So today went shopping at seafood city after we went here cause I wanted to go yesterday but the close on Monday. Food was really good service was great, I was happy with it. Not sure if the have a restroom in there. Probably outside, just have to ask. But other than that it's a good place to go eat. The problem is parking.busy place. But worth it if you in Waipahu and like Italian food and Vietnamese coffee or the tea. Mellow place
So far so good. I've been here three times so far and everything is delicious. I really can't make up my mind on what's my favorite. The chicken carbonara for sure is a 1000% must get. Chicken is tender, the Alfredo sauce is just enough to coat the pasta and dip the bread into. If one complaint it's there is no eggplant parmesan. The owner explained that it's rarely ordered a the veggies go bad quickly since he makes everything fresh. I can respect that. Overall five stars. Large plates at reasonable prices. This is my go-to spot when I'm too tired to cook and craving a creamy, carb heavy meal. As a fast, casual pasta spot, there a few tables for dine in but we usually order our pasta to-go. The chicken Alfredo is a must have. I appreciate that they put in a bit of spinach so can I feel a bit healthier with my giant plate of pasta. If you're feeling extra hungry, you can even order it as a half alfredo, half lasagna.
I first saw this place on social media and knew I had to try next time I was in the area. I saw the guy order a shrimp Alfredo and they didn't exactly have it on the menu but the guy working said he'll make it for me. They seem to be very accommodating with what's on the menu. Great service and willing to provide recommendations. The food was good and portions were huge! It was definitely 2 meals for me. I would definitely come back again. The shop is a little small and tucked away in a small center. A little easy to miss but I was able to find it fine with GPS. There's free parking in the lot.
Probably some of the best Italian on the Westside! If you love and miss JP Spaghetti in Wahiawa, Fratelli Express in Waipahu is pretty similar. No frills, walk up to order, but you get fresh Italian pasta dishes served in takeout boxes. Hubby and I finally had lunch here a few months ago after I heard rave Yelp and Instagram reviews from TOWNIES. You know when townies are willing to make a drive to Waipahu for food, that says something. We shared the "Misty Combo," a combo plate of the Chicken Fratelli and Lasagna. Sauces and meats were flavorful and the pasta was cooked al dente! Funny that either rice or linguine are options for dishes...really catering to the local community, I see lol. We washed our lunch down with their refreshing plantation iced tea. When I'm craving Italian from home near Waipahu, but don't feel like cooking, Fratelli Express hits the spot! Love that they're BYOB and their operating hours are great (makes for a great, simple date night), but they're closed Mondays. Find them next to Nanding's Bakery!
The food, price, and portions are all good. I came because I thought pasta plate lunch was funny, but it is better than some more expensive places. They have been open for a year and 3 months so far. Very good place that I will come back to. Service is good, but the inside is very mom and pop. It is warm, but they said most of their orders are pick up. Ample parking. The inside is quiet.
Small hole in the wall restaurant in the old Cho Dang spot next to Nandings in Waipahu. This was our first time here and it wasn't bad, honestly. Friendly service and average prices, food was hit and miss. We read the raving reviews and maybe our expectations were too high which explains the slight disappointment in some of our choices. We ordered the chicken alfredo and lasagna combo ($20.90) and a NY steak and shrimp scampi combo ($26.90). Food came out relatively quick - but we were the only diners at this time so hard to say if this is the norm. There were lots of to-go orders though. Best dish: The alfredo sauce was good! Creamy, cheesy, seasoned well and served over linguine noodles with pieces of chicken. The lasagna looked to be a good size and it was cheesy but... The sauce had a strong tomato forward taste and was not our favorite. Kinda bummed since we really like lasagna.. just not this one. The NY steak was covered in mushrooms and onions with a red wine demi glace. I asked for medium rare and it came closer to medium. The steak could've used some seasoning, even though its sitting in the sauce, the lack of savoriness was noticeable. The scampi came with 4 shrimp and choke garlic and was served on linguine noodles. The butter was on the bottom under the noodles so it was much better if you mixed the noodles first. Bread does not come with the plates, so don't forget to order it like we did. And no, they don't do cheesy garlic bread. Overall we give this place a 3.25 out of 5 . Try it, you may like it.
Popped in on a late afternoon to an empty store. Greeted by friendly employees who didn't make us feel rushed. Placed our order and ran next door to grab some baked goodies from Nandings bakery. There are about 5 tables in various sizes to easily sit 25-30 people. Clean, organized dining area. Ravioli consisted of about a dozen pieces swimming in a juicy tomato sauce. Simple but enough to hit the spot. Seafood combo had clams, mussels, shrimp & calamari rings over linguine. Chunks of garlic but it still seemed a little watery which may have contributed to some of the lack in flavor. Lots of menu options that I'll be back to try! Oh... and they packaged our to go meals great!
Great experience! We ordered 5 different dishes and honestly they were all amazing!! The fish was cooked perfectly, the meatballs are homemade, but what took the cake is the Alfredo and Garlic Bread!!! Must get must try!!! I knew there was something special with this place when they knew exactly what I meant by pink sauce. My entree was amazing!! Simplicity to perfect pasta!
Love this place. It's a hidden gem with amazing Italian food. Stopped here with my wife after a doctor's appointment and found this very friendly restaurant. The food was oh so tasty - the fried ravioli was soooo good. Coming back again to try other combinations
Wow! Excellent! Simply excellent! I've never been a big lasagna person ( cray I know) but I am now, as long as its Fratelli's lasagna! The wonderful meat sauce with ricotta. To die for! Ordered the misty special so came with chicken basilio. Very garlicky and a little on the dry side but just swish it in your lasagna sauce and you are in pasta heaven! The garlic bread- crispy outside with soft center. Pan fried. Truly perfect! Mom had the shrimp portabella. The portion was huge, which made her very happy. Large and generous with the shrimp and veggies on linguine tossed in a white wine (?) sauce. Addictive! One man show on the day we were there so short 5-10 min wait but all orders done with care. Very nice man who was working hard. We will be back to try many of the great choices.

