CONSUMER AWARENESS: As of 1/2026, Franky's charges a surcharge for ALL card transactions (whether debit or credit). THIS IS ILLEGAL! While they can pass on a surcharge for credit, it is illegal to charge ANY fee on a debit card (Google it). During my visit, I brought this to management's attention. I was advised to tell the owner of the business. I will inform the owner as well as report them to the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. These restaurants are getting out of hand. OAN: My son likes their pizza slices - even though it's expensive for a slice ($5 - no side or drink). I also personally enjoy their strawberry shakes! read more

I sometimes come here on my lunch break when I forget my lunch at home. This place has the best food in the Addison IL area. I usually order a slice of pizza, cheeseburger or a chicken pita. I'm not a hot dog fan but did decide to order one and it was ok. The food is well cooked. I never had any issues with my order not being correct or my food wasn't up to standard. The service is really nice as well. The prices are a bit ridiculous. But they do have specials of the month which are sometimes reasonable. One thing I love is the fresh golden crispy fries. They are cooked to perfection. They make sure to keep this place nice and cleaned. read more

Food is mid, def a bit pricey for their quality. Owners nice & place seems clean. Watch out for the cashier lady I ordered a Gyro salad that was $15.60 and she ended up charging me $16 almost $17 for it plus my drink, spent $20. Wasn't worth $20. read more

Hot dog stand and they have gotten to expensive. To big for their reputation. 11.95 for two hotdogs, fries and a drink...give me a break.

Good place food could be larger amounts for price said part your paying more for your meal using debit it credit 3.9 percent nice for them this should be added to the resturant not customers read more

First time here for my husband & myself. It's a great gyro/burger/ hot dog place in my opinion. Not super cheap but nowhere is anymore. Sunday special is a gyro, fries & a drink for $13.95. 2 gyro specials & 2 pizza puffs was $39 & change out the door. First impression of the gyro was that it was a little small but when I picked it up & tried to bite it, my mind was instantly changed. It was good! Nothing spectacular but very good. Just love the fries!! Fat & cooked to perfection!! My husband really liked the pizza puff (I haven't eaten mine yet). He appreciated that it wasn't overcooked but also not cold inside. Bright with plenty of seating room. Business was steady at 5:00 on Father's Day but not packed. Good to note that the girl taking orders actually came out from behind the counter to wipe down tables & pick up garbage. We'll definitely be back to try more menu items!! read more

The thin crust pizza has a great flavor in the sauce. The bratwurst and hotdog were pretty good. The prices are really good. The service was friendly, and my family really loves the food. read more

We got a steak sandwich and gyro, and it came to about $30. I've been here before, and I really enjoy the gyro. I'm not a fan of the $1 charge for BBQ sauce. When a meal is already $17, why add another charge? Not everyone likes ketchup with their fries, so it shouldn't be an extra cost. Other than that, everything was fine. read more

I ordered a combo (beef & sausage) dipped, dining in. The beef was dry, leathery and cold. The sausage was hot but overcooked, making it dry an crunchy. Their sausages are quite spicy, so be warned. Lastly the bread was barely dipped where the top of bread was still dry. Overall not impressed. $21 for a combo sandwich, regular fry, and regular drink seems a few dollars high, and that was the cash price. Portillo's charges $15 for the same order. I probably would have said something but the guy who took my order was quite rude just taking my order so I figured it wouldn't be worth the hassle. As a resident, I might give them another chance, but will not order the same items. read more

