Our meal came with a few appetizers but we had salad, garlic bread, baked clams (too soggy), hot peppers and mushrooms, and mozzarella and tomato. We shared the zuppa di pesce with linguine. We were in heaven minus the clams. The breads they had were sooooo yummy (carb overload) and there were plenty of everything in the zuppa di pesce. Came here on a Sunday night with my husband for dinner, and while we had high hopes it was somewhat disappointing. Service was good, we were given bread and salad almost immediately and the eggplant in olive oil was absolutely a favorite of mine. The salad was well dressed. I ordered one of their specials for the night which was the ravioli alla bandiera, which consisted of 6 pieces of ravioli covered in pesto, alfredo, and marinara sauces in the style of the Italian flag. It was a really cool concept but the dish honestly could've been better. The alfredo sauce in particular was separating a bit. The corner edge of my plate was also a little dusty which I didn't discover until I'd already begun eating. Luckily it was far enough away from my food that I wasn't too bothered to continue eating. It was still disappointing though. My husband was also pretty underwhelmed by his dish, penne and broccoli. Overall, the experience was just okay. Fratelli's has had a warm spot in our families hearts for over two decades, especially as my mother in-law frequented the place regularly including many gatherings, parties in addition to dinners she hosted/attended. Fratelli's was our go-to restaurant for many Mother's Day holidays, my wife to he's wedding party and many other memories over the years. Yesterday, we hosted a luncheon reception for my mother in-law at Fratelli's as she had passed away this past Wednesday morning. There would be no second choice for the right venue for this event to take place. Ulysses and the owner Louie could not have been better hosts. For our party of about 80 people, they proved to be flexible, nimble and served a delicious meal that disappointed nobody. Everything came out at once. Everything was hot. Every whim was attended to. We'll continue to frequent Fratelli's despite my mother in-law being gone. It'll never be quite the same for us in her absence but will forever be dear and remind us all of her. read more

I was craving Italian food, and wasn't sure where to go in the neighborhood. I was surprised when I searched Yelp and Fratelli's was the first to pop up. I've heard great things about Fratelli's for years, and I finally got the chance to try the food for myself (especially since it's 5 minutes away), I'm crazy for not trying it sooner! For starters, we had the Clams Oreganata. Amazing! I love a little lemon juice with my clams but it was delicious with the lemon and without. As an entree, I ordered the Gnocchi Sorrentino and my boyfriend got the Lasagna. We're huge pasta lovers, and they were both to die for! I've had gnocchi before in a simple tomato sauce or meat sauce, but never in this fashion. It was a spin on it that I wasn't ready for, and it was delicious. Definitely the only place I'll be coming to when I crave gnocchi again. To end the night, I had to get a dessert. The creme brûlée was delightful, and we also split the fried cheesecake. I regret not being more of a yelper and getting pictures of the food to share with you all because of how amazing it was. Fratelli Italian Restaurant has been a neighborhood favorite for over 20 years and with good reason! From the time you enter, you feel like you went home to moms for dinner with a warm atmosphere, generous bread platter with different types including a delicious onion bread complete with seasoned oil, butter or eggplant compote! And even though it was pretty busy the service was good! I was very happy to see they had a lunch special of $13.95 or $15.95 with soup added to a large selection of entrees! And even though it was 4pm, they honored the special! Our waiter brought a table house salad to start. And we ordered an appetizer of fresh, creamy mozzarella, tomatoes, red peppers and olives. I loved my soup, special of the day, of Swiss chard, chunks of sausage, white beans and rice! The soup was a meal in itself and seasoned so well! I would go back just to have this soup again! Of course, chicken parmignia and penne was ordered by my CP connoisseur. He gives a thumbs up and liked the large portion. My entree was very good but very rich and I could only eat a quarter of it! The butternut squash raviolis with sliced apples, walnuts and a Gorgonzola sauce. I think it would have been better with less or a different sauce. It was more like a dessert than entree. Again, very good but just too rich! The only thing that disrupted an otherwise nice dining experience, was a very rude diner at another table that not only had many calls on his phone, but also had it on speaker and spoke loudly. Now this was not the restaurants fault, but I think the waiters should have addressed it especially after complaints were made. All in all a nice restaurant and many, many loyal customers! My wife and I eat at Fratelli's regularly. It is by far our favorite Restaurant. The food is consistently excellent. The Pork Chops Fratelli is particularly delicious. Had a pretty disappointing time there this past Saturday evening. We got the worst waiter (only waiter dressed in jeans and a polo shirt) who basically ignored us the entire evening. We asked for a white wine and were told it wasn't cold, it hadn't been put in the refrigerator. WE had to suggest he put it in an ice bucket and put another one in the freezer. At one point he was seated with another waiter on a bench next to the entrance. When we finished our meal he NEVER came over to ask if we wanted coffee or dessert. The food was great. You start off with salad and bread. Portions were tremendous, we all took home leftovers. My boyfriend ordered the ossobuco, it was tender and huge. He enjoyed it immensely. I had escarole and beans, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The staff, I just can't say enough. We were a group of 4, loud. The waiters, Mario and Ullyses were wonderful, they laughed and joked with us, were not uptight like you find in some restaurants. The bussers very friendly as well. I have eaten here before and always has been good. Today I came for lunch with my Uncle who has been in the hospital for a month. He had a Dr. Appointment nearby and my husband who also has been going there for years said lets to to lunch. We ate everything from the bread to the salad and the main lunch. The portions are huge, so you'll certainly never leave hungry and without leftovers that will be just as delicious tomorrow. I'm a fan of the fetticine alfredo and the chicken marsala. We hosted an event here and overall, good experience. Yummy food, and friendly, attentive staff. Only downfall I'd say is that we had the space starting at 12pm and staff literally showed up about 5 minutes or so to open up the restaurant doors. That was worrisome for us as we were hosting approximately 40 people and wanted to make sure all was set. Moving forward, they should be open at least 30 minutes beforehand. Also, if you are looking for more of a private space for an event, this may not be the place for you. Our event was hosted in the same space as the rest of the restaurant even though everything ended up working out fine. The potato croquettes were ok, I would eat them again if they were put in front of me, but I would opt for the pasta next time. My mom ordered the lasagna and I stole a bite of it. It's how I've grown up eating lasagna. It was delish. My fiancé had sesame crusted salmon which was pretty tasty as well. We were a party of 6 and let me tell you when the bill came I was shocked at how low it was. Drinks (alcoholic), appetizers and main entrees the bill was under $200.00.
