We arrived in Kingston at dinnertime hungry but unsure what to eat. I looked on Yelp after parking in downtown, but was still unsure. My girlfriend & I needed to use restroom and popped in a hotel. We asked the front desk recommendations. She recommended Dianne's very close walk. We ate outside. It was balmy for Kingston in early June with temps in the 70's F around 8 PM; their average high temp in early June is only upper 60's F (around 20 C). Our server was friendly. She said people are enjoying the first really warm evening of the season. We both got their fish n' chips. It's an Alaskan Pacific haddock as opposed to cod or others used. This is superior to other fish n' chips I've had. This is delicious. Fries were good too, but the fish was the real star and about the best fried fish I've had.

As we walked there, I checked on Yelp what would be a good place to go, and Gangnam Style popped up as number one. Having walked around a few blocks on Princess Street already, it was clearly the only restaurant that was packed. Between seeing how busy it was and the Yelp rating, I thought it was worth giving it a try. We walked in, and waited a couple of minutes for them to clear and clean a table for us. Nothing noteworthy about the look of this place, but it was clearly full and doing good business even at 4:00pm in the late afternoon. We ended up trying the following: - Cheese Grilled Teokbokki: Very good. Sometimes I find teokbokki drenched in sauce, but they go easy here, which was a nice. - Bulgogi Soup: Good. Tasted great and good portion size. - Boneless Korean Fried Chicken (Honey Butter): Good. We ordered a half size which is more than enough to share among a family of 4. Chicken was tender and skin maintained it's crisp. Honey Butter was good, but the chicken was drowning in it as there is so much sitting on the bottom of the basket. - Dolsot Bibimbap: Good. Sometimes the hot stone doesn't get hot enough to crisp the rice, but thankfully, it's done right here. Service was ok. It feels very much like a family business, so staff are friendly and polite enough, but their main focus is just keeping service running because they are so busy. Overall, a pleasant surprise. I'd definitely consider returning here next time I'm in Kingston. Don't recall how many orders I did but they definitely do not make you wait for ordering more shrimp. Our server kept coming back asking what our next shrimp order was going to be. The shrimp isn't anything amazing but it's just pretty good overall. Absolutely gorgeous flavour that tastes like really fresh clementine juice. We got a dozen East Coast oysters to enjoy. Each were beautifully plump, fresh, and a lovely flavour. It has fried shrimp, scallops, calamari, lemon and caper berries with caper-tarragon aïoli. I don't know if you're meant to eat the lemons and carpers too but I did and it was so delicious. Inside this humble establishment the decor was pleasantly moderate . The welcome was quite friendly. We ordered the love boat and Gypsy. The love boat is mixed sushi and sashimi and was delicious.