Title: Best Hot Dog Joint in Addison - A Must-Visit! If you're looking for an old-school, no-nonsense, absolutely delicious hot dog and pizza joint, Franky's Hotdogs is the place to be. As someone who has lived in Addison for over 25 years, I can say without a doubt that this spot is a local treasure. I've been coming here since I was a kid, and let me tell you--it's only gotten better with time. I stopped by recently with my girlfriend, and as always, Frankys did not disappoint. I went for the Two Hot Dog Special, and wow--these were some of the best hot dogs I've ever had. Steamed poppy seed bun was absolute perfection. You just can't beat a classic Chicago dog when it's made this well. But I didn't stop there. I saw a fresh slice of pizza just coming out of the oven at the pizza pub, and I had to grab one. Let me tell you--this was pizza done RIGHT. The crust was crispy on the outside but still had a perfect chew, the sauce was balanced with just the right amount of sweetness, and the cheese had that perfect gooey stretch. Seriously, if you come here and don't get a slice, you're missing out. So gosh damn greasy To top it all off, we got our drinks ice cold with free refills. Nothing better than an ice-cold fountain drink to wash down some legendary hot dogs and pizza. The drinks here always taste extra crisp and refreshing, and I appreciate that they let you refill as much as you want. Now, let's talk customer service. If you've ever been to a Dairy Queen drive-thru, you know what I mean when I say super fast and efficient. That's exactly how Franky's runs their shop. No unnecessary delays, no standing around waiting forever--they get your order out quickly and correctly. The staff is friendly, professional, and always on top of things. And for what you're getting, the prices are more than fair. Moderately priced, but the quality is way beyond what you'd expect for the cost. This isn't some overpriced hipster hot dog spot--this is real-deal Chicago-style food at a great price. Now, just to be clear--I have zero affiliation with the owner, I don't know anything about them, and I'm just a guy who has lived in Addison my entire life and knows a damn good hot dog when he eats one. Franky's is the real deal, and if you haven't been here yet, what are you waiting for? This place has been consistently fantastic for decades, and I'll keep coming back as long as they're serving up hot dogs, pizza, and ice-cold drinks like this. I didn't take any photos except of my girlfriend and I'm not sharing it and I use the voice function on my iPhone to write this review 5/5 stars, no question. read more

Average is what i would call this place. But that is not a bad thing, we need more consistant places that serve a good variety of food. Your normal "hot dog/burger" joint that also serves.... pizza. Not a bad place, good prices, just average tasting/quality. read more

I remember going to this place when it was Franky's Red Hots. I spoke to the man behind the pick up area. He said the nephew of the original Franky bought it in 1994 and changed the name to Franky's. Today this business has a second location in St. Charles. The menu seems fairly similar to what I remember it as. Tastes the same too. Now, I'm all grown up and living further west. My husband has visited this place once before and he loved the meatball sub. Today he got the gyro which he and our 3.5 year old shared. I got the steak sandwich. We all shared one medium chocolate shake and a regular order of fries. Total was $28. Not too shabby! read more

Frankie's is HIGH on their prices compared to other local Competitions. He wants $11.00 for 2 stinking Hot Dogs ...Insane when Mickey's 2 Hot Dog Special is only $8.75 and a much better tasting Hot Dog. read more

My review is purely off of customer service. I called to inquire about why the DoorDash prices at double what they are in store, now I understand raising the prices to compete with what DoorDash takes - but a 100% increase is costing you business. I am a stay at home mom, and unfortunately we are a one vehicle household - I'd love to utilize Franky's on days I can't cook, as I just moved to the neighborhood, and it's close- and looks great. But I cannot justify a 100% increase when I'm already paying a premium to use a delivery service. Now I totally understand not taking unsolicited advice, but I've managed another local Dupage county restaurant, and the argument that it is out of their hands is simply just lazy. If they took the time to learn how to use the tablet DoorDash provides, they'd realize they can adjust the 100% markup, which is seemingly a mistake - considering it makes you "add" it to the cart twice. Shows $8.75 on the menu and then when you select it, you have a mandatory selection option of another $8.75 - doubling what you're paying. I know exactly how to fix it, but was met with rude service when I tried to offer my free advice to help increase their business. So I'll spend my money elsewhere! read more

Franky's - The "Size Choice" doesn't need a $$$ option, since $8.75 is the original price before you make the selection and have to pay that AGAIN. - Fast Food Near Me - Addison, Illinois

I eat here all the time. Great food, great service and a fair price. best hot dog/burger place in Addison and it's not even close!

