The atmosphere and setting was lovely. Lawrence at the front door sat us at our table and ended our visit by assisting my daughter with paying the check. And my daughter paying the check - I mean my 3 year old handed him my credit card and he was really kind to her, which is always appreciated. Cody our server seemed like he got busier with other bigger tables and I kind of felt like he checked out on us long before I asked for the check. Fresh bread was good. Mozzarella sticks were a hit with my daughter. Chicken was good, I prefer mine to be more tender but the pasta was pretty good. The sauce was good I would love to plan to return for a date night. There is no kids menu, though they were kind it's not really a family restaurant.

I would still go back but will add salt. Service is always good here better than the ala moana location. Sorry but I always forget to take picture before I start eating

BRUNCH REVIEW! Food: 5/5…read moreService: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Located inside of Foodland Farms Kapolei, this place is easy to find. Lots of parking available as well since this is part of a shopping center. Made reservations via OpenTable and glad that I did because I noticed this place was pretty busy for brunch. I believe brunch is on Saturdays and Sundays. My party and I shared the Korean Chicken & Mochi Waffles and the Two Eggs with Anykine Fried Rice and Portuguese Sausage. We also ordered a bottle of mimosa to share. Portions aren't really big but this was enough food for the both of us. Food was delicious and we recommend ordering them. We didn't realize that the spread for the mochi waffles was wasabi-based, so beware if you aren't a fan of wasabi. Our server was friendly and helpful. I loved the ambiance of this place. Great place for families and catching up with friends. I recommend stopping in!

Walking up to the window gave me some flashbacks to when I was a young kid growing up in Kalihi. You get a mom and pop feel with the service from the aunty serving you. She's not old but very nice and great customer service. The food was very good to me 8/10 and it gave me a nostalgic taste of food I used to eat at the school cafeteria at McKinley HS which by the way was top notch. Baked spaghetti tastes like spaghetti you would make at home, the roast pork was on point with tenderness and good flavor. The baked chicken was good and I should have gotten the gravy to go with it but the chicken alone was still good. Scoopers felt like you were visiting a family and you were having lunch with them at home. It was great and I would definitely good back to try their other food items.

The only chance I can visit Scoopers is during the Summer, intercessions, or unless I try to plan my visits around Dr. appointments, so I can take off. hehe. Owner Chimienti is super nice and so hardworking, she does it all by herself, phone calls, cashier, packing foods, everything no help. Please be patient, sometimes when I call I won't get through to get my orders in, but if no answer I will try again later. Keep in mind she sells quick, during this recent visit I called about 9:30 and she said she is already all sold out! She has all different daily specials and my favorites are Thursdays when I do get my orders in it will be Thursdays. I also pick up/treat my siblings so I grab them a place too. They love it just as much, as my family loves the Scoopers plate. What a treat, my favorites are the roast turkey and mushroom chicken. If I can make it out on a Friday that's my next favorite day for the specials. OMG, eating roast turkey just takes me back to school days, the only reason I look forward was the roast turkey lunch, hehe. Also when I don't have to wait for Thanksgiving to have my turkey. The turkey plate comes with stuffing too. The portion are huge and it is for dinner & lunch the next day. I also save/freeze the turkey to make jook/congee the next week. I love the salad options and salad dressing too, Thousand Island & French- super good, they are home-made. Love the mac salad, ( one of the best I had and the bonus piece of brownie. & to sum Scoopers up I say - Wow, OMG- huge portions, affordable, ono grinds, a hidden Gem for cheap eats in Waipahu. Here is me right now, counting down the days..... to my my Scoopers visit.

