I came to J's Auto Service for a routine state inspection and emissions check. Everything was fine other than a puncture in one of my tires and my brake lights being out. When I picked up my vehicle the odometer was up an additional 5 miles even though their invoice states there was no change in mileage. (Miles in 158,162, actual miles out 158,167 ( see attached photos)). This was odd but I didn't think anything of it since a road test is usually preformed. Fast forward to when I got the tire replaced at their shop/to get my other sticker for inspection. I picked it up after work and was a little surprised it costed $52.86 ($63.11 - $10.25 (state safety sticker)) for ONE tire. I started driving and realized my dashcam was unplugged. I contacted the shop and asked why this happened. I spoke with Christine who told me, "All we did was install your tire and check your brake lights". I go home and review the footage. I come to find out that they did indeed unplug my dash cam. Not cool. I also reviewed the footage from the day of my inspection. Prior to my vehicle ever being inspected, Jamie and Christine used my vehicle to pick up another customers car! They came back, inspected my vehicle and then conducted a road test. I paid for a state inspection/emissions test, not for them to use my car for their business. I will not be giving them my business after this and will not recommend them to anyone.

However once I got there (I don't want to say once they saw I was black) but when I got there in person all of a sudden they can't mount a tire. I was told they only replace tire sets (4 at a time), and they only deal with midgrade to high end tire brands. Then I was rudely told that if I cant afford 4 high end tires ($1600) at this time I should sell my car, what kind of shxt is that? I then asked if they would be able to repair a spare tire I had to at least get home, but nope they would not help me at all. No trying to offer any sort of solution to help with my situation. I don't want to call anyone or accuse someone of something they are not but I feel things got very different from my faceless phone call to the meeting in person. They were purposefully being extremely unhelpful once we met and they saw who they were dealing with. So to all my people of color take this for what it is worth. He was very responsive and made it easy for us to connect using location pinning services. He was super friendly and kind and took great care with my car. He communicated everything clearly including additional costs involved. I rode with him in the truck to the tire store and he was friendly and chatty and I appreciated that . He was incredibly kind, helpful, and caring throughout the entire experience. You don't always expect this level of service and compassion when you're far from home, especially on a holiday weekend. I have used Carsense for service work for quite a few years. In recent years I have had several bad…read moreexperiences. In one case they changed spark plugs and left old plug in the engine compartment. In another they changed front brakes and did not clean brake dust from the caliper, and did not replace cracked rubber boots on guide pins. In the mosr recent service they changed a valve cover gasket and created a massive oil leak that coated everthing with oil. They repaired the problem, but this cost me 4 hours of time. Also, they did not do a very good job of cleaning the oil from the engine compartment. Their mechanics are either inexperienced or are working too fast.
