the problem, because it didn't replicate when the tech looked. They said the only way they'd repair it is if I had a video. 4. I took a video and brought it back (2 hours). They agreed to fix it. 5. I went to pick it up (2 hours). Once I got on the highway with the repaired vehicle, the mirror started rattling and vibrating. Turns out it's loose and not installed correctly. 6. I brought it back (30 extra minutes). Techs were already gone, so I need to make another 2 hour round trip later. It's also taken multiple days because first they didn't have a part on hand, then the part they got was broken. They were very friendly and fulfilled my needs. They treated my car like their own seems like, even though I didn't get the car from their dealership. I would go here to get my Mazda serviced again. If I could give these guys a NEGATIVE 10 I would. I contacted North Penn Mazda after getting approved for a loan by Capital One with all the terms already set, all I had to do is pick a car and have them prepare the documents by Capital One to sign and drive away. The reviews online looked real and I contacted their online rep Jaime on April 27, 2019, and told her I am out of state I like to buy a certain car and I am approved already and I like to register the car in my own state. After nearly 7 days and 40 emails back and forth between her and the other online specialist Saralynne where they took turns to email me, they finally passed me along to another salesperson named John, it was like I never communicated with them before. John started asking things that were not relevant to my deal, I even asked: "are you folks not in the same dealership?" Then John disappeared for 3 days and emailed me back after I had tried to get in touch with another salesperson. So I explained in detail to John in what I needed, we finalized the price, fees, and temporary tag information, then I verified it with Capital One and they said I can register the car myself in my state. After providing the document by Capital One to John, I asked him to send me a "purchase agreement" and NOT TO RUN ANY CREDIT ON ME until we have a signed agreement between the dealership and myself. Surprise surprise, they decided to run credit on me without the signed purchase agreement and that is when all the lies started pouring out and their finance guru Brent took over: LIE # 1 I asked John why did you run my credit when I told you not to," he said."it was a misunderstanding." LIE #2 They told me my rate is higher than what Capital One approved me for. I confirmed with Capital One it was a lie. LIE #3 Then the finance guru Brent told me that Capital One does not allow me to register my own Car, I confirmed with Capital One it was a lie. LIE #4 Then after that Lie is discovered and Capital One spoke to Brent he says, "the owner does not allow me to register my own car." LIE #5 Finally, when I agreed to have them register the car in NJ under my wife's name they said you can't do it because Capital One does not allow it, I confirmed with Capital One it was a lie. Since this is a purchase, I can register it to anyone I choose, like the other two cars I bought with Capital One for my children and registered it under their name. After all these lies and getting caught in them, they started playing the victim card and said to me "you are being hostile towards us", really? Did you want me to give you hug after all the lies and you guys attempting to cheat me? Thank god for email records. These guys don't have a once of decency in them, they took an easy sell and ruined it because of their greed, in the hopes of making few extra dollars, SHAME ON YOU. read more

I was a little hesitant at first to post a review in case the great service I received my first few times here were not the usual (especially after reviewing some of the reviews here). However, every time that I've been to NorthPenn (where I purchased my mazda6 in Jan) I've received great service from their staff. Two days ago I stopped by to get an electrical issue with my push/start button, and the service was amazing and simple! Dropped the car off, they gave me a loaner vehicle at no charge, and resolved the issue at no charge under my warranty. Their service/rental vehicle staff were great to talk to, and made you feel confident that your car would be take care of. Keep up the great work! read more

This regards service. Sales and service personnel were always very friendly and helpful. However, recently required replacement of a small exterior part. Dealer quoted $225 for the part and more than $200 for installation. took car to a top notch independent garage. Paid $95 for the part and $16 for installation. I classify this as abusive pricing. It seems to say we have no regard for fairness and believe our customers are too gullible to know better. Wont be returning there for service. read more

