Imagine ordering for pickup, coming in 15 minutes after placing the order expecting it to be ready, for the store to be locked and the order to not be ready, to then being sent away for 20 minutes once someone comes back, only to come back and for your order to not be started. Well that's exactly what happened at this Jimmy John's location here in Bensenville. Ricardo is terrible, possibly giving me the worst overall experience at a quick service restaurant, screams unprofessionally managed. I would question the cleanliness of their establishment and the food quality. I place an order around 10:55AM for ASAP timing for two sandwiches and visit the store closer to 11:10AM to pickup my order. The door is locked and there is no one to be seen. I call the store and a few minutes later Ricardo comes to unlock the door. I request for my food and Ricardo falsely claims my order was a scheduled order for 1:30PM, not even asking my order name or such. He said to come back in 20 minutes. I leave and come back 20 minutes later and Ricardo is preparing some catering order. After telling him that's not my order, and showing him the details of my order, that it was placed for asap timing, he apologies and offers me a 2.99 fountain drink as compensation. At this point it's been over 40 minutes and I have no food. I request for him to just give me a refund, and if possible any other accommodation for the time wasted. He says a refund is all he can offer and rudely tells me to get out the store. read more

This Jimmy John's is so inconsistent and I'm upset this is the one that is automatically chosen for delivery to my work. I've ordered from here multiple times thinking it may be a better experience but nope. I went into the store once and they told me my order didn't exist and only after pestering did they locate the order ticket. Once I ordered and they took 1.5 hours to deliver. Another time I ordered and my sandwich literally came with only lettuce and cheese, when I called the store I was told to order again online and I told them I wouldn't be paying for another sandwich- they delivered a new one free of charge but come on. Today I just ordered a beach club and they put literally a drop of avocado on the sandwich, and this sandwich is supposed to have double meat, had maybe 1 slice of turkey and barely any lettuce. Basically a slim. The sandwiches are also always thrown together carelessly, like come on just do your damn job correctly, where else do you have to be. Probably one of the worst Jimmy John's locations and at this point I would rather waste my lunch break by driving to the next one instead of trying to be convenient and order from this one. Last time I ordered , the girl was so rude and REFUSED to add cheese on my daughters slim sandwich and made us order a full size sandwich with none of the toppings. Almost doubled the price of the sandwich for a slice of cheese Ridiculous. Then after everything it was close to 30 bucks with delivery. Today my daughter is sick so I decided to try it again. Asked the guy to PLEASE SLICE the pickle for me. He was like nah we can't do it. I said since when ? He said he'd only cut it in half or quarter it. Ridiculous ! Turns out the delivery guy looked at our neighbor's address, 748, and decided our address was incorrect and went back to the JJ store. Our address is 746... literally 1 door down from 748. It's a Jimmy John's, so really, what can you judge it on? Well, the place is clean -- super clean the early evening we went, because it was so dead the two employees were cleaning everything in sight! They got our sandwiches right, which is not saying a lot since they weren't complicated. The bread was just a wee bit stale-tasting, but still had sufficient tastiness. My veggies were all fresh and the tomatoes were reasonably red for April. Service was friendly but basic -- no extra mile or extra smiles. We came, we ate, we left. The end. As a side note, this little strip mall is fascinating to me. Much of the Irving Park stretch of Bensenville is rather run-down looking or being knocked down. This strip mall is nice and shiny and new-looking, with a JJ, a fish & chicken place, Chinese, a Polish deli and a tacqueria all in the same little shopping center. Jimmy johns you really sunk to a whole new low in your hiring process today. On my lunch break I went to the bensenville Illinois location on 466 e Irving park road bensenville il. I ordered a simple sandwich -veggie . When I get back to work to eat it and I bit into it it scratched the roof of my mouth - it was hard as a rock and completely crispy burned on the underside . I called in and asked to speak to the manager he said his name was Chris and told him I was given a hard and burned sandwich - he very rudely asked "what do you expect me to do about that " I told him it was so hard it scratched my gums " he said well I'm not going to give you another sandwich because if I gave everyone a sandwich that complained I wouldn't make any business" I said that was simply unacceptable and I asked who his regional or market manager was . He then changed his manerism. He asked where I was which was on route 83 and foster 1 mile away from the location. I told him I wanted a new sandwich and didn't want this one but I couldn't bring it in since my lunch was now going to be over. He literally and I quote said "well only if you bring it in I will squish the ingredients out of it Into a new bread " I was appalled said absolutely not and that someone needed to bring me a new sandwich and I will gladly give the old sandwich with one bite missing . Again I said I was working and could no longer go back . I asked very nicely as I was starving and could please bring it to me . He said okay but only if you give me the old one so I can show the employees what a bad sandwich looks like. I agreed . 1 hour 15 minutes later I call back asked for him by name Chris and was told he was gone for the day . I told him I had been waiting .they said he went to look for me and couldn't find me . The current delivery driver is too busy with orders and isn't coming to my area so far of 1 mile away . So they refuse to bring my sandwich, refuse to give a refund at this point. I'm starving , I no longer have a lunch break and have been completely disrespected and disregarded . I go in after work at 615 and am told by May that she was just instructed to make a new sandwich if I brought the new one . I handed her my sandwich and asked for a refund, she refused said no one on shift is authorized to make decisions and Chris specifically said to give only a sandwich. They either take forever (an hour or more), forget items, make the wrong food or leave ingredients off, or it is so hard and old that you need a jackhammer to crack the bread! I live a few blocks away from this location and have never had a bad experience. The service has always been very good and the sandwiches are fresh and delicious. Will generally stop at this location every two to three weeks to pick up just one sandwich for myself, but have picked up several when heading out on a road trip....yes, they are more expensive than some of the chain sub shops but not as expensive as the same sandwich from a true deli. This location has always been clean and tidy and the service has been fast and polite. The parking lot is small but cars are constantly coming and going, thus you do not have to wait long for a space to open up. read more

When I pointed out that my order was not correct, the guy the rang me up jumped in and grabbed the receipt from the guy making my order and said this is what you ordered. I told him that it was not correct. He said yes it is and went back to sit down in the lobby and eat. My order was corrected by the manager but I will never be back. This guy was rude and ruined my future visits to this store. He may have had a bad day but I will not be back. In my opinion , this is the best sub sandwich chain there is. There aren't alot of choices as far as meat goes , and no non sandwich choices short of Chips and cookies. They bake their rolls fresh , and offer wheat and lettuce wraps as healthier alternatives. When I judge sub shops , I judge them primarily on their roast beef. This has among the best medium rare beef I know. I have had the ham sub , but ham is almost exactly the same wherever you go. The oatmeal raisin cookie is great to boot. Jimmy Johns is my sandwich shop of choice. read more
