Kyryl and Polina are amazing. We came in for an introductory lesson and loved it. We've been going for two months now.

Sexually assaulted by Kyryl at Fred Astaire. My wife and I scheduled an intro session at the Arcadia Studio last night. Soon after arriving and meeting Kyryl (one of our dance instructors) we notice the vibe is off. He is rude and slurring his words. We continue on with the tour and meet Andre (our second instructor) who was perfectly polite and professional. After some discussion regarding our upcoming event and layout, we start the class. Both my wife and I could smell alcohol on Kyryl's breath. He continued to be rude. Kyryl was partnered with my wife and I was with Andre. A few minutes into the actual class I see Kyryl slap my wife's butt - hard. I was in shock and could not believe this was happening. I asked to dance with my wife because I didn't want Kyryl touching her or close to her anymore. We maintain some semblance of calm and don't address the inappropriateness head on - my wife and I were both in shock. Just a few minutes later Kyryl slaps me the same way. At that moment, my wife exclaims: "that is not okay, consent matters, please stop." To be clear, we wanted to choreograph a dance to a ballad - there was no explicit moves requested. We left shortly thereafter. Although Andre didn't do anything inappropriate, he stood by and watched as his colleague violated us. This is not okay; it's harassment and completely outside of respectful, professional, legal behavior. read more

Wonderful staff and always enjoy our lessons. The fact the lessons are one on one and not large groups have been amazing. It's not cheap, so expect to pay a decent amount for lessons, but they're definitely fun and well worth it. The lessons are bite sized and not overwhelming. Anna T and the rest of the team at the Cave Creek studio have been super helpful in teaching us some dances for our upcoming cruise wedding. Anna choreographed our first dance to the song we selected - we're happy with the progress we've made and the private lesson structure has enabled us to learn several dances pretty quickly. Me and my husband have immensely enjoyed taking lessons with Kyryl and Polina. Both instructors have award winning competition backgrounds and take so much care and attention to seeing us progress. They are both wonderful people and fun to be around. We went here on a whim to have a fun date night and it turned into a hobby that has challenged us, and gave us something to look forward to every week. Ignore any even slightly negative reviews of this place. My boyfriend and I got three lessons through Groupon just for fun. These guys made it very easy to schedule; they're perfect gentlemen and at the end of the last lesson they did ask but did not pressure us to buy additional lessons. We're recommending this studio to everyone and when we're making a little more money, we'll definitely be back for more. This is a great activity to do before a date or just to spice up a week night. Everyone we ran into there was absolutely lovely. We learned a lot in a short amount of time and our instructor helped us get recordings on our phones so we could practice at home. I wasn't sure what to expect but the atmosphere was super laid back and our instructor was super sweet and made us feel very welcomed. Stay away brides... This was really upsetting experience. I was so excited to find this place and what I thought was a great deal to learn our wedding dance together , the wedding package 2 classes for 99$. We are on a shorter time schedule and children at home we didn't think we'd be able to get in more than the 2 practices in, which I stated from the start. This was not that serious to us we just wanted to go a learn a little dancing before our wedding. I thought it would be a fun& sweet experience to share before we get married... Well I was wrong. At the first class our instructor taught us 3 moves and wasted at least 15 of the minutes of our session trying to push more classes on us to buy. (Packages starting around 400$). We left it as probably not but we'll see if we could make another one work. I got a call in the afternoon before the second class from Sergey, he was asking if we can get more classes in and that we should really purchase more classes. I told him again I believe we can only get there this one last time, being less than a week away we have a lot of other stuff going on but I would see what we could do... So we get there for second class and are told our instructor was sick so we have a different one, all fine , but from the first moment he was wasting time asking to see pictures of wedding location and then goes right into asking about us purchasing more classes, when we tell him probably not able to happen he tells us that we can't learn anything new then we can just go over and practice what you already learned last week... I was shocked. Very Disappointed. We looked at each other and decided to leave. Sergey called soon after to offer free classes we just asked for refund instead. Days later it has not been credited back to us. And to top it off, the card we used there (a card which we never use) has been compromised just found out been being used on Ubers in the Phx area. This is just so wrong to do to people. What a let down. read more

