It was still hard. The catfish tasted like frozen haddock, and It tasted like it was out of a freezer bag. My husband had cabbage rolls. He said they weren't bad, but the sauce was just plain tomato sauce. My husband got up and asked for the check and handed his debit card to the waitress.. She told him that there was a fee for using a card. He asked if there was an ATM, but there was not. The cook took the card from the waitress and just swiped it. UPDATED-- NEVER AGAIN!!!! Now Frank is trying to get my last name for some reason as seen in my photo below but he's now changed the comment to pretend he's some hero for the service industry... Almost feels like a threat. My wife and I watched this whole thing unfold, I did not see the customer berate any server, unless it happened way before Frank decided to go postal. What I did see was a man (who I now know is Frank the owner based on pictures from Yelp) fly right over to the table and start yelling and physically pushing a customers chair while screaming before asking a single question about what was going on. --UPDATE Well to say this place has been going downhill over the last 6 months is an understatement but what my wife and I witnessed tonight is the final straw to make us never step foot in this place again. I don't typically Yelp which is why this is my first review but this was worth signing up for. While I can't say for sure what transpired between a customer and the owner there was a screaming match in the parking lot dining area which started with the owner jumping over a roped divider to physically push the customers chair in what seemed to be an attempt to knock him out of his chair and start an altercation with the customer that was there with a few other people. Can't say for sure what the customers gripe was with the food or service but regardless I've never in all my years of dining seen any staff let alone the owner of a restaurant react the way this character did. Screaming and cursing for the customer to "get the f*ck out!" isn't really the atmosphere I like to dine in. Considering the quality of the food lately, the service and now worrying about being physically assaulted if dislike your meal makes me think Frank may be better suited as a street vendor slinging dogs and kraut or maybe salted Pretzels. Bottom line if you want a poor meal, feel like being overcharged but would like to see an MMA fight between the owner and customer FRANK'S PLACE IS FOR YOU!!! Have a look at some of the owners responses to negative feedback on Yelp and Google and it will be no surprise that he reacted the way that he did in-person and you realize this review is true to form. On top of all this, I spent almost $100 tonight for an appetizer two drinks and steaks that belonged on the bottom of my boot. read more

This place is amazing! From the waitresses, the chefs, the beyond excellent food, to the owners. We made reservations for the porch to celebrate my husbands birthday. They were very busy, so we wondered how long it would be to order and get our meals. There were 4 of us! In a very short time we got our drinks and soon after we ordered, our salads were served. Almost every table was filled, but the waitresses were able to accommodate and give attention to each one. This was our first visit, but we were treated like we were old friends. Our meals were amazing. We loved the presentation as well as everything we ordered. After dinner we had a problem with our car. Very friendly people in the parking lot tried to help with the problem, but the car refused to start. A man from the restaurant (who we later found out was Frank) came over and helped to get the car across the street and into a parking space. He tried to reach several towing businesses, but was unsuccessful. He offered to have someone from the staff take the 4 of us home. He went above and beyond to help us out. They all treated us like we were part of the family! We won't forget our experience and will be back to Frank's again and again. Took my best friend to her favorite restaurant, Frank's Place in Simpson for her 50th birthday dinner and WOW. From the second we walked in, the staff made us feel like VIPs. Warm, attentive service without hovering...exactly what you want for a special night. We started with the fried calamari and shrimp cocktails. Calamari was golden, tender, zero rubbery pieces, and the shrimp cocktail was huge, fresh, and perfectly chilled. Already a win. For mains, we went all out: Ribeye Steak cooked to a perfect medium-rare with a great sear, Rack of Lamb that was tender and seasoned beautifully, Lobster Crab & Seafood Fra Diavolo with just the right kick, and the Crab & Shrimp Spinach Fettuccine was creamy, packed with seafood, and didn't skimp on the crab. Every plate came out hot and every bite was spot-on. Portions are generous, vibe is cozy but still feels special enough for a 50th, and they even helped us make the birthday moment memorable. No rushed tables, no attitudejust great food and genuine hospitality. If you're in Simpson or driving through, Frank's Place is worth the stop. We'll be back with more friends in tow. We recently celebrated my son's 25th birthday here, and it was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was welcoming and perfect for a special occasion--lively without being overwhelming. The staff went above and beyond to make the celebration memorable. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly for our group. It really meant a lot to feel so well taken care of during such an important family milestone. The food was excellent across the board--everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell they take pride in both their menu and service. Overall, this was the perfect place to celebrate such a special birthday. We left with full hearts (and full stomachs!) and will definitely be back. Absolutely horrendous service. We always liked the food and tried to make a reservation for Father's Day. I was put on hold by one girl for 10 minutes. Another girl answered and asked what I needed, I stated I was trying to make a reservation. She put me on hold for another 7 minutes. Then, yet another girl answered asking what we needed, again, put on hold. Finally a man answered, I said I've been on hold for almost 30 minutes and asked if there was anyone that can help me. He snapped at me. Told me he was the only one, cut him self off, said you know what, we have nothing and hung up on me. A shame, but we will never be back. Absolutely disgusting customer service. There is nothing on the menu that isn't good. We have been going there for years. I would recommend Frank's to anyone. They have the best food in the area. The staff is always friendly and always work to accommodate the whatever size party we have coming in. I would say if you are going to have a larger party and going in the later part of the day on a weekend to call ahead and make reservations. read more