Just had a horrible experience. Found a car online that I was interested in. Contacted the manager and requested Tony to put a hold on the car gave him my name and told him we were on the way. He said he would hold the car. Well I got to the dealership someone else was looking at the car?? Why would they allow someone else to see the car when they were supposed to be holding it for me. As it turns out we waited and waited only to find out that they sold the car that they guaranteed me that they would hold. A bunch of liars. Maybe that's why used car salesman have a bad reputation. Hopefully the next dealership will be reputable. There was a time when you could trust in someone's word. I would suggest not trusting this dealership at their word. North Penn Mazda charges for emissions testing on cars that should be exempt. As written on the Pennsylvania dmv website, if you have owned your car for 1 year and it was driven less than 5000 miles, it is exempt from emissions. We have owned our car for 13.5 months and it was only driven about 3100 miles during that time. When we asked why we were charged for emissions, we were given some ridiculous story and were refused a refund on emissions. We will never go back to them for anything including the purchase of our next MX-5. read more

Was a major Mazda fan and still believe they make great vehicles. The service at North Penn is disappointing. I left with my vehicle who they said had a broken coil spring. They never tightened the lug nuts on one wheel so I drove home and damaged the threads. I called the next day and they said their technician did tighten them and they may have become loose when the car was lowered from the lift?!? What!?! I just wish people would admit mistakes and move on. Then I got the 'broken' coil spring after a $700 charge and there is no break, just some rust on the last ring. I can post photos if interested. I've had to bring my car back several times after having warranty work done here. At one point they accidentally ripped out radio antenna before giving me car back. I also noticed that my interior was scratched and marked up. Avoid. Careless/Hackjob work in the body shop/service center. Many other significantly better options in the area. read more

Great Experience. I was helping my nephew lease a new car. I called the day before and spoke to John about an end of year lease deal Mazda was running. He confirmed the monthly payment and cap cost reduction, taxes and extra miles charge. We showed up the next day at 3:35 pm, told John we were pressed for time and we would be fine with finalizing the deal and picking up the car the next day. We were out the door with the car, fully detailed and a full tank of gas in 55 minutes!!! I've bought and leased over 20 cars in my life and have never been out of a dealership in less than an hour with the car. Better yet, they didn't try to up-sell us on all the add on stuff like tire protection and minor ding and dent coverage. Great experience, I'll be heading back in about 5 months when my wife's lease is up to check out a CX5. read more

Took my sons car here for service and recall work. Shop was very professional and I like that the mechanics send you a video showing what work they're doing on the car and what they recommend. Only minor knock is I believe they used to wash your car when in for service. Now they give you a coupon for a local car wash. Not the same thing. It would be nice to pick up a clean car after spending $300-$400 with a dealer when servicing a car. They sell new cars there so I'm assuming they can wash cars on site. read more

How is it that a Pep Boys right down to he darn road from another Pep Boys can be so BAD ? !!!!!! You call and ask if they can do a service and they say , " YES " , bring it in . Once they have the car the skate around the fact that they don't have time to do the car in the first place . Make up your damn minds ! I will never ever bring my car to this shop again . Takes 10 mins to even get them on the phone and yet when asked questions , they still have no answer after they have claimed to have the car in for 4 hours . This place is a rip off and only thing they are good at is plugging a tire hole . Guarantee they will charge me hundreds more then what they quoted in the first place . STAY AWAY from this SHOP ! The vehicle leasing experience can be annoying for a variety of reasons, from the bad coffee to the smoke scented lounge, to pushy sales pitches and the sketchy manager who claims the deal is so good he's not making any money off it. Thankfully, North Penn Mazda is a group of true professionals who don't rely on these tactics for success. The contemporary car leasing experience with truecar, kbb, Edmunds etc., empowers the purchaser to a previously unseen level. I essentially called them with a quote, gave them a competitors price and asked what they could do. They didn't have the exact vehicle I wanted, so delivered my vehicle within 24 hrs from another dealer. They gave me a very competitive trade in price and streamlined the entire process. We just bought a new 2020 Mazda CX-5 from NP Mazda in the middle of Covid-19 and I have to say it was a remarkably pleasant virtual experience particularly under the circumstances. I was contacted initially by their internet sales person Jamie who made an initial offer that as attractive. I subsequently had another dealership offer a better price and when I went back to Jamie she managed to beat that price by enough to make me go with NP Mazda. Our assigned salesman Tim was extremely pleasant despite not even being able to provide the usual new car walk through. We had a slight communication/understanding glitch regarding Mazda navigation (an extra we bought) vs Apple Car Play navigation (already installed) and Tim promptly resolved the issue for us even though the issue was not down to him. I purchased my car at North Penn Mazda and have never had a plan with the service. However, today I was there for an oil change and it took 2 hours. The screen at the front desk showed appointments. Mine was 4pm. No one showed up for 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, or 3pm so I take it they were not busy. I arrived right on time and they got me taken care of quickly. I received an email and a text while I was there showing a review of my car and what I needed (or they thought I needed) done. That was at 4:34pm. Around 5pm an employee told me I needed my spark plugs changed at 75k miles but I didn't need it done just yet since I was just 76k. I told them no for now and she left saying they would finish up. Around 5:50pm I felt like I had waited forever and I went to the desk. They told me they were "just finishing up my paper work" and I'd be done soon. Right away they handed me the paperwork and I paid. I got outside and realized no one gave me my keys. Not one of the three employees could tell me that one of them left my keys on a different counter while I was signing. I came back in and one said "oh, your keys are over there" and pointed. Since it took 2 hours for an oil change and lackluster service, I may be forced to go to a different dealership! read more

