If buying a car is needlessly difficult, should you expect that having your vehicle serviced be painless, and straight-forward, especially at a luxury car dealership? NOT ALL DEALERSHIPS OF THE SAME BRAND ARE THE SAME. I'm familiar with Thompson, having leased another luxury brand from them for close to a decade. Same ownership, different management. Big difference. Huge. Since the service department opens at 7:30am, and I had a scheduled appointment for first thing on Monday morning, when nearly six (6) hours passed, and I never received a call with an update, I decided to call. This was my 1st time at Thompson Lexus Willow Grove's Service Department, and the 1st service on my Certified Pre-Owned Lexus. I was assigned a service member, and I couldn't have had a worse hand dealt to me. Patrick Applegate. Apathetic. Lexus makes phenomenal and reliable vehicles, and the brand, as well as its corporate team in the US are exceptional. So, when I asked Pat the cost to fix the molding around and under the window, and if it's something Lexus would cover, his response was "unlikely since the mechanic said it looks like someone tried breaking into your car." I asked if he could speak with his manager, and Lexus, and he stated he'd call back, which he did. He stated his dealership wouldn't cover the cost. He asked if I was going to move forward with the repair. I stated that,"I'm going to contact the GM where I bought the vehicle, in case Lexus won't cover it", he stated that he'd order the parts, regardless. The estimate was just under $664, with $497.94 being the total for two parts, and $165.95 for labor. I contacted the GM of the Lexus dealership in Englewood, NJ. His response, "if Lexus won't cover it in good will, we'll pay for the repair". Once again, different dealership, different leadership, different business acumen, and different mindset. Tuesday morning, I never received a call from anyone at Thompson Lexus. By 12:31pm EST, I called, and was informed Pat wasn't in. I was connected to Matthew Buglak. Matt is personable, empathetic, and immediately took ownership of assisting me. The manager of the service and parts department, Mark Ambolino, was on vacation. No one had called Lexus corporate. The mechanic was out. There was no system in place so anyone would've followed through for Pat. Matt had me picked up, and brought to the dealership, to get a loaner vehicle. Mr. Buglak is relatable, professional, organized, empathetic, and cordial. All the paperwork was ready for my signature, and the vehicle was waiting and clean. At 8:10am EST on Wednesday, Pat called and told me his manager called Lexus, and the repair wouldn't be covered. Every question or statement I made was followed by one word from Pat, "ok". His lack of energy, care, concern, and disinterest were extremely obvious. Also, how did he already have a response from Lexus' corporate offices by the time he called me? I got off the phone and contacted Matt, to request that he be my service advisor. Thereafter, I called Lexus, who agreed to pay for the repair. I conveyed that Thompson had quoted me 70% over Lexus MSRP for the B-Pillar Trim, and 43% over MSRP for the Door Run. When the loaner was picked up by a driver, and my car was returned, I immediately noticed that the car was NEVER washed nor vacuumed. That's Thompson Lexus of Willow Grove. No indication on the invoice of what was replaced or filled with the maintenance, and the space when the next maintenance is due was left blank. They are a poorly managed dealership with bad communication, and many lazy employees. They didn't put in effort to deliver for me with Lexus corporate; that was my relentlessness. Again, Matt Buglak is a phenomenal guy. If you must get service done at Thompson Lexus of Willow Grove, because it is your only option, request Matt- the person who should be elevated to manage the service and parts departments, as well as hire, train, retrain, or let go of complacent, neglectful, and/or indifferent employees who don't bode well for the superior Lexus brand. read more

Bad experience especially for being a Lexus "luxury brand". Drive the extra few miles and go to another dealership. I have a 2025 Lexus with only 1700 miles, owned it coming up on one year, so the car doesn't get driven much at all. I've needed to jump the start the car MULTIPLE times before I took the time and went the dealer for a battery replacement. There were stored DTC's for battery if they scanned the car as well. The drive to this dealer is about 35 mins and I used the car for some errands as well that day prior, so it did alot of driving before arriving day of (battery got a nice charge from all the driving). They tested the battery and after sitting there for right under 2 hours I get told they are NOT replacing the battery and I need to wait for it to die again, waste my time and tow it there. The best part is yet to come I get charged $42 for a battery test which is literally free at any other brand dealers, auto zones, pep boys wherever pretty much. 3rd new Lexus and very unhappy customer. read more

