Got the chicken gyro platter, but it was a little dry and disappointing. I thought it would be like the chicken souvlaki chunks like how it comes on the stick, except in platter form over rice and salad but it was the shaved meat, not the chunk on souvlaki stick meat. So it was kind of dry and by the time I walked it home maybe 5-10 mins out, it got cold. Also they put a white sauce over top, which also I wasn't expecting. It was dressed almost like a halal chicken over rice, but it wasn't halal but it tasted like that white sauce. Maybe I went with the wrong dish. I've had the souvlaki meat sticks at other times, and it's been good. I think it depends on the timing though because one time I got the chicken sticks and they were cooked perfectly, tender, flavorful and not burned, which I like. Other times, it's been burned on the edges, which I don't like, so I have to pick the burned parts off. Maybe I should specify don't burn it at all next time. The service is nice and prices are reasonable, and it's a food truck, but it's been a little hit or miss in my experience.

I've only ever ordered the pork souvlaki from here. It's so juicy, tender, and flavorful every time! It's quick service and friendly enough but don't be expecting to be chit chatting with the guys there the whole time because they're always busy! Which is a good thing! It's a food truck and it's outside on steinway so there is not really an ambience. There are a few seats and tables where they park by the banana republic factory store. I always get it with everything on it lemon juice, oregano, bbq and hot sauce. So damn good, ugh.

Craving souvlaki so made a trip back to my old neighborhood for some delicious platters and skewers from our favorite food truck. We had the lamb and chicken souvlaki and they were fresh and well seasoned to satisfy our cravings! Service was friendly and fast!

My go to Souvlaki truck and favorite one as well! Best in Astoria Queens! Always ask for more hero bread..you can never have enough bread!! Rain, snow or sleet this place is always a great place to have a quick bite and has great customer service! They're also located in different parts of Queens so that also comes in handy!

Can always count on Franky's to hit the spot with one of his souvlaki sticks. The simple lemon and oregano is a go to. They're made quick and always have a ready bunch so you almost have no wait. Gotta stop for one if you walk on Steinway Street or the nearing blocks, once you have one you'll see why his truck is the best.

I have to say that our meal was delicious. We ordered delivery which I've never had from this location. I've only ate at this spot on site a few years ago. They are really generous with the portions that they give. I was very pleased that they gave a lot of sauce. The reason they lost one star is because our drinks were not sent. Definitely get the lamb platter or the chicken platter. Just know you need to ask for a pita if you want that added. I will definitely eat here again the next time I am in the area. The meat in both platters were juicy as ever. I expected our meal to be dry due to delivery, boy was I wrong. But definitely listen to the other yelpers they are more expensive for delivery.

We actually had gyro sandwiches at their lunch truck in Astoria years ago. Today after a museum visit I was pleasantly surprised to see the truck at Lexington and 87th. I decided to give my son a little treat so I ordered a $10 chicken gyro pita sandwich. It wasn't busy so the guy took a while prepping and at the same time exchanged some pleasantries in the process. In the end it was time to pay for the food. I asked if he takes credit card, he said yeah. He took my card, swiped it, gave it back to me, and said you're all set. I was a bit taken aback because I didn't see the amount charged nor the opportunity to sign or specify tips. But I wasn't assertive enough to ask. A few days later I saw my credit card statement and found out I was charged $13.50 - a 35% premium! I thought that was outrageous. If the surcharge is this much he should have warned me and there should be a sign posted somewhere on the truck. I thought that was sneaky and dishonest.

WOW! I bought this back home to Brooklyn and the souvlaki was still juicy!!! I would love to enjoy my souvlaki while it was fresh, but I just had lunch before coming. I loved the charred on my meat and it was super good. I had 3 with lemon and oregano and 1 with bbq sauce. They were busy so I think my order was messed up but it was still delicious. This truck has beef and lamb too, while most places offer chicken and pork only. They had tables and chairs set up as well. The service is also super friendly.

