I understand this is Miami's new hot pizza spot, and they're likely still adjusting to the hype. But my issue is being charged an 18% automatic gratuity when I had only one brief interaction with my waitress -- and in that moment, she forgot the one thing I asked for. We waited 20 minutes past our reservation, then another 15 minutes before anyone came over. The busboy ended up taking our order, and the first time we met our actual waitress was when she brought out the pizza. I asked for a cup of ice, but it never came. I didn't ask to remove the gratuity, as I hope it gets shared with the busboy and kitchen staff who clearly worked hard. But it's frustrating to pay a mandatory tip when the assigned server barely engaged with us. read more

If you're a fan of super thin and crispy pizza, then this is the place for you! Tried this spot for the first time and OMG, delicious. We had a half plain and a half the feast of San Gennaro and both were amazing. The sauce, the flavor, it's just on point. I also love that the place reminds me of the inside of an old Pizza Hut, but elevated. I'm talking wood paneling, booths, brick walls, red tile and those stained glass pendant lamps (IYKYK). The vibe is unpretentious, casual pizza spot. On the menu? Only 2 salads and pizza, simple and straightforward. Everyone is chill, and easy going. Service was quick and simple. My only feedback is add a baby changing table to the bathroom my friends...If not you're about to see some diaper changing action on your tables! Let's try to avoid that. But seriously, it's the right thing to do, let's be inclusive, we were all babies once in our lifetime. read more

Fratesi Pizza (@fratesi_pizza) is a pop-up available on Sundays only at Tâm Tâm (@tam.tam.mia). It is a solid NY-style, thin, crispy-bottom pizza with quality-tasting ingredients ! I tried the Vodka Pie Special, added chicken sausage for some extra protein, and found it very tasty. The caesar salad was also a pleasant surprise, especially considering it is vegan . MCD hack: keep an eye out for their menu on their IG story, and make sure to call early to place your order. I called at 11:30am and the earliest pickup time available was 2:40pm read more

Service terrible would avoid at all costs. Food subpar at best and extremely overpriced. Forgot half our order and had to wait nearly a whole hour for our salad to arrive after our pizzas. Servers acted like they hated us and ignored us the whole time. Also forgot to leave off the peppers of our pizza. Avoid this restaurant. read more

I randomly came across Fratesi's on Instagram and I said I had to go the next time I visited Miami. The Red Top pizza (vegan) is very good! Very thin crust, no flop, super sweet sauce that goes all the way to the edge of the crust, fresh basil and garlic. High-quality ingredients. However, the rest of the experience was extremely frustrating. Resy said no reservations, so I went to order online. It said not taking orders. I checked a couple hours later and the site was taking orders and it said an hour wait. We got to the restaurant a little early and they actually had a couple tables available. But they couldn't seat us inside because we already had a to-go order placed. Whatever. They said 10-15 minutes til our order was ready. The staff was pretty much clueless and it ended up taking 35 minutes from when we first arrived. It was only a little bit longer than the initial estimate but the operations are incredibly sloppy and it ruined the excitement. Overall, worth trying the pizza but they need to work on the customer experience. read more

What a great place! Very very popular spot! Like all good things, word gets out, so please do yourself a favor and make a reservation and be on time, otherwise you're going to wait, a lot, or at the very least be there early and be ready to take a cancellation spot but a wait will still be something to consider! The location is small and there was a line of people waiting on opening to go in! That being said, Man was that some amazing food! Even the salad! What a creamy indulgence from the tahini dressing, and the most intense crunch from the smallest of crumbs. The salad alone was 10/10! And we haven't even touched the subject of the pizza and service! I've heard such great things about this place and it met the standards and some. The hostess was super nice and was able to sit us quickly, and our server was attentive and energetic. The pizza type is definitely a Bar style pizza, thin and crispy, perfectly done. Don't expect your NYC style or Neapolitan pizza, not all pizza is the same folks! We left the pizza selection up to our waiter this time (we were excited), he recommended a solid combo of onions, banana peppers, chicken sausage (chefs kiss), it worked amazingly! All the flavors are loud, strong, tasty, sweet, crunchy, a true top tier pizza experience for us. Most definitely going back for this experience. Again, make reservations and be on time is my suggestion to everyone! read more

We were very hesitant to try Fratesi's since hyped Miami restaurants have a poor reputation. However, Fratesi's is everything and more. The Caesar salad is delicious and the pizza was outstanding. Their tomato sauce is simple, the cheese is cooked to perfection, and the crust is the star. This will definitely be added to our family go-to pizza joints. read more

Sunday pop-up out of Tám Tám's spot downtown. Open 2pm-sold out but they start taking orders via phone at 11am. 786-359-4647 to call or text for a call back if they're busy. I got the demon pig boy & buffalo wings. The pizza is a thin crispy pie, light sauce & super seasoned/flavorful. The wings were also good - they had a great buffalo glaze. It's not the easiest spot to get food from since you may have a long wait, so definitely put in an order early & select a pickup time that works for you. I'm hoping they get their own dedicated spot soon because I'm sure they'd do well. read more