Visited our local go to Italian place, Fratelli's Express. Another great meal and the owners are simply good people. I witnessed owner helping carry a fairly large take out order for a Kupuna all the way to her car. Now that's customer service. I have to share this bite. I would consider this a hidden gem in the Waipahu area, located in the smaller business area right before Waipahu Zippy's and next to Nandings, this is a smaller shop but the Italian food their pumping out is top notch. It kind of reminds me of the old JP spaghetti, and they do not skimp out on the portions and the prices are awesome. Today I went with the 1/2 and 1/2 chicken parmesan with meat lasagna, and it was delicious and most filling. Keep in mind that if you are mixing plates that they do not mix more than one chicken dish together, for example you cant get a chicken parmesan with a chicken piccada, even so it was a good combo. The red sauce was not too sweet with the right amount of seasonings, the chicken was cooked great, not too dry and not to thin, with a nice amount of melted mozzarella cheese right over it. The lasagna was typical meat lasagna, not the greatest but makes you feel like you mama cooked it for you which I also appreciate. All orders come with garlic bread, as is should, and it's the perfect compliment to your meal. The staff was friendly and helpful and the service itself was pretty quick, so if you're even in the Waipahu area and are craving some cheap Italian food give em a try. read more
Fratelli Express is so good! It's one of our family's favorite places to eat. Our kids absolutely love the linguine with butter, making it an easy choice every visit. My favorite is the half lasagna and half chicken Basilio combo, while my husband always orders the meatball sandwich. Everything is consistently fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. Their plantation iced tea is also delicious and the perfect complement to the meal. The service is always excellent, and the owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel special. We can't wait to come back and highly recommend Fratelli Express to anyone looking for delicious Italian food and outstanding hospitality! read more

Got to try dis place yesterday. I tried da combo lasagna and chicken carbonara combo. Mom and Aunty both got shrimp portobello because they wanted "vegetables". Anywho, the carbonara was creamy and cheesy. Yum. I only ate that half and ate the lasagna half later at home, which was equally as good. Mom and Aunty loved their food but ended up eating only half because they gave so much. I think the guy that took our order was the cook as well and he was very patient with the nana's I had with me cuz they couldn't make up their mind. Cozy space where you can eat order at the counter and find a table. The food came fast. If in the area I would come here again. read more

Fratelli Express our Go To place for delicious Italian food. The owner and his staff are always so friendly and welcoming. Food is prepared Fresh and Hot. They have a small cozy dining room, take out is definitely an option. We tried their signature dish Chicken Fratelli. Chicken prepared with garlic, roasted peppers, pepperoni, capers, and mushrooms in a white wine sauce. Simply delicious . Also ordered the Lasagna and a side of garlic bread. The Lasagna was awesome. Love the melted cheese on top. And of course you have to have bread or garlic bread when you're eating pasta. Fratelli's makes some really good bread. Freshly baked and served piping hot. read more

