Go to the fish guys - the family that owns Randazzo's has salt water in their veins. They even publish a year-end recipe guide with tips on making the most amazing seafood dishes at home. Always super fresh, super friendly, consummate professionals. Ask them for advice, guidance or have them prep the fish any way you like. Staff is standing by to clean, cut, fillet. They pack with ice so you never have to worry about fish on a warm day or the drive home. Highly recommend a visit to Little Italy in the Bronx, and a stop here. read more

Did a little self guided food tour of the stores of Artur Avenue this past Saturday morning with a bunch of friends and this was our seventh stop. Once one of my friends finished purchasing some fish to bring home for dinner, we all bellied up to their outdoor stand for some clam and oysters on the half shell. The owner even brought out some raw tuna for us to sample. Delicious. read more

Great place for seafood! Hubby heard about this place when he was watching The Kitchen with me :p You can have some fresh oysters, clams and shrimp cocktail outside of the storefront. This is one of those places that truly makes you appreciate that you live in the Bronx and NYC. Randazzo's has been around for nearly 80 years, and you can tell that it is an establishment that takes a lot of pride and joy in what they are doing. On previous strolls on Arthur Ave, I remember walking by the clam bar outside and thinking that I needed to give it a try. Once I heard from a friend of a friend that the clams on the half shell at Randazzo's weren't to be missed, I knew I had to take that next opportunity. I do believe these were the best clams on the half shell I've ever had. They were expertly shucked by a very nice guy who was friendly and shared with me that he had been working there since the late 1980s. That is also saying something right there. The prices can't be beat, and I truly hope Randazzo's is around for years to come. I already can't wait to come back! read more

It's the little Italy in the city but it's in the bronx (thank God for Arthur ave), every now and again I get in my moods for some raw clams and is a must that I get them from this spot. My husband recently purchased some salmon, shrimp, and lobster from this place. He insisted on getting the food from here because his father has been going there for years. Even made a special trip to the Bronx for it. The lobster was a bonus surprise just for me. We didn't have it for more than 24hrs and kept it refrigerated per the instructions provided, and on my first site of the lobster meat I thought something was wrong but took a chance and immediately regretted it. It was rancid! Took everything in me to not throw up the second I tasted it. I despise wasting food or money and the lobster was both. ..a waste of food and money. The entire container went straight in the garbage. I was hesitant to even try the salmon and shrimp after that, but for what he paid I couldn't fathom just throwing it away. But even just looking at those items it was clear they were fresher than the lobster. If it wasn't for the fact that we couldn't get back to the Bronx for a few days, I wouldn't have risked eating any of it and would have bought it all back! He might, because he's a creature of habit, but I won't be eating anything from this establishment ever again. read more

Marrone! The side walk raw bar. Clams were so fresh and flavorful. The quality of the raw bar is better than most 4 star restaurants not joking! and half the cost. Next time I'm back I'm coming with a cooler to bring home the fresh seafood. read more

Sadly, I tested positive for ecoli and norovirus (a common stomach virus) after eating here. I thought the food was absolutely delicious and loved the people working here! I had the oysters, clams and shrimp and loved the shrimp so much. I will not be coming back and will be sticking with Cosenza's, which I have had consistently for about a year with no issue. read more

Simply the best fish. Astoundingly fresh. Many hard to come by fish from the Mediterranean Sea. Langoustines, sepia, baby octopus, branzino, dorado, fresh anchovy, Spanish mackerel, cockles, manila clams, sablefish, etc.. The store smells wonderfully clean. The care that the brothers put into this business is overwhelmingly obvious. There is no other fishmonger on Arthur Avenue worth considering. The only way to top it is to go to the wholesale market at Hunt's Point. Don't bother with the likes of Fairway or Whole Foods if you have access to a monger like this. The best. Enjoy. read more

Fresh street raw bars, one of the main reasons why my husband and I have been dying to go visit Arthur Ave. We found out about Randazzo's from chowhound and were not disappointed. The oysters and clams were huge and fresh; the sea urchin was delicious. There was something about the overall experience that was really enjoyable. The place was clean, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the seafood was top of the line. We were there on a rainy saturday afternoon and there was no line, but we've heard that there are times when there is a line down the street with patrons waiting for their fresh shucked seafood. We are now addicted and will be returning to visit Randazzo's again. read more