Of course when you try anything new you get nervous and don't know what to expect. Both Chris and I are newbies when it comes to ballroom dancing so of course we didn't know what to expect. Our instructor Samantha made us feel comfortable and did a great job at teaching us some basics. We have a long ways to go but now we know where to go to get some skills. read more

I cannot recommend this place ENOUGH. My friend and I used a Groupon for our first two lessons just for fun and ended up coming back weekly for about a month now. We have had an incredible experience with Nikita and Sergei who are not only talented dancers/instructors but so fun to work with. My friend and I knew nothing at all going into it and were very intimidated but every week we see insane improvement. We've been able to learn about all different kinds of dance and I like we have the freedom to chose what we want to focus on. Nikita is so kind and patient and you can tell he's very passionate about what he does. Scheduling and communication has been a breeze and they really work with you on achieving your goals. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Fred Astaire Dance Studio. My fiancé and I went to get a choregraphed dance for our first dance and we got to work with Nikita. He was so wonderful, attentive, and thoughtful to our skill level, comforts, and goals and he created a dance that we are excited about sharing. Don't waste your time. I recently was scheduled for a private lesson, and had to call to cancel due to a near fatal car accident! Francis seemed to understand until we ended our call. She didn't realize she hadn't hung up, and I heard her say, "I don't know why people have to make up excuses like a car accident to cancel a lesson...it's NOT my problem!" Needless to say, I called back and told Francis that I no longer wished to keep any of my future lessons & that I heard what she said after we "hung up". She merely replied, "Oh sorry...OK!" I hope no one has to experience that type of disrespectful & unempathetic customer service ever! read more

I have been dancing here since the beginning of October 2017. It has been great! From private lessons to practice dance parties and the team match Halloween party everyone has been fun, pleasurable, and professional. The instructors teach you at your pace, explain the steps thoroughly, and answer any questions you have. This is a kid friendly establishment where the whole family can learn how to ballroom dance. I've learned the basic steps for 8 different dances including the Tango, Waltz, and even Jive. read more

We did a pre-wedding dance package here with Slavah and it was wonderful! Salvah did a great job teaching us the basics and answering questions when we had them. We tried to do a pre wedding dance lesson here. we found a groupon for two classes. we got there and met our instructor, a young man. i dont remember his name, he was white and very soft spoken. he seemed nice at first. we told him we would pay full price but we only wanted very basic lessons as we know nothing about dance and just wanted to learn some basics about how to dance at our wedding without looking like we were at high school prom. he scoffed and said "two lessons? we'll see." and then he tried to spend thirty minutes of our first 40 minute lesson showing us pictures of people who have learned to dance there. part of the tour was the reception desk.. he was clearly just wasting our time. we requested to skip the rest of the tour and start the lessons and we could tell this annoyed him. he then started the lesson, showing us how to step forward and backward in unison. this was fine and helpful but then he pushed us together, put on a very fast sinatra song and started just pushing us around the dance floor, occasionally saying things like "step through" and then nearly pushing me over. i tried to stop and ask him what he meant and he said "no stopping" and continued pushing us around. then my fiance tried to stop to work through the step pattern he wanted us to do and he then pushed me into her, almost knocking her over. we told him he needs to explain what he wants us to do and he mentioned that we dont have time for that in two lessons. he said "were 30 minutes in and youre not even close to learning the basics of what you want to learn." it the became very clear at that point that he was just making a very childish attempt to prove that two lessons wouldnt be enough for what he thought we wanted. he never asked what type of song we were going to dance to or even what type of dance we wanted to learn. we then asked him if he was just trying to prove to us that we needed more than two lessons and he got choked up and didnt know what to say. he paused for a second and said "i would like to continue with the lessons YOU requested" so we left. i will admit that this is probably a great place for someone who wants a real bootcamp style dance lesson where spend months training and become a great dancer but if youre like us and just looking to learn some basics for a wedding, go somewhere else. read more

Samantha and the rest of the team here has been so wonderful. They are professional, friendly, and teach us at a good pace that is customized for us. Not too much (or info overload), but also not too easy (which would be boring). We have had so much fun learning to waltz for our wedding and also referred my fiancé's parents here, too! I thought it was a little pricey at first but it's worth it. Each lesson is also sort of a "date" which is kind of fun. I would recommend every couple does this at some point, and a wedding is a great excuse. ;) It's fun to bond and get out of your comfort zone. Enjoy and don't look anywhere else!