What is the hype? My mom I have been trying to get a reservation for over a month finally we get a 5 pm. First the location, as a local, I knew the inconvenience of downtown but this is a different type first all the roads are closed you have to park 3 blocks away then the parking 3 blocks away is $30 for an hour. After you deal with that you walk in to a hot ass restaurant, maybe because it had just opened at 5 and it was still getting started but so hot after I just walked 3 blocks. The ambiance was okay it was cute nothing special. Next the servers were amazing and super nice and we were sat immediately. We order the salad and our waitress says do you want cheese for the Cesar salad so we assume it's so extra fancy topping nope the Cesar salad does not come with cheese and it's $2 to add cheese. Isn't that what a Cesar salad is? I've never seen Cesar come without cheese in my life. Then tbh the dressing was super tart and not pleasant. We then order half cheese half demon pig girl I will say I love that the sausage was chicken and not pork so A+ for that. The pizza looks like it would be so flavorful and it's just it's very bland the sauce is a regular tomato sauce the crust although thin and crispy is almost like cardboard now I love a thin crispy pizza like this but something was off in my opinion. I would never go back if I'm being honest there are a million other pizza places I would go to before this. read more

Okay, I totally forgot to take a picture or write a review but a few weeks ago my boyfriend showed up on a Friday night with a plain pie and omg, hands down best pizza in Florida!!!! This pizza is so good. Truly a 10/10 in the past I have also ordered the tahini Caesar salad! It's very often I am fighting the urge to order. Fire pizza, deserves better reviews than it has. They were a pop up on Sundays @ tam tam, but negative entitled people ruined that too. They finally have a brick & mortar and they're doing the best they can with the amount of volume. U don't like to wait 2 hours for a pizza? Ok, I will. They're that good. Make a resy next time. Who shows up to a small spot, no resy with 6 people and expects to be seated right away? @ Fratesi, ur doing great sweetie, but please bring back the wings. read more

I'm from Massachusetts and I thought this was going to be similar to bar pizza from back home. It's not in the slightest it tastes exactly like a Totinos pizza if you burnt it. Don't get me wrong I love a well done pizza (especially bar IYKYK) but this crust was like a saltine cracker no flavor sauce no flavor no seasoning with a tang sweetness to it. Cheese stiff no cheese pull, don't believe the hype! The only reason why it's packed is because it's a very small location in the middle of downtown very hard to spot with no sign being outside. And the door is just pitch black. When you walk in it's a very dark/very dim lighting. The 3 hostess' seemed over it (don't know why there was 3 especially how helpless they were) and annoyed for the People that were walking in with no reservation since there was no tables and turning people away left and right. She didn't explain how you can make a reservation until being asked. I don't agree with the gratuity 18% for To go orders especially waiting after Two hours for what tasted like a frozen pizza. The $18 Caesar salad was so gross I took two bites and threw it away Don't waste your time. read more

As a transplant from Chicago this was absolutely incredible and a taste of home. This super thin and crispy pizza reminds me of classic tavern style pizza which is super hard to find in Florida let alone miami! My only complaint was they didn't cut it into squares lol The Arugula salad was great as well with a generous amount of cheese just like Ma used make. Overall an amazing and nostalgic experience that I recommend to anyone from Chicago or not! read more

There is truly nothing like this place to the point that my boyfriend was talking about needing to go back while we were in Paris. Between the old school vibes, the energy, the SERVICE, and the pizza itself.. there's a reason why we've gone back every month since its opened. We've had pretty great service but one particularly stands out. If you get Liz, just know you're in for the greatest and warmest service of your life -- which is a rarity in Miami. The pizza is amazing but what really makes this place a 10/10 is the service and Liz truly embodies what customer service should look like. As a true Miami native, this is the best pizza by far and I'm already pretentious when it comes to a perfect slice. read more

Fratesi's Pizza - Frustrating First Experience After Bringing a Group I came to Fratesi's with high hopes. I had actually stopped by the day before to check it out and was impressed enough to invite a group of seven friends to join me for dinner the next evening. I arrived around 6:15 for a 6:30 reservation and was seated at 6:20. The hosts were very friendly and professional, but service quickly fell short. It took nearly 10 minutes before a server came over, and I didn't place my order until around 6:40. By 7:00, I still hadn't received my pizza--even though I watched other tables and bar guests who arrived after me get served first. What really frustrated me was noticing a pizza that looked exactly like mine being delivered to a nearby table. I had ordered the Fratesi's Pizza with four extra toppings: pickled jalapeños, fresh basil, garlic, and chicken sausage. It was a very specific, one-of-one type of order--and someone else received it and ate it without question. That just added to the disappointment. It's hard to believe no one double-checked, and even harder to understand how something so specific could be dropped at the wrong table and not corrected. At 7:20, after still not receiving my food or any clear resolution, I walked out. Very disappointed--especially after bringing a group and wanting to support a new local spot. The ambiance and hosts showed promise, but the service and execution weren't there. I genuinely hope they improve, but unfortunately, my first visit left a bad impression, and I will never be back. And to add, the menu says Chilled Wine... Meanwhile the bottle came out HOT! Sticking to places with good quality and good service, like Lucali and D.C. Pie! read more

The best Caesar salad that we've ever had. The pizza was excellent. Both servers that attended to us were great.

