Breen's just keeps getting better and better. I think the owner reads these posts and listens to his customers. However he manages to finds ways to improve doesn't make a difference. What matters is that he and his staff do. No need to drive out of town to find a good breakfast joint. Breen's Diner is filling that long vacant slot in town. Overall a nice little restaurant. My husband ordered the typical two eggs, home fries and toast. He really enjoyed it. Everything cooked to perfection. I ordered the Texas Style French Toast. It was very good. Syrup was a little blah. No real flavor to it. Home fries are made fresh not frozen, which I prefer. Coffee was okay. Service was excellent. Very clean. Great music playing. Great little diner in a very out-of-the-way location. If you are ever out for a drive in the middle of Massachusetts and get a hankering for some diner food, this place would do you well. I had the Irish Benedict, which was excellent, with real home-made corned beef hash. read more

This place is me and my boyfriend's all time favorite breakfast spot. The staff is so friendly and always attentive. The Big Bopper is my boyfriend's favorite and comes with a bunch of breakfast must-haves including pancakes (or french toast), eggs, breakfast meat of your choice, toast, and homefries. My go-to (although I have explored the menu which everything is pretty good) is the Veggie Omelette. The eggs are always fluffy, and stuffed with cheese of choice and mushrooms, peppers, onions and spinach. The omelette takes up half the plate and the other half is filled up with homefries and a side of toast. PRO TIP: order the corned beef hash! It is homemade and amazing! I usually always get a side of it. If you're somehow not a breakfast person, they do have a lunch menu. The decor is great- it is styled up to have a 50's diner look. Hi my name is jerryfitzgerald i live in pepperell. It has been awhile since i have been to breens but they really spruced the place up new displays all in the 50s decor. Its like going back in time like the show "Happy Days" jeff the owner & the head chef loves to cook & he always takes the time off to say hi to every single customer that enters into his diner. Jeff is very friendly & he knows everyone by name because he cooks his food very well & takes extra steps to make your food look likes a 5 star restaurant. Going into breens is like going into the show "cheers" Where everyone knows your name.the staff is very polite and very friendly with a great sense of humour, they really enjoy working there. I would recommend breens to stop in talk to jeff the head chef and a really friendly person. He introduces himself to you, says he is the owner and the head chef, he asks how your food came out and if he does not know you he asks where are you nice folks from, ect. I had friend from the phillipinnes join me there and they loved his great food as i introduced my friends to him. He welcomed them as though they were his regular customers. Been here for breakfast several times now. The food and service are always great. Ashley and the girls go a long way to make you feel valued as a customer. The owner / chef pops out of the kitchen when he can to thanks people for coming in and make sure the food meets expectations. The atmosphere is warm and home like. It's a small little place with roughly 10 tables and a roughly 15 seat bar seating. The decor matches Pepperell's past as a 50's mill town. The pancakes are large, light, and fluffy. Unfortunately not real syrup but most places don't offer that. Eggs, omelets, and home fries are great. Breakfast sandwiches are delicious. read more

I go here for breakfast sometimes. The service is usually quick although it does get a bit crazy on weekends. I think the food is very good. I like the fact that they include home fries with your meal (not everyplace does) and they give refills on ice coffee. My only negative comment would be the omelettes have almost too much egg (if that makes sense). read more

Not impressed, if I could give "0" stars I would. 2 breakfast took well over an hour and a half the pancake was to thick and raw on the middle, the poached eggs had raw egg whites, and on my wife's dish they sent the wrong type of eggs. Only 2 breakfast dishes come with meat and my side of bacon was 2 lousy slices. They had great maple syrup. They say there an authentic 50's diner however thet did not have plastic ketchup bottles and "no refrigeration needed" creamers in the 50's. Its to bad they removed the authentic 50's milk fridge and coffee maker before they opened. Did not enjoy the blond boy running around bossing the waitresses around either. If they get the chaos out of thier kitchen I might try again but I doubt it! The word is the owner is not good to his employees he pays under the table so he can skirt wage lawsn breaks, and taxes. His savings does not reflect in the very high prices. My advice have a bowl of cereal at home for breakfast and with the money you would have spent at Breens go to dinner at a nice restaurant it will probably be cheaper! read more

It pains me to say this because this was one of our favorite places to go for lunch from work here in Hollis. The sandwiches, fish, and burgers were fabulous, (however never liked the bacon), so was the service. However, we only have 1 hour for lunch. The past 3 times we have had to wait more than 30 minutes for our order. One time the milk was sour. This most recent time an order placed for eggs, pancakes and a burger took 40 minutes. We took burger and pancakes to go. We were disappointed but we had to return to work. The cook came out and apologized, but we were regulars always in there, once or even twice a week. One would think....take half off the order at a minimum. But no discount given. Then when I got back to work and took a bite out of my burger....gristle! And it was in every bite thereafter until I couldn't eat it any more. I'm so sorry, but I hope you step up your game soon. Disappointed faithful customers. read more