I come to Arthur Ave every year and hit up a few gems. This is one of them. We always bring home oysters to shuck ourselves. All we add is a little lemon juice and they are delicious! Fresh and clean. They have so much more seafood that we've yet to explore. One day! We'll be back next year. read more

Came today to get some seafood for my mother to cook for her Mother's Day and this was my second place I came to. When I come to Arthur Avenue we usually meet here to share a few dozen Blue Point oysters and clams on the half shell. The shellfish outside is served on stand up tables or small sit down tables. The oysters are my favorite. Inside you will find king crab, mussels, clams, calamari, fresh fish, and octopus. I start outside with the oysters and then come inside to buy very fresh fish to cook later at home. read more

Randazzo's is by far my favorite spot in the Bronx. They have the most fresh seafood and friendly staff. Any place you can walk up to a sidewalk raw bar and get a dozen clams on the half she'll for $10 and a beer for $2.50 at the bodega a few stores over is great for me. read more

Great fish market located on Arthur Avenue. During the summer they have a small raw bar set up outside, which is pretty cool. Inside they have a nice selection of fresh fish and various types of shellfish.. There were quite a few that I never even heard of. Definitely a great local business to support. read more

There are few things more wonderful than basking in the bright spring sunshine, feasting on freshly shucked blue point oysters on bustling Arthur Avenue in the Bronx. Randazzo's has some of the best blue points I've ever sampled, salty-sweet, silky and plump. The prices are $15 for a dozen or $10 for 8. If oysters aren't your thing, you can also procure fresh sea urchins and clams at the raw bar. Inside the store, Randazzo's has an impressive variety of fresh seafood on offer. I've developed quite an insatiable appetite for crab legs as a result of watching too many episodes of Deadliest Catch on Netflix, so I picked up a few snow crab clusters at $8.99/lb. In addition to crab, there were many varieties of fish, cuttlefish, octopus, shrimp and more all for very reasonably prices! The staff were extremely friendly and full of very helpful cooking tips! PARTING THOUGHT: I'm going to try a sea urchin next time. Never spooned it directly out of the shell! Sea butter at its freshest! read more

I found it today and boy was I like a kiln the candy store. They have FRESH seafood from all over I found the prawns I was looking really along with scallops in the shell. The lobster was sweet. Fantastical raw seafood store, with a huge range of everything aquatic... shellfish, crustaceans, and all other swimming creatures, tentacled or finned. Some still swimming, all extremely fresh. Great prices as well... 3 lbs of mussels for $5. Lobster on sale of an unspeakable price. Busy shop means high turnover and fresh fare - the place smells like the sea. Randazzo's is an awesome fish market on Arthur Ave. In addition to the selection inside, they have a little raw bar outside that you can stroll up to on a nice day and enjoy fresh-shucked oysters. The day I was here, they were serving blue point oysters, which are big East Coast oysters, similar to James Rivers. They also had cherrystone clams and littlenecks. We ordered a half dozen oysters for $8 (not bad), and the gentleman shucked them for us as we waited. They were served with lemon and hot sauce. While it would have been nice to have some mignonette, I didn't want to be the only guy in the Bronx ever to ask for mignonette, so hot sauce it is. The oysters were pretty decent. Not the best I've ever had, but good. The ambiance of standing around at the bar on a nice day made up for them, though. Inside, they have an amazing amount of high-quality fish products. The gambroni, giant shrimp, looked amazing. Someone I knew once described shrimp at a party he was at as "the size of a baby's arm": these must have been those shrimp. I am totally coming back for them. Anyway, baby's arm shrimp notwithstanding, this is a great place and you should visit! read more