I went to this dealership with my husband a few weeks ago. Honestly we were initially just browsing and wanted to get more information. When we walked into the dealership there were about six salesman standing near the door. They all looked at us and barely spoke as we entered. One of the salesmen finally looked at me and asked can I help you? It was very clear they were not used to assisting minorities. While I hate playing the race card it was more than obvious that this dealership was not interested in my business. The salesman that ended up helping us was very nonchalant and had a lack of interest in working with me. I was trying to trade in my older Mazda for a newer one. After taking my information I was abruptly told we'll get back to you on Monday since it's Saturday and you'll be sitting here for hours. Before my husband and I left, we watched a Caucasian family enter the dealership and receive nothing but warm welcomes from the staff. I guess when they saw this African-American couple come in they figured why bother. I received a voicemail message from the salesman on Monday stating that he could not find a bank willing to pay the amount I owed on my Mazda and provide me with a new loan for the car I wanted. Yes he left this entire message on my voicemail without really asking for a call back. So I called him and he reiterated the message that he left and quickly rushed me off the phone. I have never dealt with a dealership and car salesman not willing to work with you or at least try other options. It was almost as if they didn't want my business. Sad to say I'm almost positive that if I was of the 'majority" I wouldn't have received that response. I also am very sure that I am not the only person who has experienced racism from this family owned dealership. Just a side note for the owner and those reading...this is not a bitter post because I did not drive off with the car I wanted. It is a review to inform other customers (or potential customers) of the type of people they are doing business with. Yes it's 2016, but for some racism is just as prevalent as it was in the 1800's. You reap what you sow. They will learn one day not to treat people this way....I've already prayed about it. read more

I am a little late writing this review, but I felt it was important to share my experience with this dealership back in November of 2013. At first, I thought it was going to be an easy deal. I found a car I wanted, told them I was coming back the next day with my husband to buy it. We came in the next day, agreed to pay the asking price and then were told we needed to wait for the paperwork, they were busy, blah blah blah. Well, about three hours later, while sitting in the sales guy's office, the sales manager comes in and tells us that the car was erroneously listed for the wrong price and that they would "need to get another $850 on it to break even". I pretty much laughed in the guy's face. It is not our fault if you listed it wrong and you should honor the advertised price. After a few minutes of back and forth, they relented and we continued with our purchase. When the sale had been completed, they pulled up the car and went to hand us our keys. Turns out, they only had one key! Keys for these vehicles are about $250! I was already pissed from waiting around for so long, I didn't even argue about it. I dealt with the sales guy the entire next week who said he was trying to get the second key back from the original lessee. No dice. I let it go, but this was absolutely ridiculous considering we just paid them $20K or so for a vehicle and, being a dealership, they had the ability to cut and program a new key in about 15 minute's time. Now, here's where it gets even worse..... Roughly eight months after our purchase, I had the vehicle in to my mechanic to look at something. While there, he found two detailing rags STUFFED UNDER OUR ENGINE COVER!! They had been there since we purchased the car, and very well could have either caught our car on fire or caused a serious mechanical failure had they migrated into the belts below. At this point, I was absolutely fuming. There were then several days of back and forth phone calls between them & myself - mostly me calling them because they were not getting back to me timely and to my satisfaction. It certainly seemed as though they were going to try and take the position that my mechanic had put the rags there, which was definitely not the case (we'd only ever had one oil change at that point, and my mechanic does not use detailing rags!). I was also in his shop and watched him when he pulled them out from under the engine cover. Anyway, ultimately they admitted the rags were theirs and apologized - and the only thing they did to try and make amends was give us another key to our car (FINALLY, which they should have done without being prompted when we bought the car!)... and never mind the fact I had to drive an hour each way to go get the new key. I think it goes without saying that I would not recommend anyone do business with them. Their gross negligence could have killed us, including my son, who was just an infant at the time. read more

