Some examples of what they did to help me included having the car cleaned before I arrived, holding the car for me for over a week, helping me find the car that fit my specific criteria, and accommodating me paying with both a check and cash. Two years ago I had the pleasure of working with Matt T. on a Jetta lease for my daughter. Matt made the process quick and easy and with no pressure, especially since he knew we needed the car ASAP. I kept in touch with Matt as I've been looking to upgrade from the GTI and I finally pulled the trigger on my new Golf. Matt understood I was dead set on the particulars and helped locate the car and keep it in mint condition until I could get back to pick it up after a trip. While my experience may have been limited - i found the car online and made the purchase the next day over the phone - I have only glowing things to say about the salesman, Antonio Miller who guided me through the process. He was very courteous, knowledgeable, and accommodating to my needs as a long distance buyer. When I traveled to pick up the car, I flew into the Philadelphia airport, and Antonio arranged for me to be picked up by the dealer's courtesy driver. This was hugely convenient as the dealership was over an hour from the airport. When I got to the dealership, Antonio had all the paperwork ready for me - and after that he spent a lot of time going over the many advanced features of the car. He never rushed me. Antonio is AWESOME! We just bought our 3rd car from him within 3 years (my husband, my daughter and myself) and it is smooth sailing each time. He's not pushy or aggressive. This last time we came twice within one week to try several different options and he never tried to sell us in one direction or another. He always gives us an honest opinion and answers any questions we have. If we email him we get an immediate response. He even brought us a couple of Mazdas from next door to try as well. We went with the new ID4 and he gave us a thorough run down of everything the car can do (which he did with our other cars, but we had a lot more questions this time). We went to many other dealers this year just to see what our options were, it was honestly such a hassle with other salesmen/women. Customer service is non~existent these days but we are always Antonio's number 1 priority when we go there. Always a pleasure! What started out as what I thought was a great experience, quickly went bad. Part of it is my fault. I should have done more research. But I told the new salesman everything I wanted and was told many times that I "would need to buy an Atlas if you want that". I realized a few weeks later that was not true. The options I wanted WERE in a tiguan, just in the next trim. Why didn't they tell me that? When I called regarding this, I was told my car depreciated and I would have to put more money down and payments go up OR pay a lot more. The general sales manager did not even return my call. But another dealer (Fred Beans VW), who didn't know me, paid my car off in full AND gave me a great deal. All over the phone. North Penn, you lost a great customer! Bought a car from here a few years back, when I purchased it, one of the keys said "did not belong to this vehicle" I thought nothing of it. When I asked them to replace it. The salesperson gave me a hard time, suggesting I go to dealer and have the key reprogrammed at my expense. Eventually the car ends up breaking down due to electronic failure. I attempted to trade it in, the car fax report showed the odometer had been rolled back. I presented this information to North Penn, after some back and forth they reluctantly appeared to agree to come to some sort of resolution. This was a week or so ago. I sent two final emails, got no response. DO NOT purchase a vehicle here, I have evidence my vehicle was tampered with. They could not provide any information proving otherwise. The owner agreed through Email correspondence, that the odometer appears to have been rolled back. I have all the receipts of every convo. I will be sharing to every social platform shortly. DO NOT purchase a vehicle here. If you catch it, they will not be responsible or accountable. Here is the car fax I have, prior to the trade in and the updated one. Afterwards carfax wipes the data prior to 2013 showing the potential roll back, but the car still visits that same service center, even on the updated car fax. So from 2011-2013, the car has no registered emissions inspections. Unless it actually did go to that service center and the data was wiped intentionally. read more

Went in to North Penn VW twice to buy cars two months ago. The salesman was very self absorbed and spoke condescendingly. I offered 1K less on a GTI and he gave me a lecture of how superior VW's were. He wasn't willing to negotiate on cars I wanted and kept referring me to older models with more miles, while flaunting his large number of active customers. I made him an offer open to negotiation and he called it insulting (the car wasn't even impressive). My fiance and I were both very offended and left immediately, both times. We ended up buying a RX at Thompson Lexus and a Z at 309 Nissan, both very positive experiences. Don't think I'll ever go back to this dealer again and have advised many friends and family members to avoid it as well. read more

Do not let this place touch your car. They have proven to be below-average mechanics in my extensive experience with them. Routinely messes things up on my car. Edit: their prices are sort of competitive for the area, but thats because the area collectively rips off consumers. Do yourself a favor and call some dealerships down in the D.C. area. In May 2014, I purchased a used VW Passat from North Penn VW. I worked with Greg Holland, who was very professional and helpful. I bought the car with no warranty from the dealer, since the service records showed that it had been treated very well. I ran into some trouble soon after the purchase, and after some phone calls and emails, took the vehicle back in for service. The trouble turned out to be very significant. Even though I had purchased the car with no warranty, North Penn VW paid for a significant portion of the cost and did great work on the vehicle. They were unaware of the issues the car had and made it right when they found out. Derek Fitchett was very helpful and apologetic after learning about the situation. Finally, their service comes with a free car wash, and their detailer does a fantastic job. Bill Sansom is a great guy to work with in the service department. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. read more

