Due to the nature of classic cars, I usually was not all that concerned with a bit higher fee. However, the last time I HAD TO NEGOTIATE down due to the bill was and example of being grossly overcharged. I had the same clutch replacement done over the years with the same make and model of car and knew what the job cost 20 years ago as well as within the last three years. Overall, they did make it correct with the fees but the fact that I had to strong arm them to do it made it the last time our family would use them.

Most recently we had a coolant line leak that apparently was not related to the coolant housing repair we did 6 months before, and when we picked it up Friday, now the car is mis-firing and tremoring while at idle. We took it in 2 months ago for a shake while driving which they did not repair and we had to pay more money to take it to Rakaar Tire to have the job done, correctly; replacing the brakes European auto specialist installed last year. This is the worst auto repair shop I've ever done business with. If you want to lose money and waste time, go here.

My first exprience with Precision Motorcars did not envolve the mechanics of my Mercedes, but…read morerather frustration of being unable to change old tires for new ones. I purchased a demo 2017 Mercedes with very few miles on it from Dana Motors (same owner, but now called Mercedes of Cincinnati). This year, 2025, it only has 31k miles on the original tires and car, but I am taking a 2k mile trip and because I am familar with the composition of rubber, I consulted Tire Discounters, a regional dealership as to the possibility of these 7 year old tires having a blow-out at 80-85 on an express hwy. Of course, TD is in the business of selling tires, but gone TD for years and trust and value their opinion. TD provided the advise I was expecting, so I purchase 4 new tires. The unexpected news was that the Mercedes had "locks" on the tire lugs and NO key. Apparently, Dana Motors and not supplied the key lock kit when I purchased the car, so next step was to visit the car delership which was a complete waste of time. It took about 2 hours there to determine Dana did not have the key to the locks on my car. The only advice they provided was the name of a local locksmith who could drill-out the locked lugs. I returned to TD to ask for advice. The manage there, told me that was the last thing I should do becase locksmith could damage the car rims. Finally, an independt mecanic who I a have known for yeas suggest I try Precision which has specialize in Mercedes for decades. Problem solved!! Ina who seems to be the manager came up with the proper "key" within several minutes. Consequently, I will be using Precision going forward.
