I was not going to write a review after my experience at Bergey's Ford (ambler) location, but I feel compelled to do so. I don't usually write reviews but I just have to on this topic.
My car was recently serviced at Bergey's in Ambler. I took my car in because the engine light went on. It turns out that they had to replace a whole new engine. That news made me very upset and disappointed, due to the fact I've only had my car for two years. It has me worried now that something else could go wrong and that I'm driving a "lemon". I get into my car 10 days later after the new engine, which by the way I do appreciate them working hard to get a new engine in the car, they did a great job. 3 days in, I'm driving on the turnpike and out of nowhere there is this loud dragging noise and it turns out the whole plastic underbody of my car came off. So this huge plastic piece of my car is dragging on the road, people were honking, but luckily I was okay. I was so disturbed to find out that the service people used old, already used clips. I know this because my husband works in the car business, and he looked under my car to see why this happened.
So I emailed one of the service providers that works there, and told him I am not happy with lease and would like to opt out of my lease early due to everything and my bad experience with my car. I set up a day and time to meet with him in the hopes he could get me into a new car. He told me right off the bat that "we"ll do everything we can to help you", and he "could break even with me", and put me into a new car that day without putting any money down. After making me think that I was getting into a new car, and being the happy customer I was he went on to tell me that I would have to put nearly $1,000 down today and my car payment every month would go up $150.00 more. I understand, that is how the business works, and after all, he was just doping his job, BUT don't go and make a promise and make me feel like I was going to get a fair trade and then give me that news. Not to mention, the car was the same exact model as my current one, just two years newer. I won't be back at this particular dealership in the future because I simply did not have a good experience. This particular service provider also gave me bad vibe as soon as I sat down to introduce myself. He made me feel like I was being an inconvenience to him the whole time I was there.
The whole reason I went to the dealership today is to get my situation with my car sorted out. I shouldn't feel like I'm driving around in a lemon, I work really hard, and pay a lot of money for my car, that I want to feel proud of. This should have never happened with my car that is only two years old! ANYONE would agree that the dealership should be more than willing to let me opt out of my lease early, and put me into the same car, just newer without having to pay anything! read more