Any review under 5 stars is insane. Fratesi has one of the best pizza's in South Florida. The crust is deliciously thin & crispy. The topping combinations are so creative and the flavors work so well together. Literally such a delicious pie. I've had their pizza since they were at Over Under & the pop up at Tam Tam. Last night was my first time at their restaurant. There were no reservations on Resy so I emailed the restaurant in the early afternoon. They reached back out willing to accommodate me with a minor time restriction. Unfortunately, we got stuck on the bridge on the way there & made it late to our reservation. Regardless, they were able to accommodate us anyway with a short wait. So, all the reviews abut the service are insane. They really try their best. I never leave reviews but I had to because it is so unacceptable for this place to have anything lower than a 4.5!!! 5++++++!! read more

Will never return to this place ever again, they have no respect for walk-ins, if you don't have a reservation they will not sit you down and look over you. How do you show up three hours before closing and be told your wait will be one hour and agree to wait and then be told after waiting an hour and half you will not be seated to eat this is ridiculous to me. And then be told by the receptionist that if you arrive when they open there's plenty of seats. Also found out while waiting for almost two hours no matter the size of your party they 18% gratuity to your ticket who is going to even tip 18% after waiting almost two hours to sit especially for a party of two. Worse part was the receptionist started they only take walk-ins based on cancellation and they one have one table for walk-ins. Again do not recommend and will never return to this place. Management better open there's eyes and make changes cause this is hurting your business extremely. And to mention I was not the only person as a walk-in who was denied seating there where at least 10 other parties ranging from 2,5, and 10. Also there in absolutely no parking due to streets closed and construction all over the area. read more

We were told we could put ourselves on the waitlist and the estimated wait time would be an hour and 45 minutes. We waited the entire time and there was still no text regarding our table. When we went back to check how many parties were in front of us, the hostess told us that they could no longer sit us because "no reservation cancelled during the hour & 45 minute time frame" that was given. However, she did not explain that the first time and misled us by having us think that we'd be seated after almost the 2 hour wait. Very disappointed and never coming back. read more

The pizza is absolutely amazing. However, I have to give them a 3. There is absolutely no parking and The location is not easy accesible so come about thirty minutes before your reservation time to find parking and to then walk to the actual restaurant. We walked about 15 minutes to get here. They also ran out of the Caesar salad and we didn't get to try It on top of waiting as long as we did for a reservation. It's really inconvenient for someone to book out in advance (reservations open a month out) and then show up to a restaurant that has items running out for their later reservations who were looking forward to trying this. Not the best service. But if you're coming for the pizza, you'll enjoy the pizza. read more

Decent pizza but nothing special for what they're charging. I got takeout and was charged a 10% auto gratuity as well as a "box charge"

Came 5 mins before my reservation, was seated right away, greeted by server right away, Caesar salad was outstanding, Demon Pig girl was really good, sauce was a tad bit too sweet for my liking but the sausage was really high quality. The wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive which made it a 5 out of 5 for me. I'll be back for sure! read more

Amazing crispy crust but way way way tooooo much tomato sauce and too little cheese! It was literally a tomato pie. We like sauce, but both of us had a MOUND of tomato sauce on our plates by the time we were finished, it was ridiculous, messy and napkins drenched in sauce. We got two different pies and both same issue. Not enough cheese to contain the overload of sauce spilling over every time you bit. Really never seen anything like it. Don't call it pizza, call it a tomato pie. Service was ok but left disappointed read more

Neighborhood looks like a Post-War look, complete buildings demolished, and orange barricades leading paths like trenches. not even 25mins after they opened we put our name down. We sat down an hour and a half later. Eagerly hungry we instantly ordered; what a simple but refreshing looking salad only took 25 mins another 40 mins on top for our pie. Completely dissatisfied. To think with only 6 group tables another 6 couple tables and 6 bar stools the service we received is lackluster and astonishing. For being only a pizza shop and waiting so long is a disservice, and sending people off to other restaurants is not only crazy but inconsiderate when you have no signs out and the only foot traffic is the skaters exploring the abandoned area, this place is obviously found from word of mouth. We sat in the middle of the small janitor closet with middle school science stools completely uncomfortable. When I think of this place it will always be like a hot dog stand waving me off because they got online orders. I'll take my money some place else. And don't hype your selves up I've had better pepperoni from a frozen pie or better yet a 7/11. read more

Overrated and expensive for what it is. Pizza was decent but nothing special at all and I like thin pizza too. Sauce wasn't great as it was bland and slightly sweet. They auto charge 18 percent gratuity even though it's pickup which is absurd. Also it is very inconvenient to have to place an order significantly ahead and pick it up later at a particular time slot . Go to Lucali instead for a thin type slice. Wings were good though. read more
