They said they could not complete the alignment because the new tie rod ends were seized and they tried to sell me new ones. To make matters worse, they insisted on charging me, full price, for the alignment which wasn't completed. I agreed to pay full price if they would honor finishing the alignment once the issue was addressed. When I inspected the tie rod ends, they could be adjusted without issue. I took it back to Source 1 for the alignment to be finished, which was completed without issue. At this point, they tried to charge me, full price, again! Their practice is unethical and predatory.

The first time was a standard oil change, the second time was getting a full set of new tires with an alignment and balancing and they repaired a broken tire pressure sensor. The alignment was done properly for the first time, probably ever in my 11 year old car, according to the tech. It was so rusted stuck that had to use a torch to heat everything up so it would release. And I just took it to a Toyota dealership less than 1 year ago for an alignment. When I told the staff this they said it looked like it had never been touched. So it seems to me that everyone else (Toyota and firestone) besides Overbeck wanted to stay on schedule, not getting behind, and just did the bare minimum. And let me tell you what- my car drives like it's new again. The third time was 2 days after my tire pressure sensor was replaced- I took it back in to have it looked at becuase the low tire pressure light came back on. They told me the one they replaced was only intermittently working and was therefore defective. So they replaced it for free and sent me on my way. The best part about this? They have a line that they text confirm your appointment, send quotes to, etc. I send a text to this number around 10pm on a Wednesday to try to secure an appointment early the next day. To my surprise, someone wrote back and told me to bring it right in in the morning, no appointment necessary. When I got there, they said "we're dropping everything to get you on your way", And even offered me a loaner car for the day, knowing I had to get to work. I declined because I had the capability to work in their cozy lobby on their wifi network. I feel like I'm truly treated like family here, they even greeted me by name today (which I find impressive since I've only been here three times). I'm so so satisfied. I just happened to come across this place because I got a coupon in the mail for an oil change. I'm so glad I decided to bring my car here. They want to make sure they're doing the best work possible and making sure they have happy clients.

One of our band members does a lot of work on their own car and thought we should take care of it immediately. Upon their recommendation we found a mechanic close to the venue we were playing that could see us, we were playing Top Cats. We didn't know anyone at the mechanic, we are from NYC. We asked the owner who was SUPER KIND to look at the van. They took their time, did a though inspection, drove it around the block and then had another mechanic look at the issues we had brought to them. Both mechanics agreed it was not a problem and didn't need to be fixed. My bandmate was not with us but insisted there was still a problem and asked to be put on the phone with the owner. The owner, very patiently explained the results of his thorough inspection and that they would be happy to have the business, but they simply don't fix things that are not broken. I told the owner we would be happy to pay them to fix whatever, and still they told me it was fine. He said he would not send us on our way if he didn't think it was safe, and would love to fix it if he could, but there was nothing wrong. To be fair, we heard some crazy sounds, not sure what it was. We had some guys at a gas station look at it and also say we were in a lot of trouble before we stopped at Affordable Auto Care. So it SEEMED like there was a problem. And my bandmate did not believe them, but I was convinced. I asked what we owed them, and they refused payment! I told them I could not live with myself if they didn't take some money, and gave them much less than they deserved. My brother in law is a mechanic, and I took the van to him a few days later and he concurred that what we were worried about, what we thought the problems were was not the problem. In fact, what Affordable Auto Care told us was a problem, and didn't need to be fixed right away was a problem. We fixed it and all was better. It was not an emergency, not the one we thought, and Affordable Auto Care NAILED IT. Called it perfectly. My bandmate was pretty difficult, and wrong about needing the fix, and the owner was so understanding and patient, despite having to talk on the phone to someone who was not even present at the site. I don't live near Affordable Auto Care but I wish I had these guys to fix my van all the time. I would be happy to have their knowledge and expertise, not to mention their kindness and compassion. They could have easily hosed us and didn't. If you don't go to these folks, it's your loss.