My circumstances for the purchase of a Nissan Maxima wasn't exactly a thrilling one. We managed to deploy our airbags and had to find a replacement asap. However, the process with moving forward with our replacement at this dealership was painless. See a car you want? Make a request online. The answer we received was the same day I believe. While there was a small delay with our appointment, the facility is gorgeous, so grab a coffee, chose a comfortable chair with or without seating, and have some coffee or grab a bottle of water. And how about them bathrooms? Every single one appeared to be private and handicap accessible, like entire rooms within the restroom. The paperwork process we went through here was the only impressive paperwork process I've seen in my life. There was a huge table screen for viewing documents and signing. I'm pretty sure you can't place a mug of coffee on it, but that's impressive stuff. All info is on a usb drive and given to you after signing. Everything is delivered by folks who look and sound like they went to finishing school and ran through a magical polishing machine before coming to work. We didn't buy a Lexus and we didn't need to bother with financing, and the car we purchased would've easily been moved off the lot the next day or week, but they certainly treated us like their other high-end customers. After a super efficient process, congrats and a handshake, we were presented with our immaculate three-year used vehicle. Imagine all of those positive vibes after a massive personal screw up. I had my Lexus serviced here because I did not care for the dealership where I bought it. And I'm glad that I came here. Everything was straight forward and I was treated very kindly. I felt like the service person listened to what I wanted and they kept me completely up to date while I waited for my car. At the end they gave a full explanation of the services and what they saw with my vehicle. And then even followed up after to make sure I was completely satisfied. When we moved to this area, we took our Lexus ES350 for a door actuator issue. We even told them which actuator it was b/c that happened multiple times with this car. They said they had the parts, and we scheduled an appointment and went in. At the end of that day, they said they didn't have the part so we had to pick up the car and went back another day. The next visit was to take the car for a state inspection. Again, after a long day, the car was not ready. Again, we had to reschedule. I'm now in the market for a new sedan. I've been researching for a new car that is about $50k to $100k and narrowed down to the Acura TLX and Lexus IS350 or IS500. I don't want a BMW or MB. Actually checked out the Maserati but didn't like the quality issues they have. I first visited the Acura dealer in Montgomeryville. Immediately, someone greeted me, showed me the car, answered the questions I had, left me with the key, and then left me alone so I could check the car in detail. I then visited this Lexis Willow Grove location. I waited and waited and waited. No one came by. The showroom was full of people but no one stopped by to say hi. They had only 3 cars on the floor, 2 ES350's and an IS500. I am not interested in another ES350. I may consider the IS500 but the V8 may be an overkill. I wanted to check out the IS350 F Sports. So I went out to the parking lot but couldn't find an IS350. I walked back inside the showroom. Again, no one came by. I timed 5 additional minutes and was completely ignored. I walked out and vowed to not come back. My spouse will be getting a new car soon after I get mine, so now Lexus just lost the sales of 2 cars. I am going to get the Acura TLX. read more

From start to finish the experience at Thompson was impeccable at this location. Maria greeted us upon our arrival and the entire experience with her was 100% pressure free. She guided us along the process and addressed our concerns. She was great at communicating to us daily until we picked up our daughter's car today. She respected our time and was efficient and trustworthy. Additionally, the manager and finance specialist were both professional and friendly. We will highly recommend this dealership to our friends and family. My only regret is that we are in Quakertown and this dealership is in Willow Grove. It was a bit of a hike but worth it! read more

The very first time I visited this dealership, I was blown away. Upon entry to the service and parts department, especially in the morning, you are greeted with the sweet smell of freshly baked chocolate chips cookies. whatever you do don't bring your car to thomp Willow grove Lexus for a repair. they had my car for 2 months trying to diagnose the problem. they told me that it was my transMission Control module and that i needed a new one. they quoted me a part price of $1600. i went on their website and the part was only $1200 so the service rep lied about the price. long story short I was able to find the part at prestige Lexus for $900 so I ordered it. I took the part to the shop and a few days later they called me to say that I didn't need that part and it's a transmission issue and they don't do transmission repairs. if you don't do transmission repairs then why would you tell me to buy a transmission control module for you to put on my car and they opened the package. this place is horrible. Find another repair shop. These people don't know what they are doing. read more

