I recommend arriving 15 minutes early to make sure you're on time because they WILL lock the doors once class starts to make sure we aren't interrupted. The classes usually incorporate a full-body workout with music in the background. We do a range of exercises that use the silks in assistance with the workout, but I've never only been in the air. There's a lounge to the right when you first walk in and if you go left there's some really old lockers. But down that hallway to the main room there are cubbies. We started the class doing some warm ups before we moved over to the silks. We learned how to climb the silks, do a foot lock, inversion, and an inverted climb! I do wish the class sizes were smaller though. There were basically 2 people for every set of silks and it was hard to get help when I needed guidance on the next move. There were also a few people learning more difficult skills so the instructor was almost teaching 2 classes in 1.

I dropped in for Primal Pole with NO idea on what to expect and left absolutely delighted…read more It was an intense, beautiful, exhilarating "workout" type pole class with loads of functional movement and some plyo. I had never taken a pole class like this, and I told Nyla upon leaving that if I been taking a classes like this, I WOULD BE LIGHT YEARS AHEAD IN MY POLE JOURNEY! Every part of my body was tapped for strength and balance. Something that I truly appreciated was her ability to gently point out my posture and shoulder engagement. I have some bad form I acquired in foundations I've been working to clear out and she gave me cues to correct without disrupting the class. Injury is no joke in this sport so I have so much respect for a teacher that will prioritize form over "just having fun" or "looking pretty." She was also able to modify an adv move that I could not do due to my pregnancy. Nevertheless I left sweaty and sore in all the right places! and PS I DID HAVE FUN! I would say if you are even beg/int this would be a tough class but doable if you have decent stamina and familiarity with mobility training. Addressing some of the other reviews I read after the fact: Yes, Nyla, has an attitude! But don't let that fool you. She is keenly watching and will happily clarify, correct, or modify! She is a professional that does not coddle you - after taking pole for a couple years I appreciate teachers like this that help you grow and not plateau. The "follow the leader" approach has made me a better dancer because it teaches me HOW to learn and how to self-correct.

I've attended some dance/fitness classes before at other studios, and actually this same one before it was taken over by Prowess, and I am truly impressed. The community here is what is a standout! Everyone is so encouraging, and the girl power is real. I grew up doing competitive gymnastics, and I've always looked for something that has scratched that itch, and lyra was that to a tee! Inga is a spectacular instructor, and caters to everyone's level, while keeping things just the right level of challenging. She implements great conditioning exercises at the start of classes to get everyone warmed up enough to do any inversions. There were mats in case anyone wasn't ready to do anything on regular floor, and with a max class size of 6 and 3 hoops, everyone got lots of time on the apparatus. I look forward to my class every week!

The entrance has the main pole room which is nice and spacious. They also have another room for aerial classes and it also has some poles in there. They also have 2 restrooms. It is such a nice pole studio with the warmest welcome from not just instructors but the people there! You are surrounded by all kinds of amazing people at all levels who are so encouraging and that just keeps you motivated to keep coming back. I love all of the instructors who make it such a safe space to learn and grow with no judgment. I have never experienced a dance class that was filled with such loving energy before and people who help you tap into your most authentic and feminine self. There's something so addicting about this place where you can let go and express yourself fully. It's cool that the instructors offer you grip and even their heels to try. They also have multiple tripods so you can record your progress and choreo. People are genuinely so kind in the pole community. I love that they have different packages that are so worth it! A lot of dance studios just do drop-in classes which can really add up, but their beginners package is a bang for your buck, considering you can do multiple classes a day every day. I immediately bought it and try to go almost every day I'm off work. Thank you Prowess Pole for this new experience in my life. I highly highly recommend this place and would rate it 6 stars if I could.
