Here is a place that's easy to drive past not knowing it's there. Tucked in next to a gas station. Passed it numerous times. Finally stopped in. Ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich. Not sure you can call it cheesesteak. It's spicey, messy,and delicious so have your napkins ready. Also ordered Cajun fries. They have various cheesesteak sandwiches on the menu. Charley's is a definite must try in the cheesesteak game especially if you download the app to take advantage of the points & rewards/coupons. I know I know, it's a chain but you can't go wrong with consistency & Charley's is definitely known for that. I like the 2/$10 coupons in the app & the point accrual rewards for a discount on your purchase. I have been patronizing them more lately as they have been popping up new locations all over Chicagoland but this particular one(located in the same lot as a gas station) is my go to as the Drive-Thru is definitely convenient. I love wings but I am going to pass at Charlie's next time. I was halfway through a few wings and I ran out of blue cheese. Their portions of blue cheese was way too small. The price is way too high. I love Rosati's and Lombard. Their wings are fantastic you get 12 for the same price as six at Charlie's. They were tasty however the price is way too high in the portion of blue cheese was too small. And I'm allergic to potatoes and they put potatoes in the package. read more

Place is small, it reminds me of a small dinner you would see on the side of the road when your driving thru a small town. Service was friendly and checked my Id when I picked up to make sure it was me. The sandwiches were loaded and hit the spot! So much meat and the cheese was so tangy and the bread was warm soft. I ordered the traditional cheesesteak and it was excellent - the bread was fresh and the meat melted in my mouth. The fresh lemonade was amazing. The staff was super friendly. There are several tables and a counter you can sit at for dine-in eating, but they also have a drive through. This place is right on North Ave - it's kinda hard to spot, but worth the effort.