This was my first time a Lexus dealership outside of my home state. I came here to get a diagnosis on my 2004 Lexus IS 300 because I kept hearing this weird sound when I turned the steering wheel. It was definitely a nicely designed dealership. When you first drive in through the service department they had an automatic garage that opened and is located inside receptionist. It was probably built that way to keep out from the cold temperatures and snow. Then they had a nice friendly staff that helped you with what you needed service one. They lead me to the waiting area where they had beautiful beige color furniture and even had a TV for some entertainment. I enjoyed the snack and refreshment area where they had free water bottles, cookies, baked goods, and bottles of juice for the waiting customers. I also liked that they had a separate TV monitor that tells you the order of names who are getting their car done for service and it tells you the progress of it. After an hour of waiting, they called me over and told me what was wrong with my car. The only thing I didn't like was the price. Knowing that it is Lexus they over charge on the service department even though my vehicle was the older model. Definitely an interesting for my first time being here. read more

The used car was great and the sales transaction went smoothly - aside from the oversell of unnecessary insurance. They could not complete the titling with the state and did not perform the due diligence required to identify and solve the issue. They finally sent the paperwork to me so I could do the titling with DMV. The paperwork was still incorrect so I couldn't get the title. Had to go back to them one more time to get corrected paperwork but had to identify the problem and the solution. Car was good. Sales was good. Back office operations are a disaster. Took us 12+ weeks to get plates + title and a lot of effort own our part. Keep your eyes wide open. read more

