70+ years in business...I've been going there for about 50 of them. A few things have changed over the years, but a lot has not. Pizzas have more topping options than in the distant past, but a lot of the menu has stood the test of time. You need to pay in cash, but there is an ATM on site. Watch for your Kennedy Half Dollar in your change. You can get pre-made frozen pizzas with a bit of advance notice; you'll need to find someone to ship them. We like to get the half-baked pizza and take it home and freeze sections to have later. On our most recent visit we got dinner and took home our half-baked pizza to start enjoying the next evening. I got the Italian Beef and my wife got Fries Chicken. Both were great! I had a large pile of tender beef with green pepper on French bread. The chicken was crispy, piping hot, and delicious. The tables are either original or food replicas, as are the chairs. They still have the old style cloth rotating hand towels in the bathroom, with paper towels for the less adventurous. Bar drinks are good, and they carry a wide variety of beer by the bottle and can and soda by the can so you won't have to take a Pepsi product over Coca-Cola or visa-versa. You may get to enjoy sitting at a table with others if they're busy, but don't shy away from making new friends It's a unique style of pizza (QC style), but there are a lot of us that like it and I've converted a number of newbies into fans! I went into Frank's for the second time today since I moved back to the states. The first time, it was exactly the same as I remembered it almost 40 years ago, Great pizza. This time.......... I ordered the Stromboli, and when it arrived, the shocked look on my face said everything. What I got, was NOT what I was expecting. What I received was a plain hoagie with an Italian sausage and a few green peppers on it. THAT WAS IT, nothing else! When I stated that this was not Stromboli to the waitress, she said that this is the way it has been for 70 years. This is/was not even close to Stromboli. I almost told the waitress to "Goggle Stromboli" but I bit my tongue. Attached pictures is something as to what I was expecting, not what I received. I've literally been eating at Frank's since I got teeth and could have solid food. The fried chicken is my favorite thing. They use a henny penny fryer and their spices and light chicken coating I've never been able to duplicate and never found another place that has neither. The pizza is so good and the Italian beef is also phenomenol. Every time family comes ro town this is the first place we all go to eat. They also ship out of town as well. read more

Walked in and got my order and food in five minutes. That was great. My Italian beef was good. I forgot to ask for it wet but I'll get it next time. While, admittedly, Rock Island County may not have much to offer, this establishment is a real treat. Pizza is top-notch, highly recommended if you happen to be in the area. Also, though I have never tried it, the fried chicken looks and smells delicious. Food is quality, but unfortunately the atmosphere leaves much to be desired. It is very divey, certainly nowhere I would bring a date, but at least the clientele always seems to be in high spirits and staff are friendly. read more

Been going there for 60 years. Tonight I had the most tasteless sausage pizza of my life. My complaint as a long time customer that managers remarks were "don't know what to tell you" This was over the phone. Frank's Club Napoli Pizzeria, in Silvis, IL (part of Rock Island area) is purported to have created "Quad Cities Style" pizza. Never heard of it? Me neither, until a couple years ago, and I lived there for two years back in the day! What's different about Quad Cities Style Pizza? The crust uses malt as an ingredient, it's relatively flat but the edges are puffy and crispy. Tomato sauce has a little bit of kick from cayenne and red chili flakes. Toppings are under the cheese, (and there's a boatload of cheese) and if you opt for a sausage pie, the sausage is crumbled, not chunks. Finally, no triangles or squares on this baby, the pie is sliced into strips. Characteristics of this style of pizza include a pizza crust made with malt, tomato sauce sometimes made with cayenne and red chili flakes, toppings placed under the cheese, and strips being cut instead of slices. So here's the thing. Ordered half sausage, half pepperoni, glass of Old Style (of course), and I COULD NOT STOP EATING IT.  Wanted so desperately to take some home.  Finally pushed myself away from the table so I could get a few slices out of there. People don't go to Frank's for ambiance. They go for the pizza (and some for pasta).  They were doing a fairly brisk business even at a weekend lunch. I loved it. Serious.  Top three on my list.   Just off I-80 if you're traveling on Main Street USA.  Cash only. read more

We came to dinner tonight with a party of 6. Slight wait which wasn't a problem. Very busy place. Definitely well loved by the locals. The issue is the amount of customers and staff walking around without masks during this pandemic. Those that wore masks a few staff members had them actually covering their nose. FOOD: My husband raved about the sausage pizza. I did not enjoy it. Very little sauce, a TON of sausage and cheese. The cheese slid off the pizza in a huge chunk and the crust was rubbery. This place, was so bad that if I could I would give it no stars. As we walked in, we decided we wanted take out since we wanted to go back to our hotel soon. There was a lady who asked us rudely, what we wanted to eat, but we didn't know because no one offered a menu. After, she gave us the menu we ordered a veggie pizza. After about 15-20 minutes are order wasn't ready (which wasn't a big deal) but we saw the lady that gave us the menu, eating and sitting at the bar laughing around with other people. She then got up got up and gave a pizza (without washing her hands) to another customer. So unhygienic! We ended up buying 2 plates for 20 cents, and when she gave us our change back, she said "you might need that later" as if to mock us that we hadn't given her a tip. We didn't even eat the $20 pizza because as shown in the pictures below, it looked horrible (so we threw it away). The cheese and all the toppings on it slid off. Worst pizza place ever. read more

Very popular place that would be very easy to miss from the outside - don't! It's got great pizza! Is it one of the best? Nope. Is it very good to the point that it's as good as what I could do but saves me the time to do it? You betcha! Their ingredients are fresh and the pizza tastes like it's from scratch - meaning the dough is flour, yeast, etc, given time to rise, and prepped every morning. The service was beyond excellent. My boyfriend told me that if I have any loyalty to Harris Pizza whatsoever, I should give Frank's Pizza no more than two stars despite the fact that our experience there last Friday was nothing short of delicious. Hope he doesn't break up with me. The interior is authentically from the 60's and it was PACKED. Luckily, we were able to find seats at the bar, where we received efficient service from the harried, but nice, bartender. We ordered the Italian Delight from the House Specialties menu and it and it was absolutely mouthwatering. The leftovers didn't disappoint, either. I was an instant fan. We don't talk about it as much as we should, but there is a sharp divide in the QC between people who love Harris Pizza and people who love Frank's Pizza. I thought I knew where I fell on this spectrum but after eating at Frank's last week, I'm not sure anymore. Can't we just agree that we're blessed to live in the land of Quad City-style pizza? If you happen to find yourself in the Quad Cities and are hankering for a pizza, Frank's Pizzeria & Club Napoli is a worthwhile destination for a decent meal in a unique setting, accompanied a complimentary freak show. We dined in at 9:00 or so on a Saturday night. Three quarters of our fellow diners were obese, about a third of them supermorbidly so. We watched a single man read a ragged paperback over the largest plate of spaghetti and meatballs that we had ever seen. A wide majority of the customers were legally drunk, and the staff was composed mostly of haggard women who look ten to fifteen years older than their real age. What differentiates Quad Cities-style pizza, you might ask? The way it's sliced, apparently--bisected, then cut into thin bars. I'd never seen this technique employed, although I understand there are restaurants in Northwest Indiana that slice theirs this way as well. The pizza itself was completely unremarkable, neither as good nor as bad as any average pie that I might have had in Chicago (or elsewhere, for that matter).