The paperwork for the registration has my name spelled wrong. I've been waiting over two days for the supposed return phone call first thing Monday morning. Just horrible!!!! Due to continued let down in the service department with VW with my now SECOND 2015 TDI JETTA . I've decided to take the time and write a review about my multiple disappointing experiences in hopes to save the next person the headache. After multiple trips over a short few months for the same problem over and over and over again. The issue was the car would leave me stranded here and there and would not turn over/ start. Towing bill after towing bill $$$, Loaner car at $35/ day ( multiple days i had to pay for until vw even looked at it ) , and diagnostic fees over and over. VERY TIRING HONESLTY!! I was driving an hour and half each way to work daily , only wondering when my car ( ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AT THIS POINT ) was going to let me down AGAIN !!! each time North penn VW would tell me they found nothing wrong "after looking the car over from top to bottom" , was given the " no codes were thrown" famous VW phrase each time , signed the paperwork and paid the few hundred dollar bill in "diagnostic fees " and took my continuously unreliable car only expecting to be back again at the dealer soon for the same problem . The 4th and last dissatisfied trip to vw dealer. my father decided to lift the hood and take a look himself. Now note ; hes very mechanically inclined, but not familiar with all the new technology on these vehicles as far as software and the DEF systems goes. That being said , he lifts the hood , takes off the plastic engine cover and finds that a mouse had decided to build its nest in there - looking further ...a few moments later noticing a very small group of wires had been chewed through by this mouse that made my engine bay its temporary home. Now , my question , why was something that cost me hundred and hundreds of dollars in diagnostic fees not found by a volkswagon tech within a trip or two ???? beings it took my father a total of about 7 minutes to find the issue causing my constant " no start " issue. With no other choice but to do a trade- in with this unreliable vehicle , I got talked into another VW now the reason I gave VW a second chance is because I really loved that car , great mileage , especially when your putting on 20k or so a year like myself , but the mileage was a price to pay for all I had to go through in this situation. Very stressful. Corporate VW got involved and did absolutely nothing for me as far as the car goes . they simply went by the dealership stating that nothing was found and there day went on , meanwhile I was left to scramble to find a reliable vehicle because the one I had was a complete nightmare !!! NOT A WAY TO TREAT CUSTOMER especially after being a loyal customer and sticking with VW after all the emission scandal came about and thousands of VW customers were offered more than they even paid for the car to do the buyback program , instead I chose to keep the car I thought was amazing until all this happened only months after signing the paperwork to OPT OUT of the buyback program!! Good and caring people in the service dept. This is the 8th time in 1 month (yes, you read that correctly), that my car has been in because of the SAME problem. I am one of the unlucky ones who bought a VW TDI. Though my vehicle is absolutely worthless thanks to VW, it is also in the garage more than on the road. I have complained to VW but with the scandal, it seems they just stopped caring due to the lack of responsibility. my wife and I Bought a certified used Jetta TDI from this Dealer less then 6 months ago. In the first month the Automatic transmission stalled. brought it back to the dealer with the first oil change and was told that the transmission is fine. I am ok with that answer if they found nothing. drove it some more for another 2 months and started to feel a jumping sensation from the transmission. so i called the dealer to see what going on. at that same time the Moon roof broke too... so at this point i brought that car back for the second time for repairs in a period of 5 months. at this point we are not happy with this car and feel that they sold us a bad car. so we tried to work something out with the Manager Derick (the owners son) at first he was defensive then said i got a deal for you!! after looking into this so called deal my wife and i realized we are actually being taken for a ride.. my wife came in alone to ask some questions and to really hear how this deal was broken up and Derick told my wife he was insulted and did not want to sell us a car! my wife had to leave with the 2 kids as she felt insulted and crying. After she called me to tell me what happen she said to me how come i can't have a conversation with this guy, i felt like i was talked down to. I came just pick up my car from service. they reassured me that the car is fixed. well got into my car now i have stains on the headliner from the repair to the moon roof and to find out the transmission is still not fixed.. so please take in this experience and do your homework before coming to this dealer.. read more

Avoid this dealership. They are liars. Every year when I get my car inspected they want to change something. So last year, I had my car inspected in NY state (much cheaper than PA, $25) for comparison. In NY, I was told the car was in perfect shape. 1 week later at N. Penn VW, I was told that my brakes were in very bad shape. They brought me these shredded brake pads that they claimed were mine; and said that if I did not get the new brakes I could not pass PA state inspection. I told them that I had the car inspect in NY and their response was, "we dont know what NY requires for their inspection." Really? You don't think NY state requires working brakes?!! This past year my brother had a similar interaction with them. They advised him that he needed new front brakes when he was there only for an oil change. He said to them, "but you guys changed the brakes 3 mos ago; please check your records." They came back with an apology saying they didn't realize he had changed his brakes. So, did they not realize the brakes were fine and were just trying to make a payoff? They are deceptive. read more