The customer service from the service department was horrendous. The blonde woman, I think her name is Amanda, is very rude and was initially complaining about her job when I dropped off my vehicle on Friday night. Her and Wil were rude to me when I told them I was not able to drop off the loaner car immediately as I had run out of town. I did not take the loaner car out of town, and didn't inform them that the car had gone out of town, but when Wil gave me a call back he started the conversation with, "I heard you took my loaner car out of town." I felt that it was unprofessional for them to talk to their customer in that manner and I gave them attitude in return. I never plan on returning to this dealership for even a bolt that my car may need. I wouldn't spend another penny here. As for the loaner car, everyone I told about this $150 fee if the car was not returned in perfect condition as I was informed told me that the fee was ridiculous and extreme. This was my first experience with a loaner car and it was horrible. On top of that, the loaner car was dirty and contained paperwork from other customers. The car was obviously not cleaned and the dealership staff had put other peoples information in danger by not cleaning the car out. On top of all of this, I received a phone call today asking me AGAIN to schedule my oil change that is not due yet. I declined to book this appointment when I picked up my car because I do not plan on coming back. I have never received a phone call regarding recommendations after I had already picked up my car and felt that I was called just because the dealership knows they gave me a complete bullshit experience. read more

First let me give a big thanks to Caitlin in Service for resolving an issue I spent a month trying to resolve. 10 minutes of her time, and I was on my way. I really want to like this dealership. It's local. They met my numbers when I purchased my car, with no hassle. But if they are at all interested in repeat business, they've got work to do. They are quite poor at responding to customer inquiries. Shortly after I bought my car, I left a message with the salesman asking for the Carfax report I never received. He didn't return my call. I let it go, as it was a minor request. But I thought it was foolish not to do everything possible to satisfy a potentially repeat customer. About 5 months later I realized there were no rear head rests in my car (I'd bought it off-lease). Setting aside the fact that a dealer sold a car that was missing parts, it took me a month to get the headrests. I went to the dealership on June 13th to explain the situation. I was told the Used Car Manager was not in, but that a message would be left for him to call me. He never did. On June 21st my husband called the Used Car Manager, and was told the parts would be ordered and should arrive in a couple of days. I never heard from them. On June 29th I called to inquire about the status of the parts. I was told they should be in by July 7th, and I'd receive a phone call. I did not. On July 9th, I went to the dealership. I explained my situation to Caitlin in Service, and she explained that the parts were backordered. She had someone pull the headrests out of another car on the lot, and place them in my car. Shouldn't that have been the course of action when I initially went to the dealership complaining of missing parts? I love my Mazda, and will likely buy another. But I honestly don't know that I'd buy from this dealer again. They certainly haven't made me feel like a valued customer. Instead, they seemed to have lost interest once the sale was made. North Penn Mazda would benefit from significant improvement in communication and customer service. They might consider a trip to Peruzzi Toyota. Their staff is the best I've experienced with regard to customer service. read more

Ordered the 5 year tire and rim coverage for my 2014 Mazda6, cost $1,000. The rim replacement is outsourced to a non affiliated vendor so there's no connection to Mazda and they push you off when asking about replacing the rims. I had a few tires replaced after hitting pot holes but when I tired to extend my coverage I was denied. It was a few weeks after my coverage ended and I never received any notices that I could extend the coverage. North Penn Mazda gave me a runaround and didn't allow me to extend my coverage.. for this my family and I will not be going back here for any service. This leaves a bitter taste in my mouth after we've been recurring customers since 2007. We will be going to John Kennedy Mazda from now on and so will all my referrals unless North Penn makes it right and allows me to purchase the tire and rim coverage extension for my car. There's more I could say about this place but really all I want is to be able to purchase more services in order to move my rating to 5 star. read more
