How have I never left a review for Frank's Pizza? I'm your typical former QC resident saying, "I spend a lot of time fantasizing about Frank's Pizza." I started going to Frank's in the mid 1960's and have always loved their pizza. Last night, 4 Oct 17, we had a family gathering with 11 of us. We ordered 4 large pizzas of which 2 were good and 2 of the pizzas had a very severe shortage of toppings on them. Literally, it was hard to tell what kind of pizzas they were. A Landmark! I have been going to Franks since I was a kid & have never been disappointed. Even after moving to Florida, each time I go back to the Quad cities, going to Frank's is a must! (Most times, more than once during my visit). We even order half baked (and freeze) pizzas to take home to Florida & have shared them with our friends (who also have LOVED them!) Frank's has a pizza crust that is like no other~~~amazing! And the sausage is delicious too. The pizza is neither New York nor Chicago style, but rather a unique style of it's own & WONDERFUL! The highlight of this restaurant, and the Bettendorf counterpart, is the crust is consistently excellent. The toppings are alright, though the variety is not outstanding and I do not recall being wowed. The quality is consistent and the sandwiches such as italian beef and the pastas are also good. I LOVE Frank's! Franks is a Quad City staple and has been around longer than I have. Even after moving to Chicago, I still come to Franks for pizza every time I'm home in the QC Area. I've now got my husband hooked as well! If you are a foodie looking for "Neapolitan with roasted peppers and goat cheese" then don't go here, it isn't your place. Stick to the staples and there is no way you will be disappointed. The pizza is consistently outstanding. The spaghetti and meatballs, delicious. The fried chicken, on point. I'm a girl that loves her salads and lighter entrees but when I splurge, I don't want it to be a waste. And it never, ever is with Franks. read more

Other pizza places are similar-ish but their sausage and mushroom pizza, as far as I'm concerned, is the best pizza on the planet! Love love love Franks pizza! Yes you have to bring cash, yes the wait can be long sometimes, and yes it's not the fanciest place in town, but when you want the best pizza, it's soooo worth it!!!! read more

I've been going to Frank's since 1965! We are HUGE fans! It's the best around. My parents took me there and when I had my kids, I took them there and now we are taking my four grandkids there! It's an experience every time you go but the food is always the same! Great service every time. read more

Been debating for a while now who has the best pizza in the QCA. Harris or Franks...... Harris has better sauce and Franks has the better crust. Weighing all other things out, Franks takes the top spot. Only Mama Bosso Pizza has been here longer. Frank's Pizza is always consistent and is the "Original" Quad Cities Style Pizza! The original Quad Cities style pizza - Harris is a johnny-come-lately - and still the best. Family-owned and virtually unchanged since it opened in 1955. The sausage pizza is the thing to order, large so that it's cut into strips rather than wedges. Maybe their other toppings are fine, but I'll never know. I come here for the flagship item and I don't invite anybody along who wants otherwise. There are plenty of places for patron who wants the choose-your-crust, build-your-own, wood-fire, blonde, veggie, or what-have-you options. Frank's sausage pizza is only found at Frank's. I was in a high-chair the first time I tasted it (c. 1956) and I've been making the pilgrimage my entire life. Oh, and if you just want a sandwich, the hot Italian beef with green peppers is also a total original. read more

I live in the area and truthfully say Franks is the only pizza we eat. Some might say it is too expensive, but you get what you pay for and that's excellence. Their spaghetti and meatballs is awesome and the portions are quite large. Not to mention they have some of the best itailian beef and stromboli sandwiches ever. Other area pizza places may look better than Franks on the inside but none have food as good and frankly..haha..are just imitation. Enjoy any chance you can!! read more

Grubbed pretty hard on the pizza. Very good pizza pies! Wasn't sure if I would like it, but you know what? I most definitely did. An excellent choice when it comes to pies. The prices are decent also. Nice little bar you can chill at while you take in the atmosphere or a slice of pizza pie, either way you can't lose. read more

Okay. Just okay. I was expecting more, since Frank's seems to be a Silvas 'destination.' It looks like it's been there FOREVER - and it's a total dive, which is kinda fun. We had the pepperoni and sausage pizza. The sauce tasted like it came out of a can, while the crust was quite good. The pepperoni is definitely better than the sausage. If you're stuck in Silvas, this place isn't bad. Our server was friendly and efficient. But if you can get to Davenport, try Antonella's. Or Huckleberry's in Rock Island. read more

Well, back in Illinois for a week and had to go to Frank's. We always go to Frank's at least once. This time the pizza was only okay, Crumbled sausage on super thin crust, and I tried the Italian beef sandwich. The problem with the pizza is we ordered sausage and mushroom and they gave us a half sausage and a half mushroom. How weird is that???? I've heard rave reviews about the Italian beef sandwich for years. Well, it's just awful. The roll isn't even toasted there is enough beef on it for five sandwiches, and has zero seasoning, totally blah and tasteless,, and the green pepper that was supposed to be on top was almost non existent. The bottom piece of the roll is slimy soggy so that has to be thrown away. Who wants to sit and eat plain beef with nothing on it with a piece of gummy white bread? No seasoning, it was awful. Yuck. Don't order it and don't believe anyone who tells you it's great. It's not. We had it boxed to take home, but what are we suppossed to do with it now??? Kind of expensive dog food. read more

Oh no! Frank's what have you done to your pizza's? We haven't lived in the QC in 40 years but on the infrequent occasions when we have been back there, we always take a pizza back home with us & savor it & fight over who gets the last piece. My husband was in the QC this week & brought home a Franks pizza. What a disappointment. Apparently they have changed the crust & sausage mixture. We loved both the crust & the spicier sausage the way they used to make it. The crust no longer has that good yeasty taste it used to have & the sausage was very bland. Not sure why they have changed the things that made them rank as one of the best pizza places in the country. Hope they go back to their old recipes. read more

Not worth you time or money!!! Ate there this weekend. the food was disgusting. Something you would see on restaurant impossible. I ordered a double Stromboli. You would think that if ordering a Stromboli it would be pizza like...... Not here! It was two sausages that had been boiled or something like it. They were flavorless. I never add salt to anything and I had to put allot of salt and pepper on it just to add some flavor. The green peppers that were served with it were so soggy that they were inedible. The bun was soggy and there were no sauces or anything that came with it. My wife ordered what was suppose to be some taco pasta dish. Yeah.... Not going to waste your time or mine trying to describe that dish. We will never go back to eat there! I actually had to go somewhere else and get food on the way home. read more