Franky's Souvlaki is a, if not the, staple food truck near Broadway-Astoria and for pretty good reason. The service is snappy, food good quantity and quality, and it covers a wide gamut of options. Cheap kebabs? 4-5 bucks. More substantial meals? 10-12 bucks. I wouldn't say the food is so incredibly delicious it warrants it by itself, but the price and convenience go hand in hand. Very solid option for a quick bite

The whole vibe felt warm and made it a really nice family dinner. My grandma and mom both seemed happy and enjoyed everything, which honestly mattered most. We ordered two Greek salads (definitely could've gotten away with just one -- they're huge and very shareable). We also had the Mediterranean spreads: tzatziki, eggplant, and a spicy spread. Everything was solid and great for sharing. We also got grilled octopus as an appetizer -- super tender and really well done. For my main, I had the grilled deboned red snapper -- absolutely delicious. It came with a creamy lemon sauce on the side that you can pour over the fish, plus oregano fries and grilled vegetables. The veggies were amazing, especially the grilled onions that just melted in your mouth. We also ordered takeout: kefte kebab with fries, which was maybe smaller portion but it was good flavor. For dessert we had a baklava float (I think that was the name) with coffees to finish. Very happy with the whole meal overall. Drinks at the bar beforehand were also a highlight -- sangria and a gin, lavender, elderflower, cucumber cocktail that my grandma actually loved.

We started with an assortment of traditional spreads: taramosalata, tzatziki, tyrokafteri, skordalia, and melitzanosalata, all served with warm, pillowy pita. Each one was vibrant and flavorful -- perfect for sharing (or not). Then came the feast: marinated and grilled squid, swordfish steak, red snapper, lamb chops, crispy potatoes, and more sides than we could reasonably justify ordering... but absolutely did anyway. Our waiter thoughtfully asked if we had any allergies. By the end of the meal -- slightly comatose, blissfully full, and having completely lost track of time -- we realized the only thing we might be allergic to is work. We had a salad, with slices of fresh feta, Greek olives even dill, cut nice and chewable. Three of us shared appetizers. Forgot name in Greek but the American version the fried cheese was yummy, then a Branzino cooked to perfection, we had another dish looked like a lasagna with Bechamel' sauce baked 2" thick, that too was delicious, also even though I don't eat meat. An appetizer that was like mashed potatoes with garlic and a plate of lemon potatoes. Haven't had those cooked so well in years. The food just kept coming everything FRESH even the cream pastry with fresh cinnamon! George warmly welcomed us and even let us know that street parking would be free after 7:00 p.m.--a small but thoughtful gesture that set the tone right away. The restaurant had a lively, inviting energy, and throughout the meal, George delivered truly five-star service. He mentioned he's been there over 18 years, and it clearly shows in his effortless, seasoned, and genuinely attentive hospitality. Complimentary bread and water with a generous bowl of fresh lemons arrived immediately, a simple yet appreciated touch. We shared a medium Greek salad and grilled octopus--both outstanding, with the octopus especially tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We even took a few bites before remembering to snap a photo. The salad was served with olive oil and herb-infused vinegar on the side, allowing you to dress it exactly to your liking. For our mains, I ordered the grilled whole porgy, while my husband chose the shrimp spaghetti. The portion of fish was quite generous--I ended up taking most of it home, as I was already satisfied after the appetizers. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his pasta, and after tasting a couple of his shrimp, I completely understood why--it was delicious. To finish, we were each treated to a complimentary piece of galaktoboureko, a thoughtful and fitting end to the meal. Warm hospitality, a vibrant atmosphere, and well-executed dishes made this a truly enjoyable experience. We'll definitely be back.

For the mix grill platter - the sirloin was perfectly seasoned, the beef patties were crumbly and flavorful, and the loukaniko was deliciously charred. However, the chicken skewers were a bit dry and the lamb chops were not as tender as I had expected. Their tzatziki is very mild and bland and their pita bread was on the thinner and harder side. The orzo dish was just okay. The pasta itself was cooked well, but I found the taste to be almost watered down; the beef chunks were also dry and failed to soak up any of the flavor from the tomato sauce.