Bad quality overpriced and bad customer service. First and last time. I wish I had read reviews. Portillo 10 times better amANd cheaper

The we ordered the Gyro Special and Beef Sandwich which were cooked perfectly. The fries were piping hot and actually had salt on them so there wasn't that hunt for the salt packets. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and they got our order started right away. Now the prices were a bit on the high side, but everything is getting expensive now so it was still worth it. Inside was extremely clean, there was an employee actively cleaning the tables as soon as someone got up. The sun didn't bother your eyes because of the shades were drawn, but it was plenty bright in there. They have some outdoor seating, but it was too hot and the sun was beating down on them. This place is a definite hit and it surely hit the spot. read more

First they usually get my order wrong and when I called them on it no "I'm sorry" "let me fix this". Ordered 25 hotdogs, when I got the bag appeared light asked Dennis are you sure there are 25 hit dogs in here, he reply's yes!! Got to my car and counted 6 hit dogs. Went back in and not one word of I'm sorry. Imagine my embarrassment if I went back to work with 6 hotdogs. Ordered chicken gyros, no sauce please. Got home both sandwiches loaded with sauce, had to go back to the store for new sandwiches. The stories go on and on and Dennis is always the one there. If it wasn't down the street would never go back, always check order before you leave read more

We ordered the Sunday gryo special which included a gyro, fries, and a drink for $11.95. The service was fast and the food was hot. The staff is very welcoming as well. The only downside I would say is their tzsaki sauce. There is something off about it. I just wasn't a fan. That's all that could be improved. The gyro itself consisted of a tasty and good amount of meat. The prices were fair compared to other surrounding businesses. They offer daily specials every day of the week. I would go back and try more items on their menu. read more

Consistent high quality throughout 20+ years. Great selection of food. Hot dogs, beef, homemade sandwiches, etc.

Their pizza by the slice is not worth it. Got 2 slices recently and the crust was like soggy bread. Almost had to use a spoon to scoop it up. On top of that, the price for one slice of pizza was $4.00. For 2 slices plus tax and their credit card fee, you can almost buy a whole pizza elsewhere. Several years ago, this place had decent pizza at a very reasonable price. For the price they are charging now, I can go to a real pizza place with real pizza crust. read more

Went back this evening and Virgil the manager was working. He let me know the owner addressed my concerns about how I was recently treated. Virgil understood customer service and has been in the business for decades and agreed with my position. I will patronize this location as long as someone other than the manager that doesn't understand customer service or business errors that customer is right 99% of the time. To those customers that may have avoided this business please think about giving another opportunity. read more

I like it here, I go here often. Now you might be wondering... why only 3 stars then? Well, it's funny you should ask. I'm only giving it 3 stars, because the one thing almost everyone gets every single time is made with little to no effort. Fries. With the way the counter is set up, you can see exactly what they're doing -- and not doing. In this case, they precook their fries well in advance and just drop individual orders as you come in. I have no doubt this is faster and less waste for them. However, it makes for a substandard fry. These fries NEVER have enough salt and the primary reason is because fries will only grab hold of that salt immediately after cooking and all they're doing for you is reheating them in the oil. Best advice, ketchup is mandatory on these fries. read more

I've been to Franky's more than I'd like to admit. And it's closer than I wish it was.. But out of everything that Franky's has to offer (they have every fast food imaginable, btw) - the one thing I crave here the most is the Gyro. I'm not sure I've had a better gyro anywhere else. And granted I don't eat them often, but when you get that food flashback of something; a happy one - you never forget it. And that's what this gyro does to me. I LOVE their meat and they give you plenty of it. Always sliced fresh & hot on a soft pita. Yumm. Another fave here; fries. Some days are better than others but if I get em on a great day, their perfect ..like double fried. No other french fry has made this impression on me. Their menu has every fatty shove in your mouth food you could want. Some items are better than others. Burgers are ok, beefs are aiiright. I heard the dogs aren't very snappy. Pizza is meh. No one can really screw up a Pizza puff (though I haven't indulged in ages). The best thing about Franky's has to be the awesome daily specials. People love specials. So if your looking for a deal, they have em. Checkout their website or your mailer. Guys are friendly and place is clean. You'll always see cops parked here..just sayin. The only negative about Franky's? No drive-thru. Sometimes when I shove my face, I'd like it to be convenient too.. Get a gyro! read more

DO NOT go to this establishment. I gave them a try for the first time today and ordered a hot dog that unfortunately was cold. When I called them to let them know he told me there was no way, that it was most likely the condiments and if it was I should play the lottery. He said I don't know what you want me to do, then after being extremely rude offered to give me another hot dog. I just wanted to alert him and didn't want the free lunch but how about some respect? He repeatedly spoke over me and when I said you can't let a woman speak he said no, he had a business to run and hung up. read more