We got the fried mozzarella, linguine portabella, and chicken Alfredo -- all super ʻono! The fried mozzarella especially came out hot and crispy, perfect starter before the pastas. There's plenty of parking since it's in the same shopping center as Nanding's Bakery. They've got indoor seating with about five tables, and some are good for larger groups if you're eating with the whole ʻohana. Bonus -- it's BYOB if you wanna dine in and make it a little more festive. Service for take-out was fast and food came out super hot! Definitely a solid spot for a cozy, casual Italian meal in Waipahu. read more

Great little Italian restaurant in the heart of Waipahu. They're located next to the famous Nanding's Bakery. The food was Ono and the service was also good. Although they serve the food in a takeout container and you can just sit inside and eat. I like that you can make combo dishes. If you would like to try more than one dish. The lasagna was great and the scampi was also good. My daughter had the chicken Alfredo with linguine and she said it was way tastier than CPK. We need to try more dishes here soon. You can get a cup of water and it's pretty much self serve. No wait help there. The chef and the front of house look Asian and not actually Italian. read more

Fratellis is located towards the end of Waipahu in a strip mall. There's lots of parking available too. I heard that the owners came from paesanos and started their own business so I wanted to support. I've actually came here twice already. I thought that I would give them another shot since the food was pretty average the first time I went and maybe ordered the wrong items. Everyone raved about their lasagna so that is what I ended up trying that was only able to be a combo with any of their chicken items that's on their menu. Their lasagna was probably the better choice - and not too cheesy which I appreciated. The chicken portion of the meal was slightly undercooked so I popped it in the microwave for a bit. I also picked up a plantation ice tea which was unsweetened. The service on the other hand was really great. However, I don't think this is something I would go out of my way to drive out of town for. But this is probably a good option if you live on the west side. read more

Hidden jem? Hell yeah... If you're looking for a linen covered table, fine China, glassware, and metal utensils, then this is not the place for you. However, if you're looking for delicious Italian fusion cuisine, then you need this. Fratelli Express is located in beautiful Waipahu right next to Nanding's Bakery. They will be celebrating their 1st anniversary at that location. From what I gather, the chefs are from Paesano Ristorante Italiano in Manoa. Along with delicious food, their customer service was on point. So friendly and took the time to suggest items and explain how it's prepared. Got Chicken Alfredo & Chicken Parmigiana--the portions were massive. Needless to say delicious too~ Also ordered calamari which were on the thicker/not that crispy side--still good though (throw it in the airfryer like we did if you want it crispier). They don't have the fried spring rolls sadly due to them being short staff per the owner. Service was fast (called at 6:30pm on a Saturday night, 10 mins and it's ready for pick up), the owner/front staff were friendly and personable. Place isn't a looker. It seems to aim more for takeout vs a dine in experience. Would still highly recommend over places like Bravo's that have overpriced/watery pasta--only upside there is their unlimited garlic knots but save money and make/buy your own garlic bread lol. Anyway--food was well worth the price. Will definitely come back again for future pasta cravings read more

ordered while in traffic from town, was breaking my fast so decided to get a chicken alfredo and lasagna (also got garlic bread but it didn't even make it to the ride home it was too good ) whenever i'm craving italian food fratelli is my go to, so delicious and packaged perfectly, workers are always kind and the restaurant is always clean! need to dine in one day. 10/10 recommend! read more

Rated 3 star the communication with the woman was terrible! I Ordered the chicken picatta without capers The noodles was dry it had no sauce. Alfredo portion was a good size , tasty but dry. Vitenemese coffee was very good! read more

I can't wait to give this place another try. I ordered a combo that was listed as a popular item. I'm not much of a lasagna fan but hey, if the people order this the most I will try it! A man also in teh dining area stated he could drink their sauce, it's that delicious and I have to agree! The red sauce with the lasagna was really good. I need to return and just have sauce and noodles! The Alfredo sauce was good and the chicken was tender and flavorful. I enjoyed the spinach in the sauce and mixed what I could of the Alfredo with the red marinara sauce. The dining area is small but sufficient if you're here to sit for a few minutes to eat. I took my order to go and look forward to eating take out again soon. read more