I live in the Philadelphia area but purchased my car in Northern NJ so I needed a dealership for service. I originally shopped for a car at their Doylestown location, and the service manager in Doylestown was nice enough to reach out about still coming there for service. Since it's the same group, I made the mistake of going to Willow Grove for service. I arrived in the garage, and a young girl came out to check me in. She gave me a ticket, told me it would be 90 minutes and told me to sit down in the waiting room. After 90 minutes, I checked in at the desk. They looked up my car and looked confused. I pulled out my number, and they looked at me like "oh". I then asked, please don't tell me no one worked on my car because I didn't turn in this number? They said that was the case, and I explained what happened and no one cared. There was no offer of a loaner, or offer to quickly work on my car. I said I had to leave, and they asked if I wanted to reschedule. I said this was unbelievable and they pretty much looked at me like too bad for you. They somehow quickly found my car when I wanted to leave. The manager of course was on vacation. I left a voice mail for the manager who never returned my call until he was instructed to by his GM. When he called two weeks later, he said that he has worked with the girl for years, and that's not what she would have said. Apparently I am deaf now. There was a lip service I am being forced to apologize in there somewhere, but you can imagine how genuine it was. I expect a higher level of service from Lexus. I ended up going to Thompson Lexus in Willow Grove and I have never had better customer service. Nghia Trung, had my car out and ready for me as soon as I got there to test drive. I knew I had to have it there and then but I needed till the next day. I was able to hold it with a down payment and he was ready for me today as soon as I got there. He was very patient and great the work with. He made sure I have my financing straight before I finalized the purchase! Excellent experience, this is the reason why I am a return Thompson customer. I traded in my 2013 BMW, purchased at Thompson for a 2016 Lexus IS. After tons of online research, I had originally come into the dealership looking for a CPO ES350. Upon looking at the style of the car I knew it wasn't for me as I prefer something more compact and sportier. My husband then spotted an IS300 that was a recent lease return. I drove it and loved it. It was the only car I test drove (when you know you know) despite looking at a few cars which were similar. Lexus roadside assistance came out and put my spare tire on. My girlfriend and I had a very pleasurable experience purchasing a new Lexus ES 350 at Thompson Lexus of Willow Grove. My three year lease of a 2015 ES was ending soon and we stopped by to ask questions about leasing a new Lexus. I am a Florida resident and wanted to know about leasing in Pennsylvania, but registering in Florida and also to see what the 2018 ES looked like. We arrived on a slow Friday morning and was greeted by salesman Gary Koch. Low key and pleasant, Gary answered all our questions and offered to show us a 2017 ES of our choice. An end-of-the-year rebate would lower my lease payment and I would still get all of the bells and whistles of a 2018. Not expecting to purchase when we walked in, we went home to think about the deal. After negotiating over the phone Gary and I came to an agreement and we returned on Monday to lease my new car. All of the other staff we dealt with, Sales Manager, Vehicle Delivery Specialist, Business Manager and service personnel, were extremely courteous and pleasant and made what is usually a stressful purchase very easy. The dealership is only six months at this location. A modern facility, the service area is enclosed so that in inclement weather you can drive in and walk into the waiting area without being exposed to the weather. I don't understand the low reviews. I've had my IS for a little over a year, been in for 6 and 12 month services, plus I had some cosmetic work done, both in and out of warranty. The experience has always been extremely pleasant. Russell has become a personal favorite at the service desk. He treats me like an old friend and we can talk for quite a while. Everyone I've met has treated me with the utmost respect. The salesman, Leslie, who sold me my car was laid back and honest, and made the buying experience enjoyable. I have been a customer of Thompson lexus for about a year or more. I normally just get oil changes and little minor stuff. Front Brakes and rotors cost me over $600 here. But i let them do it because my car had a noise that would not go away. That didnt solve the problem. It was my rear rotors but ok. No biggie. Then i noticed everytime i go they offer to do something that i dont need done. Ok whatever. I finally had an issue with my front end making weird sounds. They said it was my axle. They said it had been an aftermarket part put on and was loose. I finally couldnt stand the sound anymore so i asked them to just change the axle. Almost $1500. I said no im not doing it then i said u know what go ahead. They then said i need a diagnostic to be sure. Ok. $150. Cool. Ok now its my axle and my right hub. Cool. My warranty company may cover it. They say its gonna be an issue with the warranty company. Warranty company ends up paying for hub but said the axle was aftermarket.(because the dealership told them that). Gets the car back i have the same issue but worse. Takes it back. Now its my left hub but they never said that the first time. So im not paying. It shouldve been determined during diagnostic. They ends up fixing it somehow. Ok great. Still same problem. Same sound. Warranty company already paid out about $2000 and i paid maybe $1600. Now they claim its my strut. They say my strut is possibly a used strut. Of course its used if the car is 5 years old. No thanks. Im not getting it done. Forget it. Goes for an oil change and they ask do i want my headlights changed. No why would I? They were fine last night. But now both headlights are out. Then they wanna charge me $65 each. No thanks. It takes every bit of 10 seconds to change each bulb and $30 for the bulbs that they blew out. They never have to worry about me giving any more money or coming back there. Be careful when purchasing a vehicle form there. They lie and you have no idea whose words to believe. There are so many run arounds its ridiculous.It seems like the sales person and the finance person are not properly communicating with one another. My sales guy told me that they would be running my credit for a certain amount excluding taxes but based on the conversation with the finance guy it looks like they ran my credit for the total amount including the taxes. one day they're requiring me to put one amount down the next day its double that amount. I regret ever coming here; Also, my first point of contact made it seem as if i was going to be dealing with her for the purchase of my vehicle, that was a lie. When i got there i was introduced to someone else, don't believe any promises that your SALES PERSON makes because they're lying. If you already know what car you want and don't want the hassle of dealing with so many people just ask for the finance guy instead. TIP: Its better to get your own personal loan approved for a car than have the dealership run your credit, your credit will take a hit because every bank they deal with runs your credit. read more

I came across this dealership when searching on cars.com. I did not buy a Lexus here - I bought a pre-owned Nissan - but every single person here treated me with the utmost respect and courtesy. The dealership is seconds off of the Turnpike, super convenient. It's also GORGEOUS, more like a five star hotel lobby than a car dealership. Every employee that walked by said "hi" and offered me something from the open kitchen area. My first contact there was Nichole, who was extremely pleasant and interested in helping me. She connected me with my sales consultant, Nghia, who was also very pleasant and easy-going. He gave me a great history lesson on Thompson during our test drive, as well as many examples of how great Thompson is to its employees.
