This review will only be for the weekend Pizza. We have never been, but I kept seeing posts about…read morethe pizza on Sundays. Well, now it is all weekend and we decided to check it out. Driving by it looks like nothing, inside is a large seating area, a bar area and then doors to go to the outside where on the weekends at least there's live music. I took a step outside to get a picture of the pizza oven, what a beauty! I did not know it was the owner, but I asked the guy if I could grab a picture of it and in an Italian accent, he said get a picture from over here you can see inside. Our waitress was very knowledgeable, friendly and fast, And she had some large tables. The pizza was absolutely delicious. I asked the waitress while looking at the menu, I saw that they said some homemade pasta. She told me that they make all their pastas, breads, sauces, and pizza dough on site. We will have to come back and try some other meals, but the wood fired pizza was phenomenal. I had seen this place on the socials, and one time working my way back home when the expressway was shut down...I drove by it, and would've never noticed it if I hadn't known the name. The place is definitely doing the business, but you need to go. It is a hidden gem. One of the better pizzas in the drivable area for sure! The owners are from Italy, need I say anymore. Oh, I almost forgot that they have a nice selection of beers on draft. Seriously, reef donkey for five dollars. It only made the pizza that much better! And the sidenote when you get mushrooms on your pizza, you get a mixture of delicious mushrooms, all fresh, even shiitakes. The red peppers are freshly cut, and the onions are sautéed, which just adds another layer of flavor. And definitely when we go back I am getting some meatball sliders, cause we got meatballs on the one pizza and they were so delicious, just a tender flavorful hold together meatball but not dense! While the food was ok, it seemed like the same old "home cooking" and fried everything that you can get at any diner/sports bar. This time under the new menu was much better. Not only was the ambience improved, the all Italian menu was enticing and the food was well prepared and still reasonably priced. We were seated quickly and our server, Jasmine, took care of us promptly and with a smile. We would have never gone back to the old Hudson Grill, but we'll certainly return to try more of the fine Italian specialties at this new version.

This is their Tuesday special, and it was delicious bringing back memories of a dear friend's mother who would cook the same food at her NJ bodega. I don't know how they make their green beans but they taste great. I think they cook them with some bacon flavoring. Grits were fantastic as usual. I add extra butter to make them a creamy perfection. Their Coleslaw was my only slight disappointment - they lacked some seasoning for my taste buds. All in all another wonderful dining experience at a restaurant that embodies the welcoming country lifestyle. Their Country Store I could spend a fortune in is also part of the Cracker Barrel charm, I hope it never changes!

Unfortunately, our first experience was extremely disappointing. The morning service was rude, and we left feeling like our business wasn't appreciated. We decided to give the restaurant another chance several months later, thinking maybe it was simply a bad day. Unfortunately, our second experience was even more frustrating. We stopped in for takeout, and the same morning employee who waited on us during our first visit was there again. She was rude, extremely slow, and seemed to prioritize customers she believed were going to leave a tip. We were picking up food to go, and the way we were treated made us feel as though our order--and our business--didn't matter. We live nearby and would have loved to have a reliable local breakfast spot, but after two disappointing experiences, we will not be returning to this Denny's. Customer service should not depend on whether an employee thinks they're going to receive a tip. Very disappointing, especially for a location that could have had repeat local customers.