This past Saturday my wife and I enjoyed curbside raw claims, shrimp cocktail and oysters; they were absolutely delicious...as if they were just pulled from the sea!!!!! The staff at Randazzo's are great people who care about each customer regardless of where you're from. Great staff recommendations, lots of fresh seafood choices, laughs and good old fashioned customer services and ethics. Fresh fish and seafood, complete shop with the seafood I wanted; sea scallops, medium size lobster tails, and stone crab claws! Did I say fresh? Perfect, reasonably priced for freshness! The store does not have an overzealous "fishy" smell either. It a stores odor is unpleasant, I can't purchase food there! MmmMmmMMmm...uni or sea urchin, to call it by any other name make it less sweet or delicious? We circled around to get a taste of this delicacy. I've had uni at sushi bars before, but never had one freshly shucked? I know oysters and clams ar shucked but sea urchin in their little spikey shells, what do you call that? Freshly de-shelled with a little bit of lemon made for a taste to get used to, a mix of sweet and salty and tar-like in successive order. They had a stand outside with a good amount of oysters, clams, and sea urchin shucked to order. B urged me to try the sea urchin and I gravely faced the black and tan interor, closed my eyes and let it slide down my throat. I'm not a big fan of Uni but this caused a party in my mouth. Salty, sweet, bitter and tart battled it out and settled down to a dull aftertaste of bitter. This place is really a seafood market with a pretty sizable selection of seafoods that would rival any seafood markets in Chinatown...without the stench! Very clean and well kept, the stands outside are a big plus for some great snacking! Who ever heard of curbside raw bar? awesome~ read more

My friends and I stopped by this outdoor stand to chow down some freshly shucked oysters and clams after having run a 5k charity race at the Bronx Zoo. We also tried out their sea urchin, which was quite tasty. You can't beat two guys shucking oysters to order from a cart outside the seafood store - and the price is unbeatable - 6 oysters for $8. Best fish market in NYC. Attended a cooking class at Eatly on 23rd & 5th and the chef told us to go there for fresh fish. He was right. Everyone at Randazzo's is friendly and helpful. Biggest problem will be deciding over the vast selection. read more

Soft shell crabs, 3 jumbo for $10 - what's not to love?! The fish all looks so fresh, and is nicely priced. The guys are all helpful. From the moment we walked in, it was all that I wanted- reminiscent of the Italian shops and delis my parents would take me to when I was a kid. The ambiance told me right away that the sandwich I sought (the 'Casa') was going to be good....as did the two guys in line ahead of me, one who went so far as to say it would be life changing. Service was great- super helpful and patient as we perused the counter. Wanting to be thorough () we ordered two Casa's....one on Ciabatta, and one on a hero. First off....both bread vehicles were incredible. The hero was crunchy on the outside, perfectly soft on the inside, while the ciabatta was perfectly thin (allowing you to fully enjoy all of the fresh, delicious ingredients), with a golden crust. Just perfect. Oh yeah- the ingredients.... The Casa is filled with perfectly sliced prosciutto, house made mozzarella, sun dried peppers, and balsamic glaze. The balsamic tied everything together beautifully and was a wonderful touch to the sandwich, while the mozz....well...I'll say this... If you ask 10 people on Arthur Ave who makes the best Mozzarella around, and a good number of people are going to tell you it's Casa Della. And I'm here to tell you that their Mozzarella is the truth. It's delicious, creamy, flavorful...it's the kind of stuff that will have you standing in front of the establishment, Casa in hand (and mouth) without a care in the world, or whether or not people are staring at you while you scarf or down. It's that good. Also- prices are extremely reasonable, and you receive a ton of value for your dollar. Casa Della Mozzarella is not just the Casa. They are a fully loaded market and deli, loaded with everything you need, whether for a quick lunch on the go, or to supply dinner or your fridge at home. This time I came early around 8:30 Am. I was the third person in line. The store is super small especially at the ordering area. There's only small space for one person to stand so it's very difficult to exit while there are people behind you. I highly recommend coming here early before the crowd.

I see the various pastas and ravioli but I want the big suckas. Small ravioli? C'Mon! I made the best red sauce that I will drown these raviolis in a sea of tomatoes. The small raviolis just can't swim in my pot! The older gentleman behind the counter asks if he can help me. I ask him to open the box and actually show me the larger ravioli. Oh baby, they are large and in charge. Why I walked out with one box still boggles my mind because I should have bought 3. I'm not in the area too often and the extra boxes would have carried me through the winter. I hand over my cash and the gentleman says God Bless to me. I'm not getting blessings on Long Island! The carrot cake was soft and the crunchiness of the walnuts complimented the texture well. I wish the cake was a bit more moist or fresh but the flavors were definitely there and the cream cheese frosting was so balanced yet decadent. Good try!