I noticed that there was a blazin steaks in that little mall that Foodland is in and thought about how I don't think I've seen a blazin steaks in like 5 years? Have they all closed except this one?? So i decided I needed to support blazin steaks and headed inside. The parking lot was full, but people are constantly coming and going to I found a spot pretty easily. I watched this huge truck try to park in the diagonal stalls and it wasn't looking good. Anyway, once inside I decided on a steak and garlic ahi plate with all salad. I had seen pics before ordering and I like when the salad is just romaine. None of this mixed greens stuff... and the romaine is crisp. Love it. You can also choose a sauce, so I chose the Korean bbq. If you don't want just salad, there is also rice or corn. The service was fast and friendly. My plate was ready in less than 10 mins, even though there were other people waiting for their orders too. It's a good sign that there are so many workers and that they all looked busy. The small area where you order felt a little cramped with just a few people waiting so I waited outside where there are a couple tables to eat at. The steak was how I remember it. Kinda cut thin and all over the place, but it was seasoned and pretty good. The ahi was also delicious and the sauce made a nice addition to the ranch to form this Asiany ranch to eat my lettuce with. Overall, it's how I remembered it. The steak maybe isn't like steakhouse restaurant quality, but for $20, it's a nice place to add to my rotation of take out spots because it's fast, convenient and delicious.

We finally got to go and he wasn't wrong, the food was good and it was a great value for the amount. We both got combos with garlic chicken, kalbi, and spare ribs. He would give 4 stars but I would give 3.5, so we settled on 4 because he last came 20 years ago and the food was still good. I was giving 3.5 because some of the food was a bit too salty and the place needed some upgrades and they didn't have a restroom, even for patrons. Parking is good because it's in a plaza.

I tried calling 3 times but it go straight into voicemail and cuts, so no chance of talking to anyone. So we decided to leave earlier and let the family know if they were open or not because they would be driving in from Kaimuki area. They were open, so we had lunch there, I checked in and ordered off the Yelp order sheet. I ordered the spicy chicken and spicy pork and it came with rice & macaroni salad and fresh apple salad and a choice of pineapple cucumber drink or a halo halo drink the reviews said that the pineapple cucumber drink tasted more like cucumber, so I decided on the halo halo. The spicy pork was very tasty and not overly spicy and the spicy chicken seems like they use chicken breast so it was thick and the marinade was only on the surface and the chicken was dry. The fresh apple salad was very good and the sesame dressing was good and when well with the salad. The Kalbi was good and tasty The crinkle cut French fries came out hot and crispy which was great! The mix plate was huge with Teri beef, beef curry, hamburger patty with gravy, it was very good. The halo halo was tasty and good They don't have a restroom and when asked if the shopping complex had a public restroom, they said no you need to go to the other shopping mall which she said go to Seafood City they have restroom. I'm surprised that all the restaurants and retail outlets there and they don't have a restroom for all their customers that go there. They are located in the old Highway inn restaurant that used to serve Hawaiian Food and sell fresh seafood. There is a lot of restaurants and other shops in this complex, so it could get difficult with parking.

The beef was a little tough but not bad. My son ordered the laulau kalua pig combo and omg...soooo ono! The pig was juicy and perfectly smoked. I with there was a little more of it and less cabbage but would still order again. The laulau was delicious with a generous amount of pork. I love that it wasn't salty and you can actually taste the flavor of the pork and lū'au leaf. First class service that I'd expect from Ritz Carlton so it was a pleasant surprise to get this level of service. We realized Matthew was our server when we dined here a year ago. I meant to write a positive review then but I must've gotten too busy. He was just as outstanding then. As for the food: Korean Fried Chicken was very tasty. Futomaki was huge but wasn't very good. We won't be ordering that again. Normally, I would deduct a star for including a kitchen charge. Seems like Zippy's could do a better job in figuring out their compensation policy without making it look like they push this onto their customer. It's Zippy's responsibility and not the customer's. In addition, they start the tipping guide at 18%. When you're done with your meal and look at your receipt, it feels like they are taking advantage of the customer. If it weren't for Matthew, the rating for this review wouldn't be higher than 3 stars. One good thing on the receipt is that they do indicate that tips are calculated on the subtotal before taxes and discounts are applied. This is good info for the customer as some places calculate on the final total with taxes included which would be deceiving the customer.