Fratelli Express is owned by former Paesano Manoa staff members (from what I've been told). Congratulations to them for getting together and opening up something of their own! They are located in Waipahu so it's a journey for all those who want to support them from town. Lunch Buddy suggested dining at Fratelli Express and we all wanted to support them so we decided to do dinner there. The Mayor of Chinatown dined here a week before our planned dinner so he was able to provide valuable insight from his dining experience. His order sounded really good so I knew what I was going to order when we all met up. The menu is simple just like the dining area of the restaurant. They can accommodate small to medium size parties. It's not fine dining but you get good food from friendly people. We had great customer service all night! I ordered their lasagna and chicken pasta combo. You can pick any of the chicken pasta dishes on the menu so I picked their Chicken Pomodori. I was last to get my meal but it was a full plate and it was really good! The garlic bread was perfect to soak up all the sauces. I believe it was one of the owners that said the Mayor of Chinatown's Yelp photo made the lasagna combo a top seller and I can see why! Excellent choice and amazing value. Highly recommended and I see what they were consistently busy all night. read more
Seeing and hearing all good things about Fratelli Express bunch of us decided to check them out for dinner .AKA auntie Nadine.C and Mayor of Chinatown Paul.C already dined here and posted a review so I had to personally check them out for myself . Not disappointed at all I had their Seafood combo comes with shrimp, Mussels, squid, clams along with tomato sauce or white garlic sauce. Also I ordered their garlic bread which was soft and had a good garlic flavor . This place is very busy we got there around 5:45pm and the take out orders didn't stop. Limited dine in table are available. One of the co- owners gave us complimentary spring roll because he felt bad because someone in our party wanted to order some spring rolls but all they had was 2 orders . So we got to try their spring roll which was good and full of fillings . Next time I would definitely try their specialty's Lasagna it looked good my brother in law had it and he ate the whole thing . Support local read more

Had dinner with friends at Fratelli Express last night with friends. This is not a full service restaurant. As the name implies , this is a grab and go. They have some tables to dine in. You order at the counter, and in our case, the food was brought to our table. Overall, the group liked what they ordered. I had the lasagna, which I thought was very good. They didn't skimp on the ricotta cheese. I like the fact that it was not smothered in sauce. The sauce was surrounding the lasagna. I also ordered the side Ceasars salad. The people were nice. Location was convenient and portion size was decent. Got the carbonara and lasagna and mozzarella cheese sticks. The carbonara flavor was ok but was weird to have onions in the sauce. Their cheese sticks were pretty standard cheese sticks. Wish they would have put marinara sauce in it as a dipping sauce cause the sauce they included wasn't good. It was a strange sweet sauce. The lasagna was good. read more
The word gets around. When Paesano in Manoa abruptly closed earlier this year in February, a whole bunch of us went to support them to eat their delicious food one last time. Fast forward several months. Auntie (aka Nadine C.) sent me a notification advising some staff from Paesano Manoa got together and opened up Fratelli Express (FE) in May 2024. She's been spending a lot of time recently in West Oahu and came across FE. I read several reviews posted by her and Irene M., which created a buzz where a handful of foodies agreed to come here for dinner in early-July. Step in Judy C., who also knew former Paesano Manoa employees opened FE and suggested our foodie group to also come here but in late-June. I didn't have the courage to tell her I already had plans to dine here so I didn't object. Just gotta love summer break and GPS. It only took me 20min from my home in town to make it here, deep in Waipahu. I was the first one in our group to arrive and shortly after surveying the restaurant from the outside, Judy C. and her hubby pulls into the parking lot. After all members arrived, we settled on a long table and after observing the foot traffic, we realized you need to order your food at the counter, pay for it and then settle at a table. I pretty much had decided to get their lasagna but the friendly female staff advised us that they now offer a combo of 1/2 lasagna and 1/2 of your choice of a chicken pasta dish. I was sold on this. I also inquired if their salad dressing is the same pink vinaigrette but was advised FE house dressing is different so I also ordered a house salad with shrimp. We used the waiting time catching up with each other as it has been months since we last saw each other. After our food was delivered to us, we took turns snapping photos and it was finally time to dig in. THE VERDICT: FE Italian fusion food was different from what I've had at Paesano. First of all, the food is presented to you in takeout boxes and the flavors l found to be distinct. My combination plate of Lasagna and Chicken Basilio was a generous portion and delicious. Loved the ricotta cheese in the lasagna - - very tasty. I added shrimp in my house salad but the shrimp was topped in my chicken pasta. Regardless, it was delicious. The chicken still had the crunchy exterior as I cut into it. The house dressing was amazing. I appreciated the assorted greens were still crisp which also had arugula for that peppery bite. Our group also had garlic bread and spring rolls to share which were both equally delicious. Complimentary water is also provided and it's BYOB. Service was outstanding. Staff took the initiative to check up on us and even provided plastic bags for our leftovers. Overall, a great first experience at FE where I am looking forward to my next visit with other foodie friends. I'll most likely order the lasagna combo again but with a different chicken pasta.
